Good morning, everybody. Happy Friday. This is a good, good Friday.
The Spirit of God is going to move among us. And people who are watching this morning, you’re going to be encouraged. You’re going to be lifted up. You’re going to be built up. And you’re going to get direction, revelation, knowledge, wisdom.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon us. Why? He has anointed us to preach… What? The good news, not bad news. We have good news. He said He sent Me to heal the broken hearted. If your heart is broken, for one reason or another, what happened in the past, somebody passed away or you lost something, or friendship, or marriage or relationship, your heart is broken. But He said He came to set the captive free, to heal the broken hearted, and set the captives free.
The Spirit of the Lord is upon us. He has anointed us to preach, teach, and speak the good news to the poor.
Who are the poor? Poor in spirit. Maybe poor in finances. He said I come to give beauty for ashes. Yes, beauty for ashes.
Instead of frustration, instead He gave us a garment of praise. So put on the garment of praise.
He tells us that we have to put on this garment of praise that He has given us. But we have to put on the garment of praise.
He said this is the day the Lord has made. We have to rejoice in the midst of all that is going on… negative this. But there is something good happening too in this world. Let’s focus on the goodness of God.
He gave us a garment of praise in the place of heaviness. Let’s let the heaviness fall off this morning from you and I.
When the garment of praise… let’s worship Him and put on the garment of praise in place of the heaviness. Let this heaviness fall off. Casting all your care upon Him. Why? Because He cares for you and I. Hallelujah.
God almighty put on my heart to pray for the spirit of wisdom and understanding to our people… what to do in this situation, in that situation. We’ll be praying that and many other things, seeking the Lord.
I had a friend… we did a lot of business. We still do. He buys properties. We sell properties. Real estate business. He become multimillionaire. We all become very good in doing things, selling because the Spirit of the Lord came upon us to do what He called us to do. I remember the friend. His name is Nash Tafi. (?) We both went to different churches years ago. And we were working this job, that job and doing things. But then the Spirit of the Lord came upon and led us. The Lord led him to be have a car dealership. Anyway, he become a car dealer. At the same time, I got my real estate license. We both went to different businesses. So I walked into his dealership, Honda Luther in Brooklyn Park, not too far from here. And he’s sitting there and there was a Honda that just came out back then. And he said, “DJ, that’s the car.” I said, “Let’s get it.” He was so anointed to sell cars. People passed by other salespeople, the manager, and people go toward him. All these 20 to 25 years, that man was the top salesman and every year he got a free vacation to Hawaii. Plus bunch of bonuses because the Spirit of the Lord came upon him.
So I went to church. This man says, “Hey you’d be good in real estate.” I say, “What is real estate and how do you spell it?” I never heard it. I’m from India. I never! “You’d be good in real estate.” Okay? Because he was a real estate broker. He saw something that I didn’t see. And that he knows what you’re good. The Spirit of the Lord searches to and fro looking for…
So a few weeks later, somebody else in the church… you know why it’s good to go to church? Do not forsake the assembling with people of God getting together. Because you know what? You never know what’s going to speak to someone. Word of knowledge or word of wisdom.
So another one says to me, “Hey, you know what you’d be really good in? Selling real estate.” First teach me how to spell it! Anyway… so he spoke to me. I went to school, took classes, pass the test, become a real estate agent. Realty. I worked for somebody in the local real estate company in Robbinsdale. God is my witness. I didn’t know how to spell. But the Spirit of the Lord came upon me because He’s anointed me to sell real estate. You know what? Starting from 94 downtown, going toward Minneapolis all the way to Robbinsdale and Crystal, every street, I sold at least five to six homes. I’m talking about every street all the way. How? It’s the Holy Spirit!
Because He has anointed me and you to do things He has called you to do. It could be anything. Could be a doctor. It could be an accountant. It could be anything. It’s never too late for the Spirit of the Lord to come upon anyway anytime, even today, this morning.
So we’ve been doing business and we all are doing good. And this man who see me going to church all the time… I was at the church almost seven days a week. So he goes to me, sitting there, we’re doing business. I said, “Paul…” “What?” He’s in Dallas right now. He’s been calling from yesterday. I’m not answering; I’m very busy. So I go to him, “Paul, what is one thing you want?” We made lots of money. We own a lot of properties. We do business. What is the one thing you want me to pray for God to give to you?” He’s of a different belief, a different religion. And you know what he said to me? His hand goes like this, “I want peace.”
So He has the peace you know you can have. You cannot have peace unless you have peace with God. To have the peace of God, you got to have peace with God.
Jesus said, “Come unto Me and I will give you rest.” Not only will He give you rest to our body, He will give rest to your soul. Peace! He is the prince of peace.
He still couldn’t find that peace. He has not made peace with God through the blood of Jesus Christ. There is many religions, but there is no peace unless you have peace through the blood of Jesus. He said when you come to know God, you become sons and daughter. We are children of the most high God. Religion doesn’t tell He’s our Father. The peace of God which passes all understanding guard our hearts and mind in Christ Jesus.
We are talking about the broken hearted. He came to heal the broken hearted and set the captives free. So put on the garment of Praise, in place of the garment of heaviness.
