Power From on High
And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. Acts 2:2
The atmosphere of expectancy is the breeding ground of miracles. The second chapter of the book of Acts, during the Feast of the Harvest, will forever be immortalized by almighty God as the time when He rolled back the heavens and introduces to a hell-bound generation the Third Person of the Trinity… the Holy Ghost of God.
The disciples were in despair. Their hopes had been crushed. Their dreams had been shattered. Jesus left them on the Cross, and now He was leaving them to go up into heaven. He told them to wait in the upper room and they would be endued with power.
Power! Have you ever noticed that power has a sound to it? “And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting” (Acts 2:2).
What did it do? It filled. It is the commandment of God and the privilege of God’s people to be filled with the Holy Ghost.
In the days of Moses, God said concerning Bezaleel: “I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship” (Exodus 31:3).
If you want to build something great for God, then you must open yourself to the Third Person of the Trinity and let God begin to deal with you! However, possibly you are facing a trial and something is holding you back. Just look at Moses. He was out there with the pursuing Egyptian army breathing down his neck. He started praying, “Here, God, here; me, God, me; now, God, now!”
What are we going to do? We are hemmed in and bound up, and we can’t break through. The Bible says at about that time God sent a strong east wind and turned the sea into dry land and the waters were divided! (See Exodus 14.)
Do you have any waters that need to be parted? Do you have any stormy seas you need to walk through? Just cry out, “Here God, here; me God, me; now God, now” and watch Him lean over the sapphire sill of heaven’s gate and blow a blast of His blessed breath and part the seas on your behalf!
Right at the moment you think God has run out, you find He is still in the miracle-working business. He will meet your need!
A mighty rushing wind…it’s like a space shuttle lifting off. First you have the countdown. “Five, four, three, two, one.” That’s Pentecost and the upper room experience.
Then, after countdown, you have ignition and the fires get lit. After the fires are lit, you have “Blast off!” Before there is “blast off,” some scaffolding and machinery hold that rocket in place. This represents the work of men’s hands—our jobs, our budgets, our committees, our soul-winning plans—all the things we depend upon to prop us up and keep us “strong” in the flesh.
But, when you have “blast-off,” there is no longer any need for crutches. You are flying high on divine power—it’s holding you up and sending you out!
Another characteristic of wind is that it usually blows in a change in the weather. The Bible said in Joel 2, “He will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain” (v. 23).
Now the Lord wants to send the rain of His Spirit down on you! I am talking about the sound of Holy Ghost power from heaven. I hear the sound of thunder. I see lightning flashing out of the dark storm clouds. I can feel the spray of Pentecostal glory returning to refresh the fevered brows of those in the church!
Do you want a taste of it? This is no time to run around and sing, “Fill my cup, Lord. I lift it up, Lord.” Throw your cup away! Get up on the roof and get yourself a boat! You are in the middle of a flood!
Prayed…
Father, we thank You for Your presence in this place
We will minister, speak, pray and do all that You have called us to do, Lord
No, we cannot do it on our own, but we can do all things in and through You
By the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony, we are overcomers!
We have the victory, and no weapon formed against us will or shall prosper!
Thank You for Your Holy Spirit that is leading and guiding our steps today
Father, we ask for more of Your Spirit to rain down upon us
We open our hearts before You and ask for more of You in our lives
Yes, Lord, more of Your Spirit in the days, the weeks, and the months that are to come
Father, we lift up the voices that need to be lifted up
Give them the words to speak, that they would speak with clarity
Open up that platform for them to speak, that they would speak out according to Your Word
We lift up those in places of authority, give them wisdom and courage to speak the truth
You have chosen and called them for such a time as this!
They are called sons and daughters and You have placed a purpose on the inside of them
We call for them to stand up, and rise up, and fulfill all that You have called them to
No, they will not listen to those lies, but they will call those things not as though they were
Casting down every lie, hindrance, and limitation that would try to hold them back
They will fulfill the call, plan, and destiny that You have called them to, Lord
Those things are being turned more and more to Your right way!
Declaring that we would enter in to an even greater realm of the Spirit in these last days
Calling for the voice of the enemy to be still in the name of Jesus!
Thank You for the satisfying rain from heaven
By Your Spirit, You are touching the body
By Your anointing, You are working in and through fivefold ministry gifts
By Your Spirit, You are granting utterance in the Holy Ghost
Give them the words to pierce and penetrate the hearts of men, Father
Speaking words that help, assist, and give the body a better revelation of who You are
We declare that each and every one would take their place in the body
Calling for unity in the body today, nothing missing and nothing broken in Jesus’ name!
You have called each and every member in the body for a specific plan and purpose
We put all of our hope and trust in You, Father
Open our eyes to see and discover who we are, whom we serve, and whose we are!
Give us a greater revelation of Your love, Lord
Fill us with Your love, that we would be filled spirit, soul and body!
By Your Spirit, each and every one has been designed with a purpose
Yes, Lord, we will fulfill that which You have called us to!
We will settle in to Your place and to Your plan, we will settle in to Your great love
Your great and mighty hand is upon us, and we will finish the race set before us
Fill us with Your Spirit, fill us with the light and life of God
We are stepping into the new way, a new operation for this day and for this hour
Stepping into the day of glory and the day of power
Freedom in Jesus’ name!
Give us the freedom to see, to know and to go to the higher place in a higher realm
We pursue the plan, we pursue the Word, we pursue the Spirit, and we pursue the Father
No, we are not ashamed of the gospel!
Father, we call for a move of Your Spirit, an awakening in the name of Jesus!
Entering into greater, entering in and calling for more
Calling those things down and out of the way in Jesus’ name!
Momentum, expansion, and increase in these last days!
Be opened up!
This is the day, now is the time
Get your hopes up today; get your hopes up right now, today!
The power of the Holy Spirit is alive and working today!
Divine appointments and favor goes before us and prepares a way!
Father, You are doing a new thing, it is a Holy Ghost set up
Calling for fullness of Your Spirit, Lord
We are looking up and out for the new, we pray for the church to step out and step ahead
Greater and mightier things are ahead!
Holding up the fivefold ministry gifts before heaven, we lift their supply before You, Father
Give them boldness and courage to step out and move ahead in the things of God
We plead the blood of Jesus over and around them
Praying that they would have people around them edifying them and lifting them up
Yes, Father, we will fulfill Your plan, and we will walk it out
Calling those things forth of and by Your Spirit in the name of Jesus
We will continually move in that God-ordained way!
The body is rising up in these last days!
