Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Well, hello everyone. Happy Wednesday. We are live, once again, from the chapel here in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota at Living Word Christian Center. Welcome!

Hey, can I ask a question?

What’s something you’re praying about right now? Anybody want to volunteer something specific you’re praying about? You’re praying for your youngest grandson in first grade. Okay. That’s good. We agree with you that he will do well and have a really great day today.

Well, if you’re online, maybe take a moment as you’re logging on to just post maybe one thing specific that you’re praying about. Maybe it’s something that God has you assigned to pray about. Maybe it’s something you’re praying about personally. If you wouldn’t mind sharing that. We’d love to agree with you. We’d love to hear what specifically you’re praying about. I know someone is praying for missions. She mentioned that to me the other day. I guess I posed that question, one I want to know. So post it in the chat.

And then secondly, to know that God has things He wants to pray through us. You hear every so often people refer to God as sovereign and there’s an aspect of Him that is sovereign and there are things that He will do despite what we will do because it’s a part of His great plan in the earth in this hour.

We must partner with Him…

But so much of what He can or cannot do hinges on our willingness to collaborate with Him, to partner with Him, to open our mouths and make that faith decree to say what His Word is saying about a situation, to intercede and pray.

Authority has been delegated to the church…

Don’t overlook or forget the fact that much authority has been delegated to the church way more than we even realized today. Authority to speak to the elements of the earth, authority to exercise spiritual dominion in our nation and for the will of God to come to pass in America or in your nation. So just recognize that. And secondly, recognize the scripture encourages us to keep on praying and to not grow weary and not quit because the answers are on their way.

Let me read a couple quick things…

Harold McDougal once said, “As you read the Acts of the apostles, notice how often the Spirit is mentioned and His many roles. His many benefits to the believer. Why? Because this is the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. What we do now must be done in the Spirit. Including prayer.”

Sometimes we pray only out of our soul, and maybe that’s an okay place to start. But God desires for us to be coached and inspired and to pray from a place of faith and inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

He goes on to say…

“Because this is the dispensation of the Holy Spirit. What we must do now must be done in the Spirit. And many blessings of the Spirit are unlocked through speaking in other tongues. Just remember your ability to pray in other tongues is a game changer for any situation. It does not equal the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is far more than just tongues. But it is a gift of the Holy Spirit.”

Tongues is a supernatural technology…

And I like to say it’s a supernatural technology that unlocks the plan of God, that propels the plan of God, that is a source of blessing and refreshing and resource to us throughout the whole length of our lives. So don’t get too familiar with your ability to pray in conjunction with the Holy Spirit in other tongues. It is still a supernatural answer to any situation or any problem you face. Emotional, physical, financial, spiritual or otherwise. It’s a profound thing to be able to bypass your intellect and pray directly out of your spirit, which is what praying in other tongues is. According to the Apostle Paul, it allows us to pray directly to God. It allows us to plug into heaven’s infinite resources and supply of the Spirit. So as Jude 20 says, we can be recharged and built up and filled up.

So he goes on to say…

“The person who does not pray in the Spirit will seldom grow much in the Lord or be used in the nine gifts or even in recognizing or understanding them. Those gifts of the spirit… Speaking in tongues has become a hot issue because the Devil is afraid of it. If he can get us to stop speaking in tongues, he has taken away our Holy Ghost anointing. Some churches that should know better never encourage their people to speak in other tongues. And when we neglect speaking in tongues or ban it openly in our churches, we are neglecting or banning the fullness of the Spirit.”

Because it is, make no mistake about it, our opportunity to be filled. It’s one opportunity anyway. It’s a significant opportunity. It activates the Holy Spirit in our hearts and allows us to be replenished once again with His presence.

He says…

“This gift, speaking in other tongues, is one of the master keys that unlocks the spiritual treasure chest of God.”

Can you repeat that, Pastor Ken? Absolutely, I will.

“This gift of speaking in tongues is one of the master keys that unlocks the spiritual treasure chest of God for you,” for me, for the body of Christ. How many of you know the Lord is doing just that in this hour? He is unlocking His war chest, His treasure chest, His chest of resources and supplies, answers and strategies and direction. The answer for your situation, for our nation for that matter, lies within us. God has sown within the human spirit through the Holy Spirit in each of our lives, destiny and purpose and answers and provision. And prayer in other tongues allows us to take advantage of what Ephesians 1:3 promises us, that we’ve been blessed. It says in Ephesians 1:3, “with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly arena in Christ.” So in Him in that spiritual dimension, you’ve already been blessed in infinite number of ways. You’ve been blessed with whatever it is you need today or tomorrow.

Access that treasure chest through tongues…

But we access that treasure chest, according to Ephesians 1:3 of resources and wisdom and destiny and inspiration and help for today in whatever way you need it… One of the great ways is through the ability to pray in other tongues.

He said this…

“For nearly 30 years now, I have been continually finding treasures with this wonderful key. And yet I sense that I have only scratched the surface. There are multiple joys as yet untouched awaiting me. Awaiting you today.”

I think it’s so important that we stir up our consciousness, our minds regarding these spiritual things. It’s just so easy to just kind of mail it in when it comes to life or even our spiritual life. Just like we’ve learned to do it in a certain way, so we just do it this way.

But God, I believe, wants to remind us each and every day, “Hey church. There’s far more that awaits you than what you’ve experienced up until now. There’s far more victory that lies ahead for you. There’s far more resource in the way of provision in the natural sense. There’s far more awaiting you as far as healing and renewal and wisdom and grace to sustain you through difficult times. There’s more that is yet to be tapped into, yet to be released.”

And your ability to pray out of your spirit even though you don’t feel like it. Aren’t you glad that God calls us to live by faith and not by sight, by believing and not by seeing. I remind myself, what a privilege we can live by faith today. We can put our roots into the Word of God, the words of Christ Himself, and say, “That’s for me. I stand on your Word today, Lord. I let my life be anchored in the promise of your faithfulness, that you are always watching over your Word to perform it.”

That’s a word for somebody today…

God is watching over His Word. It may not feel like it. It may not look like it. You may not taste it, or you can’t touch it. But God has promised that He will follow through in what He has said to you. He says in His Word, He watches over His Word perpetually. He neither sleeps nor slumbers, my Bible says. In other words, 24/7 from our perspective. There’s no such thing as 24/7 in His perspective, right? But from our perspective, He never sleeps nor slumbers. He is always active by and through His spirit, always active by and through His angelic ranks, always active in the Father and in the Son to watch over His Word to you, to watch over His Word that you have prayed.

Did you mean that the other day?

Then stand on that. But make sure you anchor yourself in the Word. You might feel like, “Oh, I don’t know if that prayer was effective,” but when those moments occur, then go back to the Word. And what does it say? Something as simple as “whatsoever things you desire when you pray, believe that you should receive them and you will have them.” Jesus Himself says, “Ask that you may receive that your joy may be full.” And there are numerous more promises that speak of His faithfulness, that speak of what He wants to do in our lives concerning prayer, concerning us personally, concerning us nationally, concerning the church globally.

Get back into the Word…

So I think one of the things that we should be stirred up in our thinking about right now is that it is time to get back to the Word of God. Hopefully we never left it, but hey, I get it. We live in a broken, fallen system of a world and there are always opportunities to drift. We all probably drift at different times. But aren’t you glad because of the grace of God, we can course correct? Because of the grace of God, we can stir ourselves up once again today. And put our roots down a little bit deeper in the promise of His Word. In the promise of healing. In the promise of His ability to follow through on the purpose that He has begun in you and through you. He will have His way.

He double-dog dares you to ask…

And so as a pray-er, keep that in mind. Sometimes don’t be so quick to pray. But slow down and dig into His Word and let His Word inform you, inspire you. Let His Word instruct you in prayer. Let His Word give you a foundation from which you can launch out into the things of the spirit and contend and intercede. Because part of praying, yes, is the “request,” the “ask.” Jesus said you have not because you ask not. So certainly He, in that passage in the gospels, double-dog dares us to ask. He wants us to ask because you are the channel through which change will come. Yes for you. Yes for your grandson. But yes for your nation.

Asking is the first step…

And any situation that you see is not right. That’s an indication that maybe that’s something you need to be lifting up and begin praying about. But as you ask, that’s the first step, certainly. But then comes the standing and the continuing to believe. And what’s going to carry you through from the “yes amen,” and the “look, there it is,” is the Word of God. Because faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God are the words of Christ. That is your sustenance. That is your supply. Jesus Himself said “My words, they are spirit and they are life. They are your divine supply. They are your sustaining force.”

Scripture says that He has exalted His Word even above His name. He holds all things together by the word of His power. I’m sure some day, perhaps, in this age yet, the scientists will find out that there’s some invisible force that holds all things together and that it connects or relates to sound waves. And eventually they’ll find out those sound waves emanate from God and His Word.

We’re not mouthing out hot air. When we pray in the Spirit or in our understanding under the inspiration of the Word of God, we are praying out spirit and life. We are releasing faith. And that faith then goes to work to create change. But stay in His Word. Be a student of the Word as a pray-er.
