Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Well, good morning, everyone. I just want to interject something here just for point of reflection. This is something that I came across here recently. These are helps, or keys, that Smith Wigglesworth noted in his life and ministry that enabled him to remain on fire for God, enabled him to resist coldness or indifference spiritually speaking. How many of you know that in Minnesota it’s getting cold, right? There are some things we need to do to keep warm: turn the thermostat up, put some extra layers on, et cetera. And so there’s some things we need to do spiritually to be warm.

It’s about His presence…

God’s desire is that each and every one of us would be warmed and rekindled by the presence of His Spirit. As James Tan pointed out, it’s not about what we can do. It’s not about our best effort. It’s about His presence. It’s always been about His presence. In the wilderness for the children of Israel, it was always about His presence leading them by a pillar of fire by night or a cloud by day. And so it’s true even more so today, as Jesus sent the promise Holy Spirit to be our advantage or be our help or be our source and supply and enable us to fulfill all that God intends for us to fulfill as a church and as individuals.

Smith Wigglesworth taught how to stay on fire…

Smith Wigglesworth was addressing some people one day and talking about how he kept his spirit aglow or burning with the Holy Ghost and refused to let himself slide back into coldness or indifference spiritually. He said these five things helped him were keys.

Number one…

He said, “When I sense even a trace of coldness, I force my soul into the presence of God. I do not wait for passion to return. I stir it. A person who waits for feelings will freeze. But a person who stirs him or herself up will burn again.”

We live by believing and not by seeing. We live by faith and not by sight. So aren’t you glad? You may not feel a certain way today, but you can go with God by faith. You can choose to leverage your will and stir yourself up in Him to press into Him.

Number two…

He said, “I pray in tongues until my inner man catches fire. Tongues is the furnace of the Holy Spirit. When I give myself to it, every cold thought, every weak desire, every dull emotion is consumed in the flame of God’s power.”

And of course, if you didn’t know, this is a prerequisite for effective prayer. We all know James chapter five, right? “The effectual fervent white-hot prayer of a righteous person makes much power available.”

Number three..

He says, “I shut my heart against the distractions of the world. The spiritual coldness enters when the world gains your attention. So I turn my eyes back to Jesus and the heat of His presence melts away every frost of indifference.”

Remember, this journey of faith is not one that’s compartmentalized to a Sunday morning or a Tuesday morning prayer. Our journey of faith is a life. Prayer isn’t a subset on our list of to-dos each week. Prayer is your life. And everything that you do, every thought, every action, everything you speak is contributing to God’s plan or contributing to the enemy’s plan.

When you yield to Him, this Holy Spirit, you allow that flame of revival, that flame of the Spirit to be sustained and rekindled and brought to fullness. But when you focus on, when you think on, when you give your attention too much to the world and the things of your lower nature, your flesh, then it tends to cause you to diminish spiritually. You’re sowing to your flesh rather than to your spirit, as the Bible teaches us.

Number four…

He says, “I stay around people who burn. A cold Christian is a Christian who has separated him or herself from the fire of fellowship. But when I stand with believers full of the Spirit, my flame rises again and burns stronger than before.”

Number five…

He says, “I preach to myself the promises of God until faith rises like a mighty wind. Faith does not grow in silence. What did Paul write? He said that faith must be found in your heart and in your mouth. That is the word of faith, which we preach. The most important person you need to hear the Word of God, the Gospel from, is you. There should be times when you are preaching to yourself. When, like David, you become your own best cheerleader. When you are purposeful to practice the habit of stirring yourself up. As the Bible says to take hold of Him.

We can do it.
We’re not helpless.
We’re not hopeless.
We’re not alone.

He sent the Holy Spirit. He’s in us. He’s prompting us. Even today, He’s prompting you. He’s confronting our hearts this morning because He knows the good things He wants to do next in your life and in this house, this church, in your house individually.

So He’s preparing. He’s prompting. He’s seeing if we will have ears to hear and hearts to respond to His activity, to His leadership.

So let me read that fifth one again…

“I preach to myself the promises of God until faith rises like a mighty wind. Faith does not grow in silence. It grows when the Word is spoken with conviction. And when faith rises, coldness has no place to rest.

Prayed…

So Father, we just let that sink in this morning. You are confronting our hearts today.
We’re grateful, Lord, that we are not helpless nor alone, that you are with us, Holy Spirit.
Lord, we want to follow you.
We want to go to that which you have prepared for us as a church and as individuals.
We say “yes” to your plan.
And we say “no” to the pull and the deceptiveness of this age and this world. We say “no” to it today.
We say to our souls today, “Soul, why are you downcast? Why are you downtrodden? Why are you depressed or just coping or getting by in some way.”
We will take hope in God today.
We will take refreshing and a rekindling and a reviving in the Spirit by the help of the Holy Spirit today.
We take that for ourselves today. We take revival for ourselves today.
We take a stirring up today.
We speak that over Living Word Christian Center. You will be stirred up by the fires of heaven today.
We declare over any coldness, darkness, indifference, deception, insufficiency, lack, division throughout this church or in any department or in your home, we declare by faith today, you have no place. You cannot stand and nor will you remain not one moment longer.

For we declare the name of Jesus over this house today.
We declare the name of Jesus over our souls today.
We declare the name of Jesus over our families today, finances today.
We declare the will of God will advance and prosper and rise and thrive in every regard in Jesus’ name.
We declare revival now over this church.
We declare revival now over our nation today.
We declare it over our nation’s capital.

We see what you’re doing, Lord. We see what’s happening on certain college campuses and certain places throughout the nation.
We know that that is what you are doing now. You’re sparking revival.
You’re bringing about Holy Ghost hotspots.
And so we declare, Lord, let Heaven flow in this house.
Let heaven flow through this house, through our ministries, our outreaches, our television broad.
We speak to the spiritual atmosphere, the second heaven, if you will.
And, and we just say, “Atmosphere, be transformed in Jesus’ name.”
Angels, be loosed and go and prepare the way.
Make way, we declare, make way for the coming of the Lord.
Make way for transformation and change.
Make way for a harvest of souls.
Make way for the resurgence of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.
We declare, Father, let there come a holy breakout for we see in your Word that you are called the Lord of the breakthrough. And so we pray together and agree. May you once again be seen and known and reported on social media that you are the Lord of the breakthrough in our house, in our lives, in our nation, in America today, in Israel today.
