Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

We just let our hearts be stirred this morning. We speak to our own souls today. We speak to our interior, our inner-most being and we say, “Self, be stirred up in Jesus’ name. Be stirred up.” Let a fresh fire be kindled on the inside of us. Let holy fire be fanned into fullness of flame inside of us today.

Prayed…

Lord, we refuse to just go through a day of status quo. We refuse to defend our past or stay stuck in some kind of rut. But we choose this day, Lord, whom we will serve, and that will be you. And so we choose today to stir up our hearts. We choose today to stir up our innermost being and pray. Lord, let your Spirit fall on us afresh. Let our innermost being be breathed upon by the wind of heaven, by the breath of God. Lord, pour out your Spirit. We don’t want to stay where we are or go back, God forbid, to where we’ve been. But, Lord, we want to be on fire, brightly shining, brightly glowing, burning for you as a church, Lord, as a nation, as the body of Christ, as individuals.

Lord, light a fire in us. Start a fire in us today, we pray. In the name of Jesus, hallelujah. Glory to God. We praise you, Father, in the name of Jesus, hallelujah. Glory to God. We shout victory today. We declare breakthrough today… over our lives, over our church, over our nation. We declare breakthrough, progress, increase, promotion, advancement in the plan of God.

Making decrees…

We decree in Jesus’ name, we let the enemy know we will not be held back. We will not be limited. We will not stay stuck. We will not be in a realm where we’re living low. We say no to that in Jesus’ name, and we just declare the way forward and we declare breakthrough in Jesus’ name, victory. Hallelujah.

Exhortation to declare victory…

Just declare victory wherever you need to declare victory in your life, over your health, over your finances, over your children, your grandchildren, a situation you’re dealing with. Just declare breakthrough. Decree victory. Decree breakthrough. Decree the way forward for you. Prophesy. Declare how it’s going to go from here forward in the mighty name of Jesus. Hallelujah.

Take hold of more of God…

The Old Testament and says this… and I’ll cite it kind of generically. It says, “Who among you will stir him or herself up to take hold of more of God?” I want to take hold of more of God today. There’s more to be had. There’s more than we’ve understood to this point. More of His glory. More of His holy fire.

Not just to say, “Oh, I have the fire.” No! Holy fire to live from, that we would live now with an intensity and a passion and a sense of urgency, even desperation.

Not because we’re worried, but because we know what God wants to do. Because we know the outcome for us is good. Because we know the end of our faith. The Bible says we’re to rejoice and celebrate and acknowledge Him at every turn in every area of our lives because of the end of our faith is certain. Amen. The Bible says this in 1st John 5:4, “For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome…” Past tense in other words. “…the world, our faith.” The King James says, “even our faith.”

Trust the process of faith…

One thing comes up in my heart this morning and it maybe is just because I’m always endeavoring to nicely without being preachy coach my kids, encourage my kids, make deposits into my kids’ hearts. And one thing I always encourage them to do is to trust the process. Trust the process of faith. Trust the process of following after God one day at a time.

My daughter has volleyball aspirations. She plays volleyball and she wants to play college volleyball one day. And athletics, as probably most of us know, can be up and down. Some days are great. Some days not so much. But I always remind her, “Trust the process.”

Trust your preparation. Even if you don’t see progress today, trust the process. The work you’ve put in, the focus you’ve set on what your goal.

Well just know this today: Trust the process that God is leading you. He’s guiding us. As a church. Individually. That we’re on the path. And if you don’t feel like you are, then just call out to Him. He’s faithful. He’s good. He’s not going to let you miss it if your heart is open to Him.

Trust the process of daily devoting yourself to Him.
Trust the process of prayer.
Trust the process of worship.

A change in perspective…

In fact, I like to say, where change is concerned, all that’s required for change today is a change in perspective. His presence gives us new perspective. In fact, I believe right now He’s flowing in such a way that He’s breathing on us and pouring into us fresh perspective today, a new outlook. He’s calling us back as a church and as individuals and as His people to dream again, to be inspired again. To live for Him fully again. To return to first-love relationship. Not second love or a previous love. But a first-love relationship that we would be a people white hot, fully aflame for Him.

Don’t be slothful to respond to Him…

The Bible says in Hebrews 6:11, “And we desire that each of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end that you do not become sluggish.” The King James uses the word “slothful.” It literally means slow. That you be not slow to respond to Him. Lazy… indifferent… going through the motions.

God gave us the ability to choose…

I’m reminded that we have a will. God crafted and gave us the ability to choose, which is a beautiful thing. Because you can choose the posture of your body in worship. You can stand up and worship Him. You can choose to reject certain thoughts and choose other ones. You can choose that you’re going to put your heart, you’re going to inject…

Pastor Lynne talks about injecting your faith, injecting your heart into a thing. We can choose to not just go through a motion or be slow, but to inject our heart and our passion into what we do today, into prayer today, into the plan of God today.

Imitate those who through faith inherited the promises…

Because the Bible says that you be not sluggish or slow or slothful, but imitate those who through faith and patience, inherit the promises of God. Pastor Mac years ago did a teaching called “The Spiritual Force of Consistency.” Well, he draws that from this passage where it talks about patience. Because patience can also be translated into consistency. Staying the course.

Like Pastor Mel said today, choosing to go by faith today, whether you feel like it or not. But I guarantee if you choose to go by faith today, to worship by faith, to pray by faith, to inject your heart in what you’re doing today, it won’t be very long before you begin to feel some things. You began to see your emotions begin to align with your intentions and with your faith.

Excerpt from book…

I came across this the other day and I don’t remember who shared it. I actually shared it with my daughter because we were talking about intensity and focus and the different characteristics that make a winner in sport and academics and life. And I thought this was interesting and it goes like this: “Laziness isn’t just a bad habit, it’s spiritual warfare.” And I’m not here to step on anybody’s toes. I actually really didn’t want to read that. I suppose I don’t have to, but it just kind of spoke to me. And so I pray it speaks to you.

Laziness is spiritual warfare…

“Laziness isn’t just a bad habit. It’s spiritual warfare. The enemy doesn’t always attack with chaos. He just convinces you to do nothing. He shows up in comfort, procrastination, and the quiet whisper that says, I’ll start tomorrow. Why? Because he knows he can’t destroy your purpose, but he’ll do everything he can to distract you from it.

“God didn’t create you to coast. He created you to conquer, to build, to steward, to advance the kingdom. But laziness is rebellion in disguise. Proverbs 20:13 says, ‘If you love sleep, you will end in poverty. Keep your eyes open and there will be plenty to eat.’

“Choosing comfort over action and rest over responsibility leads to a life of stagnation where the enemy keeps you from your purpose. God gave you the vision, the gifts, the anointing. But He will not do the work for you. You are praying for overflow, but you won’t even manage the little you have.”

Pastor Ken interjects…

Can I just take my liberty and just inject something here? And maybe this is for someone.

Stop ignoring. Stop playing dumb about certain things, whether it’s your future, your relationships, your finances, your leadership role, your spiritual life. The Bible says test yourselves to see if you’re in the faith. I think it’s good to do an audit on yourself, whether it’s in a practical sense, like in those areas I mentioned, or spiritually. See where you’re at.

For a practical example, sit and write down where your finances are at. You can’t manage what you don’t measure. The Bible says to know the state of your flocks. Pastor Mac has taught that. He’s emphasized that a lot. Know the state of your flocks. You can’t manage what you aren’t informed about. That includes even the small things in your life. God can’t bring change unless you choose to do the diligence in a practical sense or due diligence in your spiritual life to find out really where you’re at.

Like a gardener, tend your garden…

“Where is your Word life? Where’s your prayer life? Where’s your heart? You’ve got a responsibility to tend, like a gardener tends to his or her garden to nurture it and pull the weeds and fertilize it and water it and prune it so that it produces a desirable result or harvest. So too, the Bible tells us above all that you guard or watch over, attend to, guard, tend, watch over your heart. For out of it flow the issues.

“One translation says, “the forces that create the reality of your future.” Is there bitterness? Is there strife? Is there apathetic-ness? Is there indifference? Is there a lack of fire?

Well, guess what? We have a will. We’ve been created in God’s image. We have the ability to choose and be creative. We can choose this day that we’re going to bring change. We’re going to stir ourselves up. We’re going to repent.

Repentance itself is an act of spiritual warfare against the enemy. We’re going to choose to know the state of our flocks so that we can pray. We can believe. We can hear from heaven and respond. He is merciful. Merciful above all. He’s flowing in mercy this morning, even though this is a strong word. Saying, “Church, I want to help you. I want to be in a high place in your thinking and a high place in your life and a high place in your decision making—not in a secondary place. But the first place.” Seek first the kingdom of God.

And it goes on to say, “And all these things will be added to you effortlessly and organically.” Speaking of practical things. But first, we must seek Him above all else.

Finally, this quote goes on to say, “God gave you the vision, the gifts, the anointing, but He will not do the work for you. You’re praying for overflow, but you won’t even manage the little you have. You’re asking for doors to open, but you won’t even get up and knock. Laziness forfeits destiny. Discipline unlocks it.”

I don’t know about you, but that was one of the most spiritual words I’ve ever heard in a while.
