Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Prayer leader Mike…

Good morning, everyone. Thank you for joining us today. Thankfully, it’s an unusually warm day here in Minnesota. My name is Mike and that’s my wife, Jeanne.

Defining what corporate prayer is about…

God gave me something that I want to talk about, which I think is really good. I mean, it kind of defines hopefully what corporate prayer or just prayer in general can be and the power within that.

Prayed…

So Father, we just settle our hearts and our minds of whatever’s going on in our life right now. Either something we face, something that might be happening today, or something that we might be looking forward to, or events that are coming up in the near future, especially now as we’re celebrating the birth of Jesus next week.

Holy Spirit, we are open to receive what you have for us to hear today. Maybe not just the words that are spoken or prayed or the thoughts that are brought out, but what you’re speaking to our spirits internally. And we just tell our bodies and our souls to align with what the Word has declared and that we will continue to declare today.

Father, we exalt you in our minds, in our hearts, in our bodies, and what we think about, what we say, what we pray, what we believe.

Agreement in prayer…

And even just as we were singing, it was kind of occurring to me that we exalt Him for who He is and what He’s done. And I see it also goes along with what God wanted me to kind of share with first myself, because the things that I’m going to be talking about and praying about were really good because it’s in regard to being in agreement.

Father, that there’s something that I think the way different people can say things when it resonates with your soul and your spirit, there’s power there. And what that is like, you know, when there’s certain passages in the Bible that somehow it doesn’t seem to maybe make sense in the moment that we’re facing or that we’re in, but there’s other times when that same passage, it’s like, it sinks so deep. You can almost feel it reverberate throughout your body and your soul and your spirit.

And the amazing thing of who you are and just this whole thing that we’re calling life is that we exalt you because you are so far above us and at the same time, you’re also intimately inside of us. It can sometimes to the natural mind not make sense. How can He be in us and we in Him all at the same time? Our minds can sometimes have a hard time wrapping around that concept. The image I’m getting is like maybe of a glove and you put your hand in the glove. Well, your hand’s in your glove, but the glove isn’t in your hand. It’s over your hand.

And that’s what’s so awesome about the Bible is that there are things that can really inspire our thinking and our minds and our soul. But there’s also the parts where He said it’s such a higher way to go is when we’re in the spirit. When it talks about a joy that’s unspeakable or that there’s a peace that our minds can’t comprehend. It’s not because it’s so technologically or intellectually so deep or however you want to say it, there’s no way our minds can do it.

But it’s in our spirit that we can come into this, that we can get it. And that can sometimes even be hard to be put into words. So much so, He’s like, “Yeah, I know there’s things that you can’t even think of what to say in your mind.” Because I’ve even thought of people I’ve maybe come across on either reading or hearing them speak. And they’re so intellectually smart, but they seem lost in their soul, in their spirit. Where what they’re saying sounds good but for someone who is with God and pursuing God and wanting to have a deeper relationship, you can tell when there’s a little bit of a tilt in there that doesn’t make sense.

Jesus and the Father were one…

And it’s not because you may not understand what they’re saying, but I’m believing there’s something that in your spirit that it doesn’t quite resonate. So that’s why so many things in the Bible, when Jesus finally came on the scene, so to speak, when He actually manifested as a man and God, He was teaching things that went right over everyone’s head. But He knew that. But He also was wanting us to get to that place. And He talked about it a lot. About He and the Father being one.

And back then when a son would say, “I am like my Father,” the Jewish tradition meant like, oh, okay. They understood that on a human level. But they were absolutely offended to the nth degree when He was saying that in reference to God… to the point where they’re like, “Okay, this guy can’t be from God.” But some who were looking for it actually saw it.

The power of agreement…

And so I kind of want to just go off of that and talk about… I came across this, if you want to say teaching, I don’t know if it was a sermon, it was on the Internet. It was on YouTube. And I have four pages or so. And like every sentence is so good. So I’m going to read some of this, but I’m not just going to read it. It’s a declaration and I’m going to see it as a prayer as well. And it’s talking about that there’s power in agreement.

Great launching point…

And as believers, we know this. We know there’s agreement. But the way that this person talks about this, it hit my spirit so strongly. And like I say, it was almost resonating in me. And I’m like, okay, this is a great launching point to hopefully stir me up. And hopefully it can encourage others and stir them up. Not to necessarily think differently, but to see things differently.

The Word comes alive…

It’s like when we have a problem and sometimes you just keep looking at it, looking at it, looking at it, but then someone else comes along and they’re looking at it from this direction, and they say it a different way. And we can go, “Oh!” I mean the Word does that all the time. If you’re studying something and it doesn’t make sense and someone might say something, or when you’re in a different situation, all of a sudden the Word just comes alive.

So I’m going to start sharing a bit of this. Here’s what I didn’t research out. This was from, I don’t know if it’s from E.W. Kenyon, but I think some of it might come from his teachings. So this is not me, but I don’t know really who did this, but this is so good. I’m like, it spoke truth. So, okay, I’m just going to go with it.

Quote…

“Agreement is one of the most powerful forces in the Kingdom of God, yet one of the most neglected. Jesus Himself declared in Matthew 18:19. ‘If two of you shall agree on earth as touching anything that they shall ask, it should be done for them.’ Heard that many times. Preached many times. Said many times. Not might be done or possibly done—it shall be done.”

Agreement is least practiced…

And sometimes I think that we have that a tendency to want to say it and believe it in our minds, but like, is it getting into our souls, in our spirit? So much to the point where we actually, if you want to say, believe it. And he says, “And yet, despite this breathtaking promise spoken from the lips of the Son of God, agreement has become potentially one of the least practiced, least understood, and least valued spiritual discipline in the modern church. The body of Christ has perfected attending together, singing together, serving together, and even suffering together, but has forgotten how to agree together. Agreement is not a sentimental moment of unity. It’s not nodding politely during prayer. It’s not simply being in the same room or sharing the same belief.

Agreement is spiritual alignment.
Agreement is authority multiplied.
Agreement is faith amplified.
Agreement is heaven recognized on earth.

“Heaven does not respond to crowds. Heaven responds to unity. Heaven does not move because many gather. Heaven moves because two or more align. This is why the enemy doesn’t fear large gatherings. He fears unified believers.”

Understand the power of agreement…

And I believe that that’s one of the things where this corporate prayer can be so powerful, and I’m challenging myself to realize it’s just gathering to praying. And maybe we’re not feeling like we’re seeing anything or are we doing anything? This is challenging me to shift. Are we meeting just because the Bible says don’t forsake the gathering. Okay, that’s fine. We do that. But are we actually agreeing? Are we understanding what the power of agreement really can be?

And I think about when Jesus talks about taking on His yoke and it’s easy and light. Well, yoke is typically between obviously back then and even closer into modern days, like two oxen. It’s a big piece of wood that they strap to both of them, and they have to go together. And really, if one wants to go one way and the other says, “No, I really want to go this way,” they’re possibly just going to like stand right there and not do anything.

I mean, he uses these analogies all throughout the Bible. But have we really thought about what He’s talking about?

He says…

“Agreement terrifies hell. Because agreement creates a spiritual force Satan cannot divide, dilute, or withstand.”

And then we’re reminded though, it’s like the kingdom of God was never designed to function in isolation. Like even in Ecclesiastes… old stuff, Old Testament, Old Covenant. In chapter 4:9–12, he says “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there’s not another to lift him up. Furthermore, if two lie down together, they keep warm. But how can one be warm alone? And if one can overpower him who is alone, two can resist him. And a cord of three strands is not quickly torn apart.”

Two can go further…

I’m even reminded I heard it the other day about the saying that if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go a long way, go with two. Because one can maybe go faster, but two can actually go further. With those, like it talks about two better in strength, better in stability, better in resistance, better in spiritual effectiveness. Agreement is not optional. Agreement is kingdom structure. God Himself operates in unity: Father, Son, Holy Spirit.

He continues…

“Agreement requires intention and engagement. It requires a conscious decision to unite faith, confession, and authority.”

And this one really challenges me.

“Many believers have embraced a theology that places all responsibility for answered prayer on God rather than recognizing the divine partnership that Christ established. When Jesus said ‘it shall be done,” He placed responsibility on the agreement of believers, not just the sovereignty of God. Not because God is reluctant, but because God established the law of agreement as part of His kingdom.

“Agreement is the spiritual structure through which God releases power among His people. But much of the church has drifted into a passive waiting posture where believers hope God will move rather than united faith so God can move. Unity feels unnecessary when believers unconsciously believe something is already predetermined.”

Offense stops agreement…

The other thing he talks about is offense. How offense stops agreement. Disunity stops agreement. Hidden resentment stops agreement. When unity collapses so does authority. That’s why the enemy works tirelessly to sow division among believers.

Agreement is unity of faith…

“Unity without alignment is infected. Agreement is not just unity of thought. It’s unity of faith. It’s not just sharing the same doctrine. It is sharing the same expectation. It’s not repeating the same prayer. It is believing the same outcome. That’s why Jesus said here in Matthew 18, ‘Again, I say to you…” Meaning He said it before and He’s wanting to remind them.

A lot of times in the scriptures like when Jesus was trying to get Martha’s attention, He said her name twice. Back then saying something twice, saying a name twice, it’s really like, “Hey, hey, hey.” Where He repeats things because He’s probably saying, “Yeah, we agree to design the chapel this way. Let’s agree on the paint color. We’re agreeing. That’s good.” But he said he wanted something deeper.

He said…

“If two of you agree on earth about anything that they may ask, it shall be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, I am there in their midst.’ Remember earlier in Ecclesiastes, it talks about the two in a cord of three strands is not easily broken. So when two are on literal agreement, Jesus said, “I’m there as well.” So there’s three right there.

Anything. And He said anything, not just simple requests or small prayers, but anything shall be done. Agreement stabilizes faith. When emotions waiver, it anchors believers in truth when circumstances shift. Agreement confronts the enemy with united front rather than an isolated believer. Agreement is a supernatural weapon that turns individual faith into a corporate force.

Faith is contagious when believers stand together. And victory becomes inevitable when two speak the same word. Agreement carries a boldness that weakens the enemy grip, shatters his claims, and silences his accusations.
