Prayer Summary for Wednesday, September 13, 2017

Pastor Ray shared…

Yesterday I was looking at a video of Brother Hagin on Youtube. He was talking about how to be led by the Spirit. If we are not led by the Spirit, who are we led by? What are our decisions based on?

I thought to get out his book “How to Be Led by the Spirit of God.” Sandy and I wouldn’t even be here if we hadn’t read this book. We just purposed to do what we were directed to do years ago. And that brought us here and kept us here.

The following excerpt was taken from How to Be Led by the Spirit of God by Kenneth Hagin:

The Spirit itself [Himself] beareth witness with our spirit….Romans 8:16

Too often people think that the witness this verse is talking about is a physical something. It is not. It is a spiritual something. It is the Spirit of God bearing witness with our spirits. He does not bear witness with our bodies. You cannot go by physical feeling.

We confuse things by the way we talk. We say, “I feel God’s Presence.” No, we don’t. We sense His Presence spiritually. Use the word feeling advisedly; it leaves the wrong impression that it is a physical feeling. Don’t mix the physical with it.

Feeling is the voice of the body.
Reason is the voice of the soul or the mind.
Conscience is the voice of the spirit.

To go by feeling is to get into trouble. That is the reason so many Christians are up and down (I call them yo-yo Christians), and in and out. They go by their feelings. They don’t walk by faith. They don’t walk by their spirits.

When they feel good, they say, “Glory to God, I’m saved. Hallelujah, I’m filled with the Spirit. Everything is fine.” When they feel bad, their faces are long and they say, “I’ve lost it all. I don’t feel like I did, so I must be backslidden.”

I hear people, bless their hearts, talking about being in the valley, then being on the mountaintop, then getting back down in the valley again. I have never been in the valley. I have been saved more than fifty years and I have never been anywhere but on the mountaintop. You do not have to get down in the valley.

People talk about “valley experiences.” I have never had any valley experiences. Oh, yes, there have been tests and trials, but I was on the mountaintop all the time, shouting my way through—living above the tests and the trials!

Pastor Ray…

Have you ever been tempted to have a valley experience? I had a temptation this week to just go by my feelings. If I just would go by my feelings, I would be tempted to head for the valley.

So, praise God we overcome by the blood of Jesus and the Word or Words of our testimony. Amen. When we say we are healed, we are healed. When we say things are going to work out right, things will work out right. Sometimes maybe we back off and we forget, like Brother Hagin said. We talk the wrong talk and we are actually talking about our future in an un-positive way.

I had to pick up something at the drug store and the lady that was helping me said she heard that it is a really nice day outside. She went on to ask me if I was going to enjoy it? I told her yes and asked if she was planning on enjoying the day too. She said “Every time I get a day off, the weather is bad.” I told her not to say that.

I didn’t have opportunity to speak to her about faith at that time but wow. I mean that’s how we would talk and have talked when we were in the world. And we can be tempted to talk that way when we watch the news or watch reports about what is happening politically or whatever. But we walk by faith. We overcome by the blood. We are the head and not the tail. We are up and we are not down. We are on the mountaintop and we are not coming down. Why should we come down? We’ve overcome by the blood. For the blood has already caused us to win and already caused us to overcome. Thank You this morning, Lord, for the blood of Jesus.

The following is a confession based on Isaiah 53:

Father, I say this boldly not on the basis of sight, feeling, or symptoms but rather in the face of them. By His stripes I am healed. I believe this in my heart, I say it with my mouth, and it is mine. I walk in divine health. I have no sickness, no weakness. God is the strength of my life. I will do the work of God joyfully and successfully because I am healed. I will believe, act, and talk like it. It is all based on Your Word, Father, and You watch over Your Word to preform it and make it good.

Continued praying…

Thank You, Father, for the power of Your Spirit
And the blood that covers each one of us
We are not doing things in our own strength
But we are overcoming in You and in Your strength
You are our strength – we can do all things in You
Hallelujah! Thank You for Your strength
We are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might
His might! Not our might

The following excerpt was taken from a prayer declaration over our nation by Ms. Annie…

Lord, the heathen peoples, those that are outside of covenant with You, have thronged tumultuously together. They’ve plotted a vain and empty thing against You and against Your anointed. But You, Lord, have said that the plots and the plans of the wicked shall come to nothing. We believe Your Word, Lord, so we do not fear them. For by Your power and anointing, they are bread for us. Their defense and shadow of protection has departed from them. But You are with us and we are well able to go up and take the promise and take the Promised Land, which You have destined for our blessing. You, Lord, have covered our heads in the day of battle and You do not grant the desires of the wicked. You allow the evil of their own lips to cover them and You do not allow a slanderer to be established in the earth.

Our eyes are upon You, O God, and in You we take refuge. You keep us from the snares that they have laid for us and from the traps of the workers of iniquity. You let the wicked fall into their own nets while Your people escape safely. You set a guard, Lord, over their mouths and keep us from practicing wicked works with man who work iniquity. We refuse to eat of their so called delicacies. Or to take part in their counsel. We make no friendships with angry men and we do not learn their ways. We do not envy the violent and we choose none of their ways. For the way of the wicked is as deep darkness and they do not know at what they stumble, but the path of the just is as a shining light that grows brighter and brighter. And by Your word, our path is well lit, plain and straight, right out before us. We will set nothing wicked before our eyes.

We hate the work of those who fall away from Your ways and Your Word and it shall not cling to us. A perverse heart will depart from us and we refuse to know or be acquainted with wickedness. We choose to behave wisely in Your perfect way, O God. When will You come to us? We learn Your ways, Father God, and we choose Your thoughts. For Your ways are higher than Our ways and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. We choose Your wisdom and Your words for the so called wisdom of this world is vanishing away and coming to nothing. But the Word of God stands forever. We do not walk in the counsel of the ungodly, nor do we stand in the ways of the sinners, nor do we sit in the seat of mockers. We delight ourselves in You and in Your Word, Father, and in Your laws. And we do meditate day and night, for You watch over the way of the godly but the way of the wicked will vanish and come to nothing.

Righteous Father, the foolish things that You’ve chosen are wiser than the wisest wisdom of this world. And the weak things that You’ve chosen are stronger than the strongest things of this world. Your gentle two-edged tongue of truth will break a bone. You break the shields of the wicked and You cause the wars they incite to cease, stop. Your Word, O Lord, is settled forever in the heavens. There is none who can deliver out of Your hand, Lord. For You will work and who will reverse it? So, Lord, we decide and decree things You’ve declared in Your Word and those things will be established for us. Your light will shine upon our pathway.

Pastor Ray…

I like that His light will shine on our pathway. In other words, we are led and we are directed by the power of the Holy Spirit. You are our guide and You’ll guide us and You’ll lead us into all truth. Thank You for it today, Lord.

♪  Have now fear little flock
A bruised reed He will not break

In You and in Me
So have no fear little flock
It is Your Father’s good pleasure to give you the Kingdom
So have no fear little flock  ♪

Scripture focus:

So shall they fear
The name of the LORD from the west,
And His glory from the rising of the sun;
When the enemy comes in like a flood,
The Spirit of the LORD will lift up a standard against him. Isaiah 59:19 (NKJV)

So they will fear the name of the LORD from the west
And His glory from the rising of the sun.
For He will come in like a narrow, rushing stream
Which the breath of the LORD drives [overwhelming the enemy]. Isaiah 59:19 (AMP)

GOD looked and saw evil looming on the horizon—
so much evil and no sign of Justice.
He couldn’t believe what he saw:
not a soul around to correct this awful situation.
So he did it himself, took on the work of Salvation,
fueled by his own Righteousness.
He dressed in Righteousness, put it on like a suit of armor,
with Salvation on his head like a helmet,
Put on Judgment like an overcoat,
and threw a cloak of Passion across his shoulders.
He’ll make everyone pay for what they’ve done:
fury for his foes, just deserts for his enemies.
Even the far-off islands will get paid off in full.
In the west they’ll fear the name of GOD,
in the east they’ll fear the glory of GOD,
For he’ll arrive like a river in flood stage,
whipped to a torrent by the wind of GOD. Isaiah 59:15–19 (MSG)

Pastor Ray shared…

Selah. I heard when you were singing, Ms. Annie, about His standard. I just kept seeing not a house but a huge mansion. And it just reminded me of sometimes our limited expectations and His great plans and purposes for each one of His children.

Continued praying…

That He lifts up the standard!
Sometimes our standard is low, lower than it should be
So this morning we are taking that word
Knowing God comes and lifts up the standard for His kids
So we are moving up
We are moving on, moving through
The Church is in one accord, one body
The way it was created, according to manufacturer’s specifications
Hallelujah!
So we are marching, moving, expecting, believing and declaring
This is the way it should be in Jesus’ name
Thank You for being with us this morning
Especially Holy Spirit, thank You for Your wonderful presence!
Amen
