We want to do the will of the Father. Jesus said His meat was to do the will of the Father. His sustenance. What kept Him going was that. That’s what He lived for and that’s what we live for, to do the will of the Father.
Let’s look at Hebrews 11:1, “Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” The evidence of things “not seen.” Verse 2 “For by it the elders obtained a good report. 3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.” Those three verses really talk about something that is pretty phenomenal when it comes to science. I’m a science guy. That’s what I do for a living. Science and engineering, anything have to do with scientific endeavors. I love that kind of stuff. That’s my gifting.
I believe in God and I have faith in God. But I like proof. Five years ago, the Lord spoke to me and said, “In the last days, I will reveal two things in the earth.” And you’re starting to see that now. Those two things. “The number one thing is that I’m going to reveal Myself.” And if you know anything about science, that’s what is happening right now. We’ve learned some things that we’ve never known before about the human genome. We’re able to see further with telescopes in the heavens. We’re able to see so far that we’re able to see the beginning of time. That statement may be hard to understand and grasp. How can you see the beginning of time?
He said “I’m going to reveal Myself.” And then the second thing He said was, “I’m going to reveal man.” Really, those are the two things that are most important. Cover to cover in the Bible and throughout what God is trying to communicate to us is His creation is that. God is a God of revelation. He wants to be known. I’ve heard unsaved people say, “If there was a God, why doesn’t He just appear? Why doesn’t He just make Himself real?” That’s probably one of the dumbest things I’ve ever heard. I’ll tell you why.
For two reasons. Number one, He is revealing Himself. You just have to see it. I was listening to something on YouTube and a scientist said that when Columbus came over and the ships were brought over and were in the harbor, the Indians came to shore. They met the Indians. They were trying to communicate with them and they asked them, “Did you see the ships?” They hadn’t seen them. They started explaining to them what they were. Because they had never seen ships before. What is a ship? They had to explain what a ship was. Then they went to look and they saw them.
Do you know that Adam and Eve didn’t even know what sin was? It was explained to them what would happen if they ate of the forbidden fruit. But they had never experienced it before. How did they know to cover themselves with fig leaves? Prior to that, they had no need for any of that. They were clothed with the glory of God. When they fell, they lost sight of what was real and they started seeing what was temporal. To them, their bodies before the fall were clothed and that’s what they knew. Where did the idea of clothing come from? It wasn’t until it was brought to their attention that sin was a thing. Right? Prior to that point, there hadn’t been no definition of what sin was.
I’m just pointing out these scriptures in Hebrews. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it, the elders obtained a good report. Just because you can’t see something, does not mean it is not real. Somebody said it this way. You have a brain, right? You’ve never seen it before. Then how do you believe you have a brain? Well, science says we have a brain. But do you know that, that is faith to believe you have a brain? We all believe that the sun is going to come up in the morning. We all believe a lot of things that we do not have proof for. Physical proof. But we have more than just eyes we see with. We are primarily a spirit being. Primary. Number one. We’re a spirit being. I am a spirit being. Number two: I possess a body. Now the spirit is number one. The spirit will go on to eternity. Your spirit never dies. Death does not exist. Cessation of this body may exist but not death. For anybody, there is no such thing as death. God created us eternal. The Bible says that He created us in His image. Is God eternal? He created something that will never wear out, that will never quit and will exist for eons forever. Who do you know in this planet that can create something like that? Nobody can do that. He’s the only one that can do that.
The thing I wanted to focus on was that of these natural things we possess and spend so much time with, how clouded we can be about the things of God and how we cannot see God right in front of us and He’s right there. You are here because you want to see God, you want to hear from God. You have a connection that a lot of people don’t have. You see the value of your spirit. Because this is about spirit. What you come here for is about your spirit. Your flesh wants to be home in bed. Your flesh didn’t get you here. It was your spirit. But we’re not going to be driven by our flesh. The more in tune with our flesh, the less we see and hear from God. The more we listen to the aches and pains of age or sickness in our bodies, the less we are in tune with God. The Bible says that Himself bore our sickness and carried our diseases. The Bible says that by His stripes we were healed. It’s a past tense thing. “Were healed.” The Bible is very clear about health, yet from time to time, we run into these health issues. If we were able to be so present in the body and recognize our spirit more, we would see God more.
This is to give you an awareness, to orient you in a way so you can recognize that all the natural things around you are just a bunch of lies. A lot of times, they’re just lies. It’s there to discourage you, to keep you down, to tell you you’re worthless, you don’t have the right paper on the wall, to tell you you’ll never get ahead, to tell you your kids don’t love you… It’s there to tell you all the negative things in this world. That’s what it’s there for. We don’t have to listen to any of that stuff. Because it says here, “for by it the elders obtained a good report.” Faith is the substance of things hoped for, evidence of things not seen. It takes out of that spirit realm and brings into reality that we exist in. How many can think of one thing, if the Lord appeared to you and said, “Anybody here, whatever you ask for, no matter how big, in My name, I will give to you.” I don’t know about you, but before he got that statement out, I’d be out in the aisle. I’m getting mine, right? Yeah! You’d be right there and Jesus would say, “What do you need?” “My child is away and I want her to come back and be in the fold.” He would say, “My child, it’s granted unto you.” Then He’d tell you something to encourage you. Boom. There you go. Next one! Some would be finance. There are so many needs.
Let me put it this way. I don’t even need to ask you to raise your hand if you have a need. Everybody has needs. And if it isn’t your need, it’s for somebody else you know. I say that to say this, that the Word tells us that if you make your request be made known. It tells us He would do that. What I just told you, it says that in the Bible. So what is it, why does Jesus have to appear for us to have more faith that He would actually do that? Each one of you would take Him up on that. But why? It would be amazing if somebody didn’t get up. I’d ask them, “Why didn’t you get up?” “Because I don’t need Jesus to do that. Because Jesus already told me that. And you know what? He’s already said He took care of it.
You know what Jesus would do? He’d stand up and say, “Stop the presses. I have not seen greater faith.” That doesn’t make us any less. It just makes us more… we have to understand some things about it. Just because we don’t understand some things, that’s why we don’t receive a lot of times. It has nothing to do with God trying to test you. If you ask God for something, His plans are yes, amen. A loving Father wants you to have your needs taken care of when your needs come. No waiting. “So why does He wait?” It has everything to do with the things around us. It’s the way we perceive. It has nothing to do with God.
Something my friend, Jim, said that blessed me was, “A thing is not a thing until it’s a thing.” What does that mean? I said something about science and why science is important and why I am so interested by it. Because it gives evidence of the Creator. We have telescopes that are able to see the beginning of time. How you can see the beginning of time? That’s in the past. Logically, that makes no sense. How can you see the beginning of time? Time, you know, we’re in today. Tomorrow is over here and yesterday is over here. So if you’re here, yesterday is gone. How are you ever going to see time? That’s not how the universe works. It’s not logical to your mind. Just because you don’t understand it, does not mean it does not exist. It’s not possible. This isn’t something that is spooky science. The only reason you can’t understand it is because you have not disciplined your mind in a way to understand it that way. I’ll say this quickly for you who are questioning that. When you look into the heavens and see the stars, you are looking into the past. Because you’ve heard the statement that light travels at 186 thousand miles per hour. It takes time for the light to get from one point to the other. Those stars are so far away, they are light years away. What a light year means, if you were traveling at the speed of light, it would take you one year to get from where that is at if it was a light year away to you. We’re talking about billions of light years away. So theoretically if you can follow that principle, that light could have been there for millions of years and the thing that you’re seeing is the light that turned on millions of years ago. Theoretically, that star would not exist and you’re not going to see it for millions of years. That light is coming at you like water. Then it stops and when it stops it’s still coming. There’s nothing behind it. And it’s still coming at you. Then it goes away. But that happened millions of years ago. Isn’t that something! That is real. That is physics. Whether you believe in God or not, faith or not, everybody will agree that is real. Yet it makes no sense to us.
I said that to say this. God created the heavens and the earth and everything we know. There are things you don’t know. You don’t understand. That’s okay. You don’t have to know everything. That’s where faith comes in. Trust. Communion. You may not be disciplined in the sciences but He’ll tell you something about your body or something you’re praying about and that’s all you need to have. Because you don’t see it like your brain and you don’t understand it like science, that does not mean that it does not exist. But I’m here to tell you, God never operates out side of the sciences that He’s created. Every miracle that you’ll ever see, there is a mathematical formula for everything that He creates and does. We’re just now on the crest of understanding some of these things. What is awesome is the more we get closer to the time of His advent, the more we understand of His coming and the more we know. Scientists are completely baffled and can’t understand how the universe could even exist. Of course, they can’t understand. If they don’t believe in God (and most of them don’t because their religion is science), they can’t explain how all this stuff exists out of nothing. Once there was nothing and now there is something. Nothing created something.
If you told a scientist that nothing could create something, they’d think you’re a wacko. But that’s what the Bible says right here. The evidence of things what? Not seen. What is not seen? Nothing. It says that exact thing right there in the scripture. Faith is the thing that takes from what you don’t understand and what you can’t comprehend… how am I going to get that need met? Scientists know now this scripture. They know this scripture. They won’t say that. But what they’re saying if you repeat what they’re saying, that’s exactly what this scripture said. Way before they were even able to figure it out. Wow! When they’re looking into their microscopes and talking about evolution and how we evolved out of a little single cell ameba and they’re looking… can you imagine the day that scientists figured out, they’re looking into their microscope and looking back at them is God, His creation! What’s that like? Because the human genome is so structured in such a way that it is by their own science impossible to be that way without somebody creating it. By the altars of science and where they worship, by their own rules, by their own definitions, God took those definitions, flipped them around, put a mirror in their face and let them say, “I am God. I am the creator.” That’s powerful.
I say this because these are things that you don’t have to understand all of them, but I could tell you this much. God is revealing himself in this hour and He wants to reveal every single day of your life that truth. He wants you to know that “I am the God that healeth thee.” He wants you to know that “I am the God that provides for you.” “I am the way maker.” If you don’t know the way, I can make the way. If the way doesn’t exist, I can create it. He wants to take your hand and what I’m sharing for this morning, I want to take your hand… the Lord is telling us, I want to take your hand and teach you how to create your reality. Instead of living in a world and allowing life to happen to you, I want to give you the power and I created you in my image. I create you to be a creator. I want you to do the things I do in My name. I want you to reveal my glory in the earth. And this is how it will happen. By your hands. By your words. By your thoughts. By your acts. This is how I will reveal Myself to man. And it will confound. The Bible says He takes the foolish things to confound the wise. Glory to God.
