Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Happy Friday, everyone. Welcome to morning prayer here at Living Word. It’s good to have you with us. My name is Ken, and I’m one of the pastors on staff here at Living Word.

Subject: Words and how there is a war for our words on a daily basis…

I thought I would start today by sharing a bit of a devotional with you. I was just reflecting, as I often do at night. For whatever reason, I have a lot of clarity sometimes in the evening. And I was reflecting on the importance of our words and how there is a war for our words on a daily basis. It’s true, there is a spiritual battle going on that is coming at us from the spirit dimension, from the forces of darkness that seek to deceive and wear us down and influence us in negative ways for the enemy’s plan. And there are forces of good: the Holy Spirit, the angels, and the presence of God that seeks to influence, encourage, build us up, and give us clarity for the plan of God.

God has created us in His image, as free-will speaking spirits…

But a big part of the war that is waged is for our words. Because as I’ve often stated and reminded us, God has created us in His image as a free-will speaking spirit, with the ability to choose what we say on a daily and even moment-by-moment basis. And what we say carries weight. What we say, not just in morning prayer or when you pray that prayer of faith, but what we say in the body, as I say, of our language on a daily basis releases kingdom principles, kingdom laws.

The law of faith.
The law of life.
The law of healing.
The law of the spirit of death that also operates where the enemy can get in there.

The Holy Spirit will coach you in the words you speak…

And so there is a war for our words. And I just want to point out that while things may be difficult or you may not see the way forward or how to navigate a situation, know that the answer’s within you. It’s inside of you. And His name is the Holy Spirit. And He seeks to coach us today in our words through prayer, through faith decrees. I’ll remind you of Mark 11:23. Brother Kenneth Hagin many years ago shared how it was the Word on his lips that brought him off the deathbed of sickness.

Pastor Ken’s personal journey with words…

I reflect on my own journey. I can think of different seasons since I was a young person where words were integral in enabling me to come out of a previous season where I was limited, maybe insecure, battling the forces of the enemy because the enemy had taken a cheap shot at my life in some way. It was the words that led the way from where I was to where God was calling me to be in a full experience of victory and freedom and transformation.

It will be words that will lead you to where God is calling you…

And so it will be words that will lead you and me from where we are to where God’s calling us to be next in our lives, in our churches, and in our nation.

Mark 11:23 says…

“Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted to him. Therefore I say to you, all things which you pray and ask, believe that you have received them, and they will be granted to you.”

The number-one way to impact the realm of the spirit is with words…

Now, listen to this. The number-one way we impact the unseen realm of the spirit… the answer may surprise you. It is with our words. Whether releasing our faith, ministering the power and/or life of the Holy Spirit, or warring against Satan’s kingdom, the number-one way we influence the spiritual realm is with our words.

Why is this the case?

I don’t pretend to know all the complexities of the ways of God. This much I do know, however, one of the primary ways God releases His power and authority is by speaking. He commands, He declares, he decrees. When He does, His words release power, life, blessings, judgments, and of course, they create. With His words, God created all things that exist. And with the power of His Words, He holds the universe together. He keeps it working as intended.

Words are spirit and life…

Obviously, spiritual power is released and carried by words. It isn’t the words themselves that are powerful. It is the source of the words. Jesus said on one occasion, “The words I speak are spirit and life.” So when you speak the Word, you are releasing spirit and life. As I say, heaven is a flow. And heaven carries with it all that is in evidence in the heavenly realm, including healing, and provision, and liberty, and freedom. And when you speak words of life, the Word of God, the promise of God, or words in alignment with His Word…

You’re releasing heaven’s flow.
You’re assigning the power of God.
You’re deploying forces of light, and life, and good in your life.

There is an antidote to speaking words of complaining…

So when you face a situation that looks difficult and impossible, our human tendency is to complain and to doubt and to commiserate, and to focus on what is wrong and what’s not right. But the Bible prescribes an antidote to that. And that antidote is gratitude: To focus on, to celebrate, to give Him praise for what is right, and what is good, and what He has stated in His Word ought to be so in our lives. I don’t disagree with you that everything may not be perfect or right in your life. But what’s going to get you from where you are to where God wants you to be where things are transformed, and you walk in abundance, and you experience the power of God in a variety of ways, and you’re fully delivered, entire and wanting nothing, is not going to be focusing on what’s broken, what’s missing, what hasn’t happened, but focusing on what is right in Him.

We can lift our eyes off of what is broken and onto Jesus…

Because “in Him” is the secret, or the mystery, of the Gospel. You may look at yourself and see something very imperfect. You may look at yourself and see that you’re limited and incapable and have limits in certain ways, including in your understanding. But aren’t you glad that we can lift our eyes from our present circumstances and from what’s broken in our world and see Jesus?

We must look away from all that would distract…

The Bible, once again, says “Look away from all that would distract unto Jesus, Yeshua, the author, continuer, and finisher of our faith.” Because when we look at Him, we are looking at the will of God for our lives. He wants you to see righteousness in Him, because in Him you are righteous. He wants you to see abundance in Him. He wants you to see the fact that He was composed and peaceful. Jesus now and in His earthly ministry. And when you focus on what’s in Jesus and that is all in all, then that inspires faith. And that will cause you in a supernatural way to be transformed into the image of His likeness.

In your bank account.
In your health status.
In your emotional state.
In every regard.

It is our choice to focus and speak the Word…

You and I are called with a high calling, and that is to grow up steadily into the even very fullness of the stature of Christ. Not just in spiritual attributes, but also the fact that Jesus was made poor that we might be made rich! He bore sicknesses and disease and weaknesses and injuries and perennial pain so that we could be set free and made whole from head to toe. And it is our choice to focus and speak the Word.

Tack the facts with the truth—with your words…

Focus on Him and speak the truth. Not the facts. Tack the facts with the truth. How do you do that? With your words. So He holds all things together. He holds the universe together by His Word, right? Keeping it as He intended. Obviously, spiritual power is released and carried by words. It isn’t the words themselves that are powerful. It’s the source of the words. Jesus said on one occasion, “The words I speak are spirit and they are life.”

God made us in His image and likeness with the ability to release power through words…

When God made us spirit beings like Himself, in His image and likeness, He created us with the ability to also release power and authority from our spirits through our words. Every last one of us that have professed the name of Jesus have that right and God-given ability to release power and authority. Amazing, isn’t it? We believe. We speak. We’re born again according to Romans 10:9. We believe, we speak, mountains of adversity are gone! Yes, words spoken must be consistent with God’s Word and will. But when they are and we speak them, they are infused with His power and life.

The Bible says in Job 6:25…

“How forcible are your words.” I like that. In other words, words of faith and authority and life, words of Jesus spoken not just to you but through you, have a forcible effect to pry darkness and insecurity and depression and sickness from your life, to pry off of you that stronghold that trips you up and holds you back and keeps you down.

Speak to it today.

Don’t agree with it. Don’t say, “Oh, I guess I’m going to have to live with this another day.” No! You say, “No, no, no, it’s not going to be the way. Today I’m rising up. Today I’m receiving an abundance of grace and the gift of God’s mercy. Today I will rule and reign in life by one Jesus Christ.” Speak to that sickness. Call it out! Speak to the sin and your mediocrity and any place of lukewarmness and say, “Lord, I call it out. I repent in Jesus’ name.”

Call out what you desire using your words…

Repentance is spiritual warfare. It’s an act of aggression against the forces of evil that seek to bind and hinder you so that you can be released. Call out what you desire. Speak words of life and truth (a.k.a. the promises of God) in place of what you see or feel or what yet hasn’t worked out.

God is not finished with us yet as a church, as the body of Christ, as individuals. He has a way forward. Don’t get it mixed up. Don’t get clouded in your thinking. Just because it hasn’t worked out to date doesn’t mean God is not coming through for you.

He is!

Stay in agreement with Him. Let your words be in alignment with the promise of God and the dream He’s placed in your heart. Pastor Lynne has taught us that words and prayers are our ability to contend or fight the good fight of faith, that we might… What? Lay hold on eternal life, a.k.a. the God kind of life.

Whoo, glory to God. It’s not even Monday. I’m preaching here.

So Job 6:25, let me recite it again…

“How forcible are right words.” Job’s word for forcible means “to press.” One of its biblical uses describes a king “Pressing his seal of authority onto a decree or legal document with his signet ring, making it legally binding.” So in other words, your words make the promise of God, make the will of God legally binding in your life.

Words have the ability to seal deals and decree laws…

But I would add to that, when you commiserate with the enemy of your soul and speak out doubt and unbelief and complain, you remain. And murmur, you endorse the enemy’s plan. You give it authority. You give it power so that it can grow in your life. Making it legally binding, the law of the land. Words seal deals and decree laws. Words are powerful even unto life and death. Of course, see Proverbs 18:20–21, right? The New Testament says we are justified or condemned by our words, right? (Matthew 12:37)

Wars are started with words.
Love is communicated through words.
Instruction and education are shared by words.
Deception and confusion are propagated with words.
Kingdoms are built with words.

Your life will be built by words…

Can I just add, your life will be built and will advance by words. The Bible says in Jude chapter 20 in the Amplified Classic, “He who prays in an unknown tongue edifies…” Or rises, advances you could say, grows more and more into the fullness of God’s plan and purpose. With what?

Words!

Words in the spirit, but words nonetheless. Isn’t that good? So your personal way forward is with your words today. Your way out of doubt, your way out of debt is through words. Your way from where you are to where God’s calling you to be, which is a better place of abundance and goodness and grace and freedom and wholeness is with words. And it might be a word, yes, from the scriptures, but it might be a word He spoke to you through the Spirit of prophecy, or the still small voice of the Holy Spirit on the inside of you.

Wage a good warfare with the Word …

Nonetheless, they are words inspired by the Spirit of God. So pull that word out. Dust it off if you haven’t looked to it or said it in a while. Pull it out and dust it off and begin to wage a good warfare with the Word of life, and the Word of healing, and the Word of prosperity, and the Word of the supernatural goodness of God for all people for all times, even to the end of the age. The Holy Spirit is coaching us. “Pull out that Word of God out of its sheath, because the Word is a sword. And use it.”

Use it!

Words may very well be the greatest conduit of authority and power in this world. God’s, “Let there be,” created the world and everything in it.

Ecclesiastes 12:11 says…

“The words of the wise are goads and as nails fastened by the masters of assemblies. Nails help us build, construct, assemble, and hold things together.” Doesn’t the Word of God say that He holds all things together by the Word of His power? Your life is held together. You’re not falling apart. You’re coming together and being held together, sustained, stabilized.

Speak the Word over your life…

I speak that over you today, where you need to be stabilized in your emotions, in your soul, in your outlook, in your life in some regard, in a relationship, in your finances. I speak a surefooted stability to you today. Take up the Word of faith, take up the promise of God, and use the Word as a great stabilizer. Speak the Word. It nails you down and keeps you surefooted and founded on the promise and plan of God.

You will not be moved off your mark. God will not let you go. He’s got a firm grip on you. And that grip remains strong when you speak the Word. The master craftsman used words to build the earth, the seas, and the mountains, and all the other amazing elements and dimensions of creation. And as we said, His Words hold it all together.

Luke’s Gospel says that even the incarnation, God becoming man (that’s Jesus) was caused by a combination of God’s words and Spirit. When Mary asked how she, a virgin, could have a child, the angel informed her that the power of the Holy Spirit would overshadow her and impregnate her with Jesus. Then he said, “Nothing will be impossible with God.”

This translation of Luke 1:37 doesn’t do justice to the strength of what the angel actually said. The most literal and most accurate rendering is, “No word spoken by God is without power.” What a statement that is! And what ramifications it carries for us. Our all-powerful God infuses transcendent power into His Words. They become the carriers of His awesome strength.

His Word is a double-edged sword…

God also calls His Word a sword with which He rules and judges. His declarations not only create and build, they also judge and destroy. They’re both constructive and destructive. Consider the following, “Out of his mouth came a sharp two-edged sword, and his face was like the sun shining in its strength” (Revelation 1:16). It also says, “Repent therefore, or else I am coming to you quickly, and I will make war with the sword of my mouth” (Revelation 2:16).

Some of God’s decrees are to create or perform in the present, other declarations regarding the future. In Isaiah 46:9–10 God says of Himself, “I am God, and there is no one like me, declaring the end from the beginning.”

That’s how we’re to operate: declaring the end from the beginning…

Can I just pause there and just say, “Hint, hint!” That’s how we’re to operate. That’s how we’re to roll. We’re to declare the end from the beginning. If you want to get to the end of your faith, if you want to get to the answer, if you want to get to the prosperity, if you want to come out of a dark night of your soul, if you want to be delivered in some way physically, emotionally, relationally, whatever the case might be, you need to pick up on God’s template. And His template is you need to declare the end from the beginning.

That’s what faith does.

We just read it in Mark 11:23, “WHOSOEVER SHALL SAY.” I don’t know about you, but I’m a whosoever. Are you a whosoever? We’re to say the end from the beginning. We’re to declare what we want, not what we currently are experiencing. If you keep saying and thinking and focusing on what you’re experiencing, you’ll remain and you’ll stay right where you’re at.

Boldly and audaciously decree the way it ought to be…

But if you’ll boldly and audaciously decree the way it ought to be in accordance with the blueprint of His Book, then things will begin to change. Even by practicing gratitude. Let’s just start with that. You can live in your own echo chamber of doubt and defeat for the rest of your life if you want. Or you can say, “You know what? I am one decision away from a completely different life. And today, I choose to speak the truth of God’s Word and life. I choose to speak abundance. I choose to speak what seems impossible to me, or what seems impossible to my present circumstances.” But once again, you make your way forward in the plan of God with your words.

So let me get finish this up here. Again, Isaiah 46:9–10 says…

“I am God, and there is no one like me, declaring the end from the beginning, and from ancient times things which have not been done, saying, ‘My purpose will be established, and I will accomplish all my good pleasure.’”

If you’re feeling pain and like you want to give up in some way, just declare, “Lord, I will live as your Word says. I will live out the full length of my days. And I will do all of the will of God.” The Bible says, “Let the weak say I’m strong. So joints, body, my emotional constitution, I say, ‘Be strong in Jesus’ name. I’m strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Nothing can defeat me or hold me down, for I’m on the victory side. I am on the side of God. He is with me, for me, in me, and His life is flowing through me today, and change is now happening. I may not see it. I may not be able to quantify it in a scientific measurement right now, but I declare things are changing and shifting in the right direction for me and mine today.”

Because words deploy the power of God. Words assign angels to go to work to be around you assisting you as you go about your calling and business and life today. Or if they’re words of doubt and death and defeat, they will elicit enemy forces.

So choose words wisely today.
Use your words wisely today.

Finally, this devotional says…

“Our amazing God stands outside of time, looks ahead, declares the future, and eventually,” I love this, “time catches up to His decree.” Oh, that’s good. Come on, now. In other words, you’re decreeing things that time needs to catch up to. That’s okay. Like God, you’re to live from the spirit realm, the timeless, eternal realm, and decree over the time and space realm. This is how it’s going to be. It might take a duration or period of time, but eventually time’s going to catch up to reveal what you had declared and what the Word of God had prophesied all along.

Come on now, right? Wow. Glory to God.
