Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Worship leader…
Good morning, everybody. Thank you for being here.
Psalms 34:1–3…
I’ve just been thinking about how God is worthy of all of our worship. And that doesn’t just mean our singing. He’s worthy of us living in a posture of worship. Psalm 34:1–3 says, “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak His praises. I will boast only in the Lord. Let all who are helpless take heart. Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness. Let us exalt His name together.”
Pastor Heather prayed…
And the Secret Place. Let’s go to the Secret Place now. The Holy of Holies. Entering now.
The presence of the living God is here now.
So you’re moving out of your mind and moving into the spirit realm now.
You can’t enter there through your head. So open your heart; enter in through your spirit, the spirit realm.
Pass the natural through the veil now… into the Holy of Holies we go.
Because a sacrifice was made so that we could be in this place, in the presence of the living God.
He’s so worthy of our worship and praise and adoration.
So don’t come casual. Come humble. Come thankful.
Because the blood was shed for you to be able to do this right now, to be able to stand in the presence of the living God.
Oh, what a price was paid for us to experience your presence.
Father, let us not take that for granted as we go into the secret place, as we go into the Holy of Holies.
Because a sacrifice was made once and for all that we could come into your presence.
That we could tabernacle with you.
That we could fellowship with you.
That we could abide with you.
That we could have you living and moving inside of us.
So don’t take that lightly this morning.
Oh, we thank you, Father, for your presence.
There’s no place we’d rather be than in your presence, in the secret place, in the Holy of Holies.
So enter in now. For we’re complete in His presence.
We’re changed from glory to glory in His presence.
So we come to be changed now in your presence, Father.
To look upon you in awe and reverence and thankfulness.
Thank you that we can come boldly before your throne
Because of the sacrifice that Jesus made.
That precious blood that was shed for us, that cleanses us from all unrighteousness.
So shake off your shame. Shake off your guilt.
Get out of your head and get into the spirit realm now into your heart.
Open your heart and make it ready to receive Him.
As we come into the holy holies, you come into our temples, our hearts.
We know you’re already here, Father. But make us aware. Make our senses aware.
And so thankful for your presence.
And that’s what it is. It’s a shift. It’s a shift in our minds that we get our eyes off the natural things, the temporary.
And we look into the spiritual, the eternal things.
For all the things that we’re worried about, that we’re thinking about throughout the day are all temporary.
This is a fleeting moment, a vapor in time.
But as we step into His presence, time stands still because we’re in the presence of the Eternal One.
The timeless One.
And so we turn our eyes to you, Father.
We step into that eternal realm, that spiritual realm, that place where you move, where you breathe.
And we say, “Welcome. You are welcome in this place.”
Thank you that we have a secret place.
A secret place with you where we can go anytime, anywhere.
We can step into that secret place with you.
Where it’s quiet, it’s peaceful, it’s full of love, it’s full of your presence.
Oh, we thank you for that.
Father, like the cleft of the rock, you just put us in. You tuck us in a safe place.
When the world is spinning and shaking, you put us in the cleft of the rock.
And you keep us safe in your secret place.
I keep hearing “the secret place…”
I just keep hearing that the secret place.
So we welcome you, Father.
We come to your secret place now and we don’t have to be noisy.
We don’t have to clamor for your attention.
We just come into your secret place where it’s just you and us and our eyes are on you.
You know every care before we even bring it.
Every trouble before we even bring it.
Every need before we even ask you.
And you’ve already provided and you say, “Come, sit with Me for a while. Come be in the secret place with Me.”
Leave all those things outside the door for I’m already taking care of them.
You can drop them all now at my feet.
I have a plan. So trust me. “I have a plan,” I hear Him say.
So come and spend time with me now in the secret place.
The secret place…
Worship leader …
So I think of that phrase, Pastor Heather even mentioned it: “the cleft of the Rock.” And I think about how, I believe it was Elijah and God put him in the cleft of the rock. And all those things passed before him. The earthquake. The fire. The wind storm. All the things. He was in the cleft of the rock. He was protected there. And God’s presence came by… in the quiet, in the whisper.
In our busy world, it’s a good thing to be quiet and just sit and be still. If you’re not used to doing it, it will feel uncomfortable at first. But growth usually feels uncomfortable at first.
So we’re just going to be quiet for a few moments and just listen. He may have something huge to tell you. He may have something simple like how much He loves you. So whatever that posture is that helps you receive, you could be on your face, on the floor, sit, kneel, whatever it is. Let’s just be quiet and be still and hear His whisper.
He is everything. He gives us the air we breathe. He gives us the words to sing back to Him. He gives us the very life we have. May we always be in that place where we realize how much we need Him.
Prayer Leader Barb…
Holy God… so mighty in power. So great in goodness and grace.
We glorify your name. We honor you from the deepest part on the inside.
You make all things good. You make all things great.
You make all things to work together for our good.
You keep us on the right path. You prepare things and put them right in our pathway, Lord.
So that we walk right into them.
So great is your grace and your mercy.
We so appreciate all that you’ve provided, all that you’ve done for us.
We thank you, Jesus, for your precious blood.
There is nothing like your presence. Even in the time of trouble.
Lord, I thank you that you lift us up, you deliver us.
You open doors for us. That we could never open on our own.
Father, you make a way where there doesn’t seem to be a way.
You shift things into order and you call things into place.
Oh, for our benefit. You are so gracious and kind. We love to be with you in that secret place.
