Prayer Summary for Sept 22

Prayed…

Father, You are everything that we need
You are the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords; You are the beginning and the end
We take our place in heavenly places with You today, Lord
Father, we are expecting to receive great and mighty things from You in these last days
Open up our hearts for more of Your revelation, understanding, and wisdom
Show us the plans, decisions, and steps to take, Lord
Jesus, be Jesus in and through us today
We glorify, magnify, and yield ourselves to You, Father
You are so worthy of all glory, honor, and praise
Lord, we know that You are the healer, provider, and the way-maker!
You are making a way where there seems to be no way!
This is the day that You have made, and we will rejoice and be glad in it
No weapon formed against us shall prosper!
The blood of Jesus is covering each and every member of the body of Christ
Pleading the blood of Jesus over every purpose and plan You have for Pastors and Church leaders
They are blessed coming in and going out, and everything that they set their hands to will prosper
We call Your blessings around and about them in an even greater way!
Victory is ours in Jesus name’!
Your blood will do what You have called it to do!
Adjustments are being made today!
We will continually stay in the flow of Your precious Holy Spirit
Abundance in every arena; spirit, soul, and body!

Scripture Focus…

(21) “Then Jesus went out from there and departed to the region of Tyre and Sidon. (22) And behold, a woman of Canaan came from that region and cried out to Him, saying, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David! My daughter is severely demon possessed.” (23) But He answered her not a word. And His disciples came and urged Him, saying, “Send her away, for she cries out after us.” (24) But He answered and said, “I was not sent except to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” (25) Then she came and worshiped Him, saying “Lord, help me!” (26) But He answered and said, “It is not good to take the children’s bread and throw it to the little dogs.” (27) And she said, “Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” (28) Then Jesus answered and said to her, “O woman, great is your faith! Let it be to you as you desire.” And her daughter was healed from that very hour.”

The following commentary to Matthew 15:21–28 is taken from The Revival Study Bible:

Come, Cry Out and Crown Him
Matthew 15:21-28

Revival comes to those who go after it. Many people are unwilling to pursue their miracle. Go after Him publicly, verbally, and emotionally.

First, it is very important to note here that Jesus was actually using a soft word when He addressed this woman. In the original text, this seemingly harsh word is more aptly read, “little dogs or puppies.” He was not calling her a “dog” as in the way it is used today. On the contrary, He was making the distinction that her people were not of the children of Israel – those to whom He had been sent. She was of the Canaanites, a people marked for divine judgment because of idolatry.

“Yes, Lord, yet even the little dogs eat the crumbs which fall from their masters’ table.” What a response! Jesus was the Bread of Life. His own people had not received Him with such faith. This woman desired to have what the “Children” had treated as waste. She was humble in His sight.

She also recognized her personal need for mercy. She said, “Have mercy on me…my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.” She persisted in going after Him, even when He did not answer her. Many today, if in the same predicament, would go from crying out for mercy to screaming out in anger. Too many seek revival under the influence of the spirit of “instant gratification.” We must all pursue Jesus as this woman did. Though our churches and families desperately need revival, we must always be more aware that we need revival. We must humbly cry out to Jesus, “Revive me, Lord. Refresh my soul, Holy Spirit.”

Remember, after the woman had come to Him, cried out to Him, she went one step further. She recognized Jesus for Who He was – the Messiah. She cried out, “Have mercy on me, O Lord, Son of David.” With her words, she crowned Him Supreme Authority!

A portion of the following commentary about Charles Grandison Finney (1792-1875) was taken from the Revival Study Bible:

Finney, who among the twenty-three million Americans and forty thousand ministers of his time, was described as “unquestionably the most impressive religious revolutionary that America has ever produced.” Even enemies and detractors admitted the awesome way God used him. Three things stand out in Finney’s astonishing life: his willingness to change; his deep devotional life of prayer; his radical message of practical and immediate holiness.

Finney’s life spanned two mighty periods of American and British Christian history, the First and Second Great Awakenings; he was radical to the last. On his tombstone is written, “The Lord be with us as He was with our fathers; let us not fail nor forsake Him.”
