Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Dustin…

 Welcome to Morning Prayer, everyone. Glad that you’re here. It’s a prayer party.

Let’s accomplish what needs to be accomplished today…

I’m just going to start by reading a passage of scripture, and then we’ll just do what we feel like the Lord’s leading us to do. As Pastor Kent would say, if we all do what the Lord’s leading us to do, then we’ll accomplish everything that we need to. That’s the goal today, to accomplish what needs to be accomplished.

Psalm 103…
Praise the Lord, my soul;
    all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits—
who forgives all your sins
    and heals all your diseases,
who redeems your life from the pit
    and crowns you with love and compassion,
who satisfies your desires with good things
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

The Lord works righteousness
    and justice for all the oppressed.

He made known his ways to Moses,
    his deeds to the people of Israel:
The Lord is compassionate and gracious,
    slow to anger, abounding in love.
He will not always accuse,
    nor will he harbor his anger forever;
10 he does not treat us as our sins deserve
    or repay us according to our iniquities.
11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his love for those who fear him;
12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far has he removed our transgressions from us.

13 As a father has compassion on his children,
    so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him;
14 for he knows how we are formed,
    he remembers that we are dust.
15 The life of mortals is like grass,
    they flourish like a flower of the field;
16 the wind blows over it and it is gone,
    and its place remembers it no more.
17 But from everlasting to everlasting
    the Lord’s love is with those who fear him,
    and his righteousness with their children’s children—
18 with those who keep his covenant
    and remember to obey his precepts.

19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven,
    and his kingdom rules over all.

20 Praise the Lord, you his angels,
    you mighty ones who do his bidding,
    who obey his word.
21 Praise the Lord, all his heavenly hosts,
    you his servants who do his will.
22 Praise the Lord, all his works
    everywhere in his dominion.

Praise the Lord, my soul.

Keep reading through 104, the next verse…

“Bless the Lord, oh my soul. Oh Lord, my God, You are very great. You are clothed with splendor and majesty, covering yourself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent.”

And so we’re going to do that this morning…

We’re going to take time and we are going to bless the Lord. We’re going to praise God. We’re going to worship Him together. We’re going to see what He’s worth, and we’re going to give Him what He’s worth. That’s what worship means. We’re going to ascribe to Him what He’s worth.

And so we’re not going to sit there with our arms folded, grumpy, and think about other things. No, we’re going to put our eyes on Jesus. We’re going to put our focus on Jesus. And we’re going to give Him the praise, honor and glory that He deserves, right? Because He likes it. He likes it when we lift our hands. He likes it when we clap. He likes it when we kneel. These are all biblical things. These are His preferences. He likes the sound of your voice. He likes it when you open up your mouth and you sing to Him. He likes these things. So that’s why we do it for Him, right?

Worship is not about us…

I think a lot of times with worship, we make it about us. And I don’t like that. Well, it’s not about you. We’re worshiping Him, not yourself. He likes it. So we do it for Him because He likes it. So I just want to encourage you just to worship Him, engage in this process. You will get out of this probably what you put into it. So you might as well go all in. We’re here for an hour anyways. You’re held captive. And so let’s just worship Him. Let’s set our expectation.

Prayer…

Father, we believe that you’re going to meet us here this morning.
We set our expectation. We believe we’re going to hear from you.
We believe we’re going to receive from you.
We thank you for prophetic words. We thank you for divinely inspired words.

Shared…

You can just keep your eyes closed. Keep your attention on the Lord. I just want to challenge somebody in here this morning. This is what heaven is doing right now. What we’re doing is what heaven is doing right now. And so if you’re in the room and we’ve all probably felt this way at some point or another. There’s no condemnation.

But if you’re here in the room watching online and you feel like there’s something else you’d rather be doing, somewhere else you’d rather be, more important things that are pressing. And this is what heaven is doing. Just think about that. And see this as an opportunity to maybe get things in the correct order in your heart.

Definition of idolatry…

You know, a definition of idolatry is just disordered love. It could be loving good things, but in the wrong order. So it could be something that’s supposed to be number 2, 3, 4, 5. That’s number one. Taking that place.

And so if you’re sitting here this morning and you’re just like, “What a waste. I got other stuff I could be doing!” Heaven is singing worthy is the Lamb right now… worthy, worthy, worthy. Crying out, worthy. And so see that as center and wherever you’re at, that’s how far from center we might be. So let’s come back this morning to center and keep first things first and keep Him as our priority. He is the main thing. He is our source. He is our supply. Everything that we need is found in Him. He is the centerpiece. Everything revolves around Him.

Prayed…

I just saw this as we were worshiping. If you need something from heaven, I want to invite you to come down to the front and just receive from Him. There’s no pressure. But I believe that His presence is here. And the Bible says that where the Spirit of the Lord is there’s freedom. There’s freedom from every evil work of the enemy.

Father, I thank you that you live among us. I thank you that you remain close. You said you would never leave us. You would never forsake us. We thank you, Father, that you’re here in this place ministering to people’s hearts.
Ministering to people’s minds.
Ministering to people’s bodies.
Ministering to people’s souls.
We thank you that you aren’t just an idea. You are not just a worldview. You are a person. You are alive.
You are the alpha, the omega.
You’re the beginning and the end. You’re the first. You’re the last.
The heavens are your throne. The earth is your footstool.
Father, we magnify you.
Lord, I thank you that you would remind us of your beauty.
You would remind us of your majesty.
You would remind us of your supremacy.
You would remind us of your glory.
Father, I pray that you would reveal these things to us in a greater way that we would see.
We would look up from circumstances.
We would look up from all of the things that would try to distract us and make us forget who we are.
And who you are and what’s been given to us.
And we would put our eyes squarely on you.
We would put our eyes, our attention, our focus squarely on you.

An exchange takes place…

So just receive from heaven this morning. As you worship, an exchange takes place. As you bless Him, as you honor Him, as you glorify Him, as you exalt Him, you become more like Him. You become like what you worship. And as you worship the God of peace, He fills you with peace.
As you worship this wise, all-knowing God, He fills you with wisdom.
So receive what you need from heaven this morning.
