Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Dustin…
Well, good morning. This is the day the Lord has made and so we make the decision to rejoice and to be glad in it. My name is Dustin Sherry. I’m the Next Gen Pastor here at Living Word. And on behalf of our senior pastors, Pastors Mac and Lynne Hammond, thank you for joining us this morning for prayer.
I’m going to read a couple verses from the Bible to start. And if you’ve never been on Living Word’s website, there’s all kinds of confessions. I don’t know if you knew that. It’s a great place to go though. I’ll read some of those confessions. We’ll pray together. We’ll worship.
I’m going to begin in Psalm 23…
The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
2 He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
3 He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies;
You anoint my head with oil;
My cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
All the days of my life;
And I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
We’ll just keep reading Psalm 24…
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the waters.
3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah
7 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah
Psalm 27…
The Lord is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The Lord is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked came against me
To eat up my flesh,
My enemies and foes,
They stumbled and fell.
3 Though an army may encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war may rise against me,
In this I will be confident.
4 One thing I have desired of the Lord,
That will I seek:
That I may dwell in the house of the Lord
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the Lord,
And to inquire in His temple.
5 For in the time of trouble
He shall hide me in His pavilion;
In the secret place of His tabernacle
He shall hide me;
He shall set me high upon a rock.
6 And now my head shall be lifted up above my enemies all around me;
Therefore I will offer sacrifices of joy in His tabernacle;
I will sing, yes, I will sing praises to the Lord.
7 Hear, O Lord, when I cry with my voice!
Have mercy also upon me, and answer me.
8 When You said, “Seek My face,”
My heart said to You, “Your face, Lord, I will seek.”
9 Do not hide Your face from me;
Do not turn Your servant away in anger;
You have been my help;
Do not leave me nor forsake me,
O God of my salvation.
10 When my father and my mother forsake me,
Then the Lord will take care of me.
11 Teach me Your way, O Lord,
And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies.
12 Do not deliver me to the will of my adversaries;
For false witnesses have risen against me,
And such as breathe out violence.
13 I would have lost heart, unless I had believed
That I would see the goodness of the Lord
In the land of the living.
14 Wait on the Lord;
Be of good courage,
And He shall strengthen your heart;
Wait, I say, on the Lord!
Prayed…
Father, we recognize that you’re our source… you’re our supply… you’re our ever-present help in times of trouble.
You’re consistent.
You don’t leave us.
You don’t forsake us.
You’ll never abandon us.
You’re always faithful.
You’re merciful.
You’re patient.
You’re long suffering.
Your goodness is more than we can comprehend.
I pray, Father, that you would expand our capacity to receive the love that you have for us.
I thank you that you are at work in this room right now. You’re at work in people’s hearts right now.
Bringing healing,
Bringing freedom,
Bringing peace,
Bringing deliverance,
Bringing breakthrough, restoration, wholeness in Jesus’ name.
We thank you, Father, that you are alive… at work… that you’re moving.
Exhortation to receive…
So you can receive whatever it is that you need from heaven this morning. There’s a supply of grace that’s available to you.
Jesus said, “It’s better for you that I go away because when I go, I’m sending the comforter, the counselor, the intercessor, the advocate, the strengthener, the standby, the one who will come alongside of you and aid you and support you.”
He said, “So it’s better that I go, because when I go, He’ll come.
The Holy Spirit is here.
He’s alive on the inside of you… the same spirit, the same power that raised Christ from the grave lives and abides on the inside of you.
So draw from that well.
Continued to pray…
We thank you, Father, that there’s more than enough grace to do what you’ve called us to do.
There’s more than enough strength to do what you’ve called us to do.
There’s more than enough wisdom to do what you’ve called us to do.
And we receive that truth. We believe that.
We believe that we are well equipped.
We believe that we are well supplied.
We believe that we have the advantage because you’re on our side.
We know that we are more than conquerors.
We know that we can do all things by your strength and by your grace and by your power.
Oh, Father, we thank you for all of these things, for the inheritance that we have in you, that the supernatural heavenly inheritance that’s ours in you.
And so we look up this morning. We look to you. We put our eyes on you—the author and the finisher of our faith.
The alpha, the omega, the beginning and the end.
The creator of the heavens and the earth.
The heavens are your throne. The earth is your footstool.
You’re God, and we look to you. You’re the creator. And you’re our Loving Father.
All power, all authority belongs to you.
And you’ve adopted us into your family. You’ve given us an inheritance. You’ve declared us righteous. You’ve called us holy. You’ve given us an assignment. You’ve given us a calling.
You give us new mercy every single day that we don’t deserve.
And there’s an abundance of grace available to us.
And so we just say thank you, Father.
Thank you for who you are.
Thank you for what you’ve done.
Thank you for your faithfulness.
Thank you for your goodness.
Thank you for your consistency.
We look back over the years and we remember all of the times where we cried out to you, the times where it looked hopeless, and we cried out to you… times where we were broken times, where we felt alone, times where it looked like there was no way, and you made a way.
You came through!
You sustained us!
You helped us!
You sent people!
You sent resources!
You gave us strength when we thought we had none left.
You’ve always been there and you always will be.
And I pray, Father, that you would remind each of us this morning of your faithfulness over the years.
Remind each of us of your goodness, Lord.
I pray that we would be stirred up in that. And you would fan the flame in our hearts.
We’re so grateful, Jesus.
