Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Well, hello everyone. Happy Wednesday! Good to see you. Welcome everyone in the chapel. If you don’t already know, my name is Ken and I’m one of the pastors on staff here at Living Word. I will be your flight attendant for morning prayer on this Wednesday. So buckle up. You don’t need to worry about any emergency exits at all here because it’s going to be all okay as we pray here today.

Announcements…

I have an announcement. We will host live prayer here from the chapel and online through this week and then next Monday and Tuesday. We will not have live prayer next Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday due to the Thanksgiving holiday. But we will be streaming some of our “best of” morning prayers on our online church channel Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Brain surgeon Carl Peterson’s study on tongues and the brain…

I think I’ve read this a while back, but I came across it again and it bears repeating. But this was some medical research that was done by a very reputable, I believe it was an Ivy League school. Some medical research was done by a born again brain surgeon by the name of Carl Peterson. He did research on what happens in the body when someone prays in the spirit for an extended period of time.

First effect…

He said that people who pray in tongues 20 to 30 minutes a day, the research shows the following. So if you pray somewhat consistently in your heavenly prayer language, their research has shown that praying in tongues activates a part of the brain that has a positive impact on the body. And I believe part of that was boosting the immune system and the central nervous system and some other areas as well.

Second effect…

Secondly, praying in tongues releases endorphins 200 times more powerful than morphine. Can anybody use a little supernatural morphine today? Did you use a shot today? I know I could. So we’re going to pray. We’re going to worship here.

Third effect…

Number three, they found praying in tongues boosts the immune system by 60%. They were able to quantify 60%. Isn’t that remarkable?

Fourth effect…

Fourthly, it improves and enhances the central nervous system, which orchestrates and controls all parts of your body. It runs up and down your spinal cord, your central nervous system and branches out into every part of your being. So that’s an important area to have functioning properly.

Fifth effect…

Fifth, it releases healing in the body. Brother Hagin would often point that out, that when people receive healing, whether it’s through the gifts of the Spirit or whatever that, that healing flows to your spirit and through your spirit into your body.

Praying in the spirit activates the life force of God..

And so you better believe when you pray in the Spirit, you are activating the life force of God within your spirit and it is released. In fact, prayer in the spirit in particular is, as you’ve heard me say often, partnering with God. Not only in His intentions and His plan for the future, for your life, or for whatever you’re praying about, but also you’re collaborating with Him in the release of His power, the release of His divine energy, the release of the life force of heaven so that it can go to work in your cells, in your organs, in your mind, in every aspect of your life.

The Bible says the effectual fervent, white hot prayer of a righteous man or woman makes much power available, dynamic in its working. In other words, it’s dynamic. It’s able to morph. It’s able to be a sign and to flow into situations and circumstances and parts of your body, for example, that are needing a touch of life and the touch of God. So prayer releases God and His life force in this world, in our bodies, and in our lives.

Sixth effect…

And lastly, Dr. Peterson’s research showed that it reduces instances of depression and improves a person’s emotional state, wellbeing, and mental health. So I just want you to set your expectation this morning that as we worship and as we pray, that you’re releasing medicine. You’re releasing supernatural morphine and good God-ordained drugs. Don’t take that quote out of context, please.

God’s Word is medicine…

But God ordained drugs that… The Bible says His Word is medicine. Well, His Spirit is medicine too. And I pray whatever you’re challenged with in your season of life, whatever you’re going through, whatever situation you face, I pray this morning that as we worship and as we pray, that heaven’s flow will reach that aspect of your life. That heaven’s flow will embrace your heart and saturate your life, including your mind, your will, your emotions, and your body. And that you will be changed during this time of prayer.

Prayed…

So, Father, we thank you for the beautifulness of your Word, the beautifulness of your plan of grace, for the presence of your Holy Spirit.

Not our ideas, but your ideas, not our will, but your will. May it be done, may it prosper.

Countries… We lift up whole nations and countries in the name of Jesus.
We just contend today for the mercy of God to penetrate nations… Even unlikely places on the map around the globe today. Even unlikely places and people groups and segments in our society, Lord, that have gone unreached. We lift them up to you today.

You force of darkness, you strategy of the enemy, you doctrines of devils, loose and let go now.
Open eyes. We pray for an opening of eyes. An unstopping of ears.
We pray for a new atmosphere, spiritually speaking even in our nation and in this very state.
We pray for divine disruptions and pattern interrupts in what the enemy is doing in those geographic locations.
We unite under the auspices in the name of Jesus and we say “Be disrupted.”
We declare a change in the atmosphere. We declare a new way going forward, a new hour with some new demonstrations and some new displays of the glory of God will now come into place and rise into prominence, even within our society, even within our leadership and government in Jesus’ name.

Prayer for transformations…

So we just speak forth changes.
We speak forth transformations into the spiritual atmosphere.
We pray for a great release of that power that has been made available through the redemptive work of our Lord.
We pray for a greater increase now of the power of God, of the supernatural workings and the miracles of the Lord.
The works of Jesus now… oh amplify, increase we pray. Turn up the voltage.

Your life is going somewhere…

This has come up a couple of times. But just to remind us collectively and individually that this is all going somewhere. Your life is going somewhere. God has some intentions in mind for your life. His plan still stands. God’s great plan, as I call it, still stands, still is valid. And as the Word records, the good work He’s begun in you… and me… in Living Word… in America… and wherever you abide or live around the world, the good work He’s begun in you, He will continue it. He will further it.

He’s bringing it to a flourishing finish…

And as one Bible translation says, He’s going to bring it to a full completion, to a flourishing finish. I believe the Passion translation says. So make no mistake about it, the harassing voices of the enemy can come at times, but we say no to those harassing voices of doubt and fear. Those voices that say this won’t occur for you because you’re going to be the exception. You’re going to be the poster child of Murphy’s Law instead.

We are on a journey…

No, this is going somewhere. The plan of God is going somewhere. We are on a journey of sorts. We are in a place where God is taking us up and into some new things once again. So I just challenge you. Don’t grow weary in well-doing. Don’t grow weary in believing and standing and praying and attending to your relationship with the Lord and what He set your hand to in the marketplace or in ministry. Because He’s taking us somewhere.

And while you may stand and not see something today in the natural, make no mistake about it. He’s taking you somewhere. He’s taking the church somewhere. And He will have His way. And He will fulfill all that He has proclaimed and prophesied and announced and decreed. He simply invites us to agree with Him.

Do you agree with Him?

Whether it’s a simple promise that says let the weak say I am strong, or that God has a hope and a purpose and a dream for you yet to be fulfilled. Say “yes” to it. Say “yes” to the call to prayer. As the early church, I often reference, gave themselves to prayer. They used their chooser and they chose to give themselves to prayer. Five minutes here, five minutes there, in the nighttime, in the morning, on the road, at the grocery store. Oh, it’s just good to hunger for Him.

Jesus said in Matthew 5:6…

“Blessed or empowered to prosper or succeed are those who hunger, who desire, who thirsts for the rightness of God.” That’s the key. And you grow in hunger as you give yourself to that hunger. As you give yourself to that thirst, that must be quenched to know Him.

Paul wrote in in one of his writings, “It’s my determined purpose that I might know Him and become more intimately acquainted and knowledgeable with Him.” So just know that today.

He’s taking us somewhere…

The devil seeks to disrupt and blind and obscure and discourage, especially if you’ve chosen to follow the Lord’s assignment in prayer. But the Lord would say, “I’m taking you somewhere.” Make no mistake about it. It’s onward and upward from here, from one degree of glory to the next. You will realize that victory. You will walk in My plan, the Spirit of God would say. You will step boldly into new places of liberty and freedom in large spaces where you didn’t even think were possible for you. You’re going to step into large spaces where you’re free to do what God’s called you to do, free to be who He’s wired you and created you to be.

Places of joy and recovery. Places of refreshing and blessing and increase and promotion that you didn’t even cognitively make room for in your thinking. But the Spirit of God would say, make no mistake about it. I have plans and they’re good plans for you today. Agree with Me. Pray with Me, the Spirit of God would say. In the spirit. Allow My very utterances and My very inspired prayers to flow through you as you yield to the Spirit within you, and pray out in your heavenly language.

We’ll go places together you didn’t know were possible…

You’ll find that you’re expressing the perfect will of God, as Romans 8 does declare. And in doing so in that secret place of prayer and devotion, silence and solitude, worship and gratitude, we will work together the Spirit of God says. And we’ll go to places that you didn’t know were possible. For didn’t My Word say that I’m able to do exceeding above and beyond what you can ask, hope, dream, or even imagine?

So elevate your expectations…

Let your hopes be raised, not dashed. Lean in with a faith-filled expectation and know that I will and I am even now presently following through on what I said should be true for you. I’m watching over My word to perform it. I will not delay. Only agree with Me and say with Me, and pray with Me, even My spirit of prayer. And you will see fully, completely, and even abundantly more than you can ask or think, in Jesus’ name.

Prayer leader Kathy…

Pastor Ken, I keep getting this word, and I don’t know if it’s for somebody in here or somebody online. But somebody needs to remember that you will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Somebody feels at the end of their rope today. But the word of the Lord says, you will live and not die. You’ll live and not die to declare the works of the Lord. You will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. And that’s where it starts—in the land of the living. So be encouraged whoever you are. God interrupted this for you. So be encouraged that He sees you. You have a life worth living. Good plans.

Pastor Ken…

That’s good, Kathy. I just punctuate that. We know in scripture the enemy works in an unseen realm to hurl accusation, doubts, and discouragements at people. To get them to quit, to give up, to be able to not see a way forward. So much so that you don’t even think anything else is possible, but the trauma you’ve been through, or the unmet expectations or the symptoms or the pain you might be feeling in your body right now. But that is not the last word. We choose to believe the report of the Lord. Let His Word be the last and final word. It’s not over. You will, as Kathy said, live and not die.
