Prayer Leader DJ…
The ten lepers…
Remember the story of the 10 lepers? Jesus healed the 10 lepers. Only one leper came back and fell at Jesus feet and said, “Thank you, Jesus. Thank you. Thank you. You healed my body. Thank you for taking the leprosy off of me.”
Jesus say, “Didn’t I heal the ten? Only one Samaritan, foreigner, came to thank Me.” Jesus told him, “Go. You’ll be made whole.” And they were healed. But only one with a thanksgiving heart, a praise and worship heart, not complaining and murmuring heart got made whole.
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Now, what can make me whole again? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. We become whole in the precious blood of Jesus Christ. Washed and cleansed in the blood. Oh, what Thanksgiving. Hallelujah.
Well, good morning, everybody. Today, it’s the 22nd of August. One month from now we know what will happen. He said prepare yourself, organize your life. We are not afraid of winter or fall weather. Hallelujah. Months to prepare.
Oh, you know what happened? The Minnesota State Fair started. I remember when I moved here in 1991 from Arizona. Look at the God who provides. I just started going to church, got saved and somebody took me to the State Fair in 1990 for the first time. I had no job yet or work. I just moved here. And the guy who took me, bought me a ticket and got me in. And I’m standing over there. Suddenly the wind started blowing. And a $20 bill came and landed on me! Hallelujah. God said, “I will meet all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah.
My servant Job…
I was reading the book of Job. In the book of Job, the Lord said to Satan, “Look at my servant, Job, how good he is.” God bragged on him. Satan said, “Of course, you give him everything. He has everything.” He was a righteous man. He feared the Lord. He shunned evil. He loved the Lord. And Satan said, “If you take away his stuff, he’ll surely curse you.” The Lord said, “Don’t touch his life. Do whatever else.” So he lost everything in one day. People are running after him to say, “You lost this, you lost this.” I caught the scripture. It’s going to help us this morning.
Job’s wife said to him after he lost everything, “Are you still holding onto your integrity? Curse God and die.” What encouragement, huh? “Curse God and die.” No faith. His wife’ is telling him that.
He replied, “You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept good from God and not trouble?” You know, the word I got was… It says this: “In all this, Job did not sin in what he said,”
That got me. Job did not sin with his mouth, what he said. He didn’t say, “Oh, I knew I’ve been doing all this my life. Why has this happened?” Job did not sin with what he said.
Life and death are in the power of the tongue. He said be angry and sin not. You have a right to be angry, but sin not. Do not let the sun go down in wrath. And how? By this tongue. Sin not. And don’t give place to the devil. Job held his tongue. He did not sin and didn’t give place to the Devil.
I remember Jesus said to Peter, “Simon Peter…” Because he said, “Lord, everybody run away. I’ll be with you.” The Lord said, “Simon, Simon, Satan wants to sift you because of your saying, but I have prayed over you. Your faith will stand.” He said don’t let the sun go down on your wrath. Neither give place to the Devil. Let no corrupt communication come out of this mouth, but building others up and don’t grieve the Holy Spirit with words. He said don’t let the sun go down on your wrath. Be angry and sin not.
One time this couple said, “Oh, you know what, we never go to sleep in wrath.” I said, “Oh, really? What do you guys do?” “We stay up all night and keep arguing.” That was a joke.
He said in all this, Job did not sin against the Lord. He kept his mouth right. “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation,” the thinking “be pleasing unto my redeemer, my Lord. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing unto you.”
If you keep reading Job, in the end he said he did not sin in what he said, so he controlled his tongue. Then he said, “What I feared has come upon me. What I dreaded has happened to me.”
What he feared… I have no peace now. I have no rest. What he feared had come upon him.
There was one time this man got into a walking freezer in the restaurant. He locked the door, and he couldn’t get out. He stayed all night in the walking freezer. When the people came in the morning, they opened the door, he was dead. They found out the freezer was not even working. It was disconnected. It had no power. What happened to him? He was in fear all night long because he was locked in the freezer. The freezer was not even connected. But the fear took him out.
In the parable of the talents, the man gave talents to three servants. He said to go and invest and do some business. Out of the three people, two were productive. One servant said he was afraid to do anything. So fear kept him from doing things what God wants us to do.
Prayer leader Cindy…
May the words of our mouth and the meditation of our heart be pleasing unto you, oh Father. And that’s how we start our day.
Thank you, Father. We come to you with everything. We inquire in your temple.
We gaze into your eyes for you are God, magnificent, almighty God, creator of heaven and earth.
You planned everything.
You created everything.
Everything has its existence in you.
You uphold and maintain all things.
Of course, Father, you’ve called us to your very self.
We have a seat in the heavenlies.
And we have fingers and mouths and we get to frame things by the Word of God.
So our prayer is, Father, show us how you see everything.
We come to you with hope and expectation and wonder and awe, knowing that you see it right and you see it good and you see the end, from the beginning.
And you know how it should go.
And we are your mouthpiece on the earth and we get to speak by your spirit.
We get to be your image bearers on the earth.
Fully invested with the authority from on high, for all authority has been given unto Jesus.
And when He ascended on high, He gave gifts unto men. And He said, “Go and do the works that I’ve done and greater works will you do because I go onto the Father.”
But I will send you the Holy Spirit that He would be with you always revealing, disclosing, transmitting all the things that the Father is saying.
The words from heaven, the words that change and rearrange and set right things that are twisted and offline.
We thank you, Lord, that your face is shining on us, that we might beam forth the knowledge of the glory of God to every situation and the light of God in the light.
People see light and everything gets back where it belongs easily, quickly, springs back and is put back where it belongs, every single thing.
And, Father, we work it out because we’re working out our salvation every day.
Every day is an opportunity to work out a little bit more and it’s fun. It’s enjoyable. We like it. It’s working for us.
We don’t see trouble as anything but a springboard for more of the power and grace of God coming forth.
Because we inquire in your temple. We defer to you in all things.
Thank you, Father. Because you’re excellent. You are excellent in all your ways, you breathe faith in us and through us, through the excellency and that faith works by love.
