Prayer Summary for September 10

We want to be refined by Your fire, Father
Yes, we hunger and thirst for more and more of You and Your presence
Thank You, Lord
Father, in Jesus name we pray for John Howe and his campaign manager Tim Droogsma
We lift them up to You, and we ask for divine restoration in their bodies!
Whatever the Devil meant for harm, we believe that You will turn things around for the good
Yes, Father, we are asking for wholeness and healing in their bodies in Jesus’ name!
We pray for a quick recovery, and we plead the blood of Jesus over them, Lord
Holding the blood of Jesus over the plans that You have for them, Father
We cover each and every candidate in the precious blood of Jesus
Lifting up the elections taking place in November, we pray that the church would rise up and vote!
Declaring that those that need to be elected would be elected in the name of Jesus
Yes, Lord, we as the church body will stand up and vote!
Calling for those that line up with Your will and Your plan would be elected in November!
We are moving more and more to the right, and we will continue to move more in Your way
You have called the right ones to be at the right place at the right time in Jesus’ name!
Praying that the people will not just sit on the sideline, but the people will rise up
We pray for favor in these last days, Father
Lifting up each and every candidate and all of those that are working for them, Lord
Give them strength to continually contend for what is right!

The following excerpt is taken from Defining Moments by Bill Johnson:

Led by the Spirit: Evan Roberts and the Welsh Revival

The seven o’clock meeting was devoted to asking and answering questions. The Rev. WW Lewis conducted. At the close the Rev. Seth Joshua prayed, and said, during his prayer, “Lord, do this, and this and this, and bend us.” He did not say, “O Lord, bend us.” It was the Spirit that put the emphasis for me on “Bend us.” “That is what you need,” said the Spirit to me. And as I went out I prayed, “O Lord, bend me.”

On the way to the nine o’clock meeting Rev. Seth Joshua remarked, “We are going to have a wonderful meeting today.” To this I replied, “I feel myself almost bursting.”

The meeting, having been opened, was handed over to the Spirit. I was conscious that I would have to pray. As one and the other prayed, I put the question to the Spirit, “Shall I pray now?” “Wait a while,” said he. When others prayed I felt a living force come into my bosom. I held my breath, and my legs shivered, and after every prayer I asked, “Shall I now?” The living force grew and grew, and I was almost bursting. And instantly someone ended his prayer – my bosom boiling. I would have burst if I had not prayed. What boiled me was the verse, “God commending his Love.” I fell on my knees with my arms over the seat in front of me, and the tears and perspiration flowed freely. I thought blood was gushing forth. Mrs. Davies, Mona, New Quay, came to wipe my face. On my right was Mag Phillips, and on my left Maud Davies. For about two minutes it was fearful. I cried, “Bend me! Bend me! Bend us!” Then, “Oh! oh! oh! oh!” and Mrs, Davies said, “O wonderful Grace!” What bent me was God commending His Love [Rom. 5:8], and I not seeing anything in it to commend. After I was bent, a wave of peace came over me, and the audience sang, “I hear thy welcome voice.” And as they sang, I thought of the bending at Judgment Day, and I was filled with compassion for those who would be bent on that day, and I wept.

Robert’s encounter that day was an answered prayer for more than just himself. For four years, the Welsh minister and evangelist Seth Joshua had prayed that God would take some “lad from the coal mine or from the field, even as he took Elijah from the plough, to receive his work.” He had specifically prayed that it would not be a person from Cambridge or one of the other sophisticated universities so that pride and the praise of human intellectualism would not be lifted up. Little did Roberts know that he would become the fulfillment of Seth Joshua’s prayer.

Immediate Effects of the Encounter

After this encounter, Roberts experienced several immediate changes. The next day, September 30, 1904, he wrote a poem reflecting his new state, mentioning how his heart had moved from being “like a stone” to being alive and thriving. He wrote how he felt that nothing could separate him any longer from union with God. Roberts believed he had received three “great blessings” after he was “bent” at Blaenannerch. He claimed that he had “lost all nervousness,” was able to sing all day unhindered, and was flooded with praise and thanksgiving like never before. The nervousness he referred to was due to his extreme shyness. After his encounter, he was no longer afraid to stand in front of an audience. Depression and gloom were also lifted, and he was full of joy, singing, and laughter.

Shifting Paradigms

Roberts wrote to his sister Mary about the importance of seeing God as happy and full of joy.

Before I came to Newcastle-Emlyn, I never met young ladies who could and were willing to speak of religious things. The old fashion was to draw a long face when speaking of religious things. But it was most part of it hypocrisy, and based on the fact and thought that God is solemn and just God, and at the same time forgetting that God is a happy God and a joyful God. Therefore, we must be happy and joyful. Now, when we speak of religion we are full of joy, and our faces are lit up with joy. Shake off this death-like solemnity, and be joyful, ever joyful. We must show the world that we are happy, because of this blessed assurance of salvation. The old story was, “I hope I am saved,” while we can say, “I know I am saved.”

Call to Evangelism

Roberts was also immediately stirred for evangelism in a new way. His desire to save souls grew in intensity and focus. His friend and biographer Daniel M. Phillips said that “this had existed in him for years…but now its intensity grew to such an extent as to conquer entirely all other desires.” The day after his “bending” in Blaenannerch, Roberts said,

Henceforth the salvation of souls became the burden of my heart. From that time I was on fire with a desire to go through all Wales, and, if it were possible, I was willing to pay God for allowing me to go.

Scripture Focus…

And he has appointed some with grace to be apostles, and some with grace to be prophets, and some with grace to be evangelists, and some with grace to be pastors, and some with grace to be teachers. (12) And their calling is to nurture and prepare all the holy believers to do their own works of ministry, and as they do this they will enlarge and build up the body of Christ. (13) These grace ministries will function until we all attain oneness in the faith, until we all experience the fullness of what it means to know the Son of God, and finally we become one perfect man with the full dimensions of spiritual maturity and fully developed in the abundance of Christ.
(Ephesians 4:11–13 TPT)

Continued Praying…

Father, we are looking for greater operations and greater manifestations of Your Spirit
Your Spirit is moving in the Church and through the Church of the living God
Equip us and enable us to do all that You have called us to do, Lord
We are expectant and we welcome You in this place, Father
No, we will not be stagnant in this day, but we will cooperate with You
Give us ears to hear that which You are speaking to us
We are heeding Your Word, heeding Your will, and heeding Your plans, Father
Yes, we will exhort and lift up one another according to Your Word
You have brought us into Your kingdom for such a time as this
Equipped! Equipped! Equipped!
Equipped with the Word, equipped with the Spirit, and equipped with the blood
The same spirit that raised Jesus from the dead is the same Spirit living in us
We cast down every limitation in the name of Jesus
Yes, Father, we know whose we are and whom we serve!
You have given us a revelation of Your love, and we are secure in that, Father
No we are not ashamed of the Gospel, and we will stand up for what is right, oh Lord
It is such an honor and such a privilege to live in these last days
Calling for alignment in Jesus’ name!
There is alignment there, aligning with Your Word and aligning with Your Spirit, oh God
You are revealing and unveiling the things of the Father to us
Calling for each and every believer to stand up and take their place of authority
Declaring that there would be nothing missing and nothing broken
We call for a greater hunger in the Church of the living God
Yes, we are hungry to know the will of the Father, we are hungry to hear and obey
Calling for supernatural aid and assistance of and by Your Spirit, oh God
It is because of Your love, and our faith is working to a greater degree because of that love
There is a switch being flipped now in the spirit, Father
Awakening! Awakening! Awakening!
Your love supersedes all the lies and it supersedes all the deception
No, we will no longer sway back and forth, but we know the One who knows everything!
Yes, Father, You have provided us with everything we need to fulfill Your plan for our lives
You are elevating us to a greater degree of glory!
That is the bending, that is the bending of the Church of the almighty God!
Daily we draw near to You, for we are sons of the living God
Open those ways, Father
We are contending, and we will contend all the way to the very end!
There is a showing, it is a show and there is a showing!
There is a loosing, there is a receiving, there is a declaring and there is a giving!
We must obey, we will obey, and we must obey in that way!
The Church will be unfettered, unlimited and that is what we are pressing for, Father
No, we will not be in bondage anymore!
The body of Christ will be from restraint, delivered, loosed and free in Jesus’ name!
We call upon You in this hour, and we want to be unfettered, Father!
Loose the Church to be all that we have been called to be!
By the precious blood of Jesus, we call the Church to be free from all bondage!
You have called us to have dominion and to be fruitful and multiply!
We will stand strong free from sickness, free from oppression, and free from all hindrances
Loose the Church from financial dependency on the economy of this world
Release us from wrong decisions that cause delays
Increase our capacity to hear and increase our capacity to obey!
Yes, we will obey Your voice, Father!
