Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Folu prayed…
Lord, I’m reminded of a homeless lady that came into this place last Sunday and this past Wednesday, and your people just loved on her, Lord, because of the great love that you have shed abroad in our hearts. And she was so touched. And, Father, you brought her back this past Sunday and she got baptized in the Holy Spirit. Thank you for what you are doing in this one person that now has her identity in you.
Yes, she’s still homeless, but not for long. Because May 1st, Lord, you have made a way for her to get her own place. So, Lord, we just thank you for just this one testimony of your redemption for this precious young lady. And how you brought her to this house and now she has found her home. And, Lord, how you are going to be bringing many people home.
Lord, I know of a number of people that said when they walked into this building, they just felt at home that they’re now “home.”
Lord, this weekend will be that for a lot of people, not just here at Living Word, but at churches all over the world. They will come into that house of prayer, their church… Living Word being one of them, Lord… and they will know that, “I am home.”
So thank you, Lord Jesus, for what is planned, Father. How there’s a concentrated effort this morning, to pray and thank you for this upcoming weekend’s services. This wonderful goal that you have put in the heart of our senior pastors, Father. Lord, we see it all over the Bible, different places where we talk about numbers. And so we all agree with the vision of our senior pastors, that at all of our campuses, we will have at least 5,000 people.
And that number represents people that just like you did that miracle for that young lady last week, Lord, how you supernaturally brought her to Living Word and so many people just loved on her. And you took her to another level, Lord.
And so it will be this coming weekend, Father. You just gave us a taste of what is about to happen with that young lady and others. So, Lord Jesus, we give this to you. Holy Spirit, thank you for moving amongst us.
Commented…
Saints, we have pastors that will be coming up shortly. We’ll be praying about this upcoming weekend and the wonderful vision that God has given us. It’s exciting! I am very excited about this weekend. It’s going to be a marker. It’s a change. It’s us drawing a line in the sand and saying, “No more of this status quo. No more!” And we are doing our part.
And it’s exciting. It’s thrilling. Living Word as you’ve known it, you will never know it the way you’ve known it from this coming weekend on. Mark my word. And it’s exciting to be part of something fresh, something exciting, something captivating that our great God is doing because it’s all about souls. It’s all about men and women and children pressing in. And God gave us a taste of what that looks like with this young lady this past weekend.
We did a special prayer about three weeks ago. We did a three-hour special prayer, praying for Easter. And we had different people lead, staff members led, different prayer leaders that Tammy and I pray with. And there was a time when my wife was praying along, and then she had everybody keep quiet. And as we were all in that place of silence, one of our dear sisters, the Spirit of God just started speaking so powerfully through this dear lady. And what the Spirit of God saying was, “Oh, My bride. Oh My bride. Oh My bride.”
I was like, oh Lord Jesus! Help us to do right by your bride. Help me to do right by your bride. It left an indelible print how the head of the church cares about His bride. And we have this wonderful coming weekend to love on His bride, to welcome His bride.
Remember the scriptures. While we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. So we’re going to do it again this coming Friday, 6:30 to 9:30. We’re going to be in the fellowship hall. It’s good Friday. We ask that you consider joining us where we do round two. We have a number of staff members lined up already and friends of my wife and I that prayed together already. And, we’re just going to do it again. And then we’re going to usher in starting today what God has for Living Word.
Pastor Alicia…
Good morning, everybody. My name is Pastor Alicia. I am the kids director here at Living Word. So I oversee all of the kids ministry as well as I pastor grades one through five. And they’re just so special to my heart. And all the families here are so special.
I wanted to share something with you that a volunteer actually said to me on this Sunday as we’re celebrating Palm Sunday. She is a faithful woman who comes every other week to serve the kids on Sunday mornings and be what we call a head coach, which kind of facilitates everything.
And she said, “There’s a change in the atmosphere. There’s a change in the spirit.” She felt it. And she said, “I used to pray that the kids who were not well behaving or who had issues would stay home on Sundays.”
That’s honest.
So that we would have less challenges. And she goes, “Now I pray that they come. I want them here because there’s no better place for them to be than here.”
And I just want to share with you such amazing testimonies that the kids are experiencing the presence of the Lord. They’re bringing their Bibles. They’re seeking God. They’re on their knees during worship. If you could see them during our worship time… I just stand back and I want to take my pictures and whatever, but I can’t, because I can’t even move. Because I’m in awe.
This last weekend we had palm branches for Palm Sunday and they were waving them and I had tears in my eyes. Because they put them down on the ground and then knelt and sat there for our last song of worship. And the Lord spoke to my heart and said… “They laid palm branches at My feet in worship, but Hosanna means ‘save us.’ But in order for Jesus to save them, they had to let something go.”
And what a picture God gave me of these kids just letting it all go. They’re the best at that. They’re the best at forgiving people. They’re the best at letting things go. They don’t care what people think. I want to be more like them. They just let it all go.
And so I want to encourage you, if there’s something that you’re hanging onto today, this holy week, let it go. Just let it go at the feet of Jesus. That’s why He came to save us. He came to save us for all of those things.
And then I want to share one verse: Psalm 18:19 in Passion, “His love broke open the way, and He brought me into a beautiful, broad place. He rescued me. Because His delight is in me.” I love that. His love broke open the way.
This weekend, His love is breaking open the way in our lives, in the kids’ lives, in the family’s lives. There are so many families who are coming hurt and broken. And I’m so glad, just like my volunteers said, because this is the place that they can experience His presence and love for them. He would’ve come just for one of them. And when you see their face, you’ll never be the same.
Prayed…
So, God, we plead the blood of Jesus right now that was shed for us. The thing that we are honoring this week. That precious blood of Jesus, we plead and apply it to these families. God, we thank you for the parents and we plead the blood of Jesus over them. And we ask that you would give them wisdom, strength, energy to be parents, to raise godly children. And, Father, we call in the families that may have been lost, but now they are found. We call them in from every direction, from every community.
Pastor Virginia…
I have been so weepy praying for Easter and the preparations and all the things that we need that we’re doing to prepare. It’s so important to pave the way. And so I am honored and privileged, although a little reluctant to get up in front of everybody to pray. I’m a doer. I got my lists. I have all the things that we need to take care of prior to prepare for this weekend. And one of the things that Jesus has been speaking to my heart, which is the culmination of this very celebration weekend, is peace.
I will read to you from John. This is Jesus speaking. It’s says, “Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. Not our peace, not our understanding, not our do’s and don’t do’s our lists, but His peace that passes all natural understanding. I do not give you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”
So many times we rely on our preparations in order for God to be able to do what He needs to do. We need to rely on God to do what He needs to do in order to help us prepare. And as I was meditating on some of the things I’ve been praying over, Pastor Alicia, you hit home. “Home.” And it’s home to us because we’re here. We come, we attend, we’re involved. But there are people out there that don’t have a home. I’m not talking about a physical home. I’m talking about a “heart home.”
I was talking to one of my staff members and this resonated with me. And we were just talking about Jesus coming, if it were for just one person. If it was just for you, He would’ve come. And that’s the revelation that we want people to have, that if just but for me, you would’ve died on the cross.
Prayed…
Father, we pray not only for those that are faithfully attending that will be here this weekend, but for those that are coming back home. Those that may have left for whatever reason and have not yet found a place to call home, we welcome them back home. May they experience the love that we have for them. We pray for those who will be coming for the very first time. Those that don’t even know they need a home, that their eyes and their hearts will be open to your truth, and that their lives will be forever changed.
Pastor Ken…
Good morning. Just in the spirit of what Pastor Alicia said, I wanted to add something that I jotted down last night as I was praying and reflecting in the evening. Maybe it’s resonating with me and my spirit perhaps because it’s something I pray about often. It’s something that I’m reading about, hearing reports about more readily, more often, and that is simply “awakening.” And what I jotted down was this.
Right now there is a buzz of an awakening of the Holy Spirit all around us. We must recognize our need for stillness and prayer before the Lord, that we might wait in His presence, hear His voice, and recognize the awakening that’s happening all around us.
So let’s ask the Lord to give us grace to slow down and inquire what is on His heart and what He wants to do. The truth of the matter is the Lord is working to get our attention regarding what He wants to do. And one of the big things is He wants to, and He is, awakening our nation, the body of Christ, and the world to His presence. He’s drawing us into an encounter with Him. To know Him more intimately, more accurately, more consistently, that we might simply collaborate with Him in this hour and be a part of this great end time move of God.
So I pray that your heart would be awakened this morning and that our eyes would see and that each of us would receive a fresh outpouring and encounter of the Holy Spirit. I’ve often said that before God does a great work through us, He wants to do a great work in us.
