Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Prayer Leader Jeannie…
Good morning. Thank you for coming to Corporate Prayer. Of course, we know that what we’re really up to is to enforce the kingdom. That’s what we do at Corporate Prayer.
Isaiah 45:22–25…
“Look to Me, and be saved,
All you ends of the earth!
For I am God, and there is no other.
23
I have sworn by Myself;
The word has gone out of My mouth in righteousness,
And shall not return,
That to Me every knee shall bow,
Every tongue shall take an oath.
24
He shall say,
‘Surely in the Lord I have righteousness and strength.
To Him men shall come,
And all shall be ashamed
Who are incensed against Him.
25
In the Lord all the descendants of Israel
Shall be justified, and shall glory.’ ”
That is for today. That is not for later. That’s not even for tomorrow. That is for today. Today!
Okay.
Psalms 123:1–2,
Unto You I lift up my eyes,
O You who dwell in the heavens.
2
Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their masters,
As the eyes of a maid to the hand of her mistress,
So our eyes look to the Lord our God,
Until He has mercy on us.
Until He has mercy on us! Which would be already.
Psalm 121:1–2
I will lift up my eyes to the hills—
From whence comes my help?
2
My help comes from the Lord,
Who made heaven and earth.
The help that we receive comes from the One who already made the map. He knows every twist, every turn, every corner. He knows anywhere the enemy could hide, and He draws them out to be destroyed.
Prayed…
Father, we do not take this honor lightly, and we refuse the heavy burden. Because your yoke is easy and your burden is light, and your victory is assured.
We thank you for the joy of battles already won.
We thank you that we’re in the middle of a battle already won. We thank you for it.
We thank you that we realize the soberness of the hour with massive joy, with ridiculous victory.
Fights, fights in the middle of the fight. We war from the place of winning.
We war from the place of victory.
The mystery of the cross is ours.
And it’s ours in Minneapolis.
It’s ours in St. Paul.
It’s ours in America.
It is ours in Iran, in Iraq, and Venezuela, in North Korea and South Korea. It’s ours in Africa, in the world.
The mystery of the Gospel is playing out, crying out in the streets, and being received on a level that we’ve never experienced.
Jeannie shared…
So on the way over here, Mike and I both thought of this passage at the same time. So I’m going to read this passage, but what we didn’t realize until we looked it up, it’s the character of people in the last days. So I’m going to start with 2nd Timothy 3:5. I’m going to read two different versions.
So the one is the One New Man Bible: “Having an appearance of reverence but denying the power of it.”
The moral fabric of a church…
You know, we were just recently at a church where you could discern the moral fabric of the community just coming out of that church. Which is so important. I mean the moral fabric—the dos and the don’ts, the rights and the wrongs. But there was not an emphasis on the power of God and of Holy Spirit.
Longing for the power of God…
Now, I believe that what God is doing is He’s working in the hearts of His people that already have that foundation, that morality of the Christian walk. But the longing for the power of God, the longing to see the Bible come alive, the Word and flesh and blood, which is what we have already received… us walking out and doing greater things that even Jesus did while He walked the earth.
That is what is upon Minnesota!
That is what is upon Living Word. That is what is upon the churches in the Twin Cities. Because in the middle seeming disaster comes the Holy Spirit and the people of God not denying His power. You know, it requires humility.
We will not listen to a stranger’s voice…
Mike and I were talking about this on the way over here too. I’m going to read this scripture and then I’m going to stay with that. Holy Spirit, Keep me in check with you right now. You are the one that speaks through us, speaks to us. We hear your voice and a stranger’s voice, we do not follow. Thank you, Father.
These are poignant times…
I’m asking you right now. If I go off on a rabbit trail, you check me and I get right on course. These are poignant times, times of great victory. And victory indicates there’s a battle.
I’m going to read that again. So let’s start with verse four. “Betrayers, thoughtless being conceited, loving, pleasure more than loving God. Having an appearance of reverence but denying the power of it. So you must continually turn away from these things.”
Okay, so here it is in the New Living…
“They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that.”
I’m going to read that again. Believe me, we’re going to get right into the upside real quick. But I am going to read this again. “They will betray their friends, be reckless, be puffed up with pride and love pleasure rather than God. They will act religious, but they will reject the power that could make them godly. Stay away from people like that.”
Relying on God…
When I get like that, I’m going to stay away from that person. It’s interesting that the Word talks about how they’re people of pride. I was just telling Mike on the way over here, part of why this can be such a tempting ditch to get into is because you don’t have to rely on God. You can just completely rely on the way you see it, what you believe is going to work, what worked in the past, what maybe your education told you or your experience told you.
However, it does not require you to lay it all down and trust Him and stay focused on Him, but that is where the power lies. Think about that! In the middle of the way, everything looks… wouldn’t it sound intelligent to just talk about how bad it was? It’s actually ridiculously stupid because it’s pride.
Identifying pride…
Could I propose to you that when you talk about how bad it is and get puffed up with pride because you’re able to identify the problem that maybe it’s pride? That maybe you’re not telling the truth because the truth is that we’ve won. The truth is, is that the Twin Cities has a massive calling and the prophetic words dating all the way back to George Washington Carver. That out of this area would flow a ridiculous power of God that would overflow into the country.
Yet… yet… and I’ve done it too. I have gotten puffed up with pride and said, “Well, this is wrong and this is wrong.” How is that what God said? Do you think God tells us these things so that we can pick them up? We can pick up our sword and use it? Look, this place has a huge calling.
Use your weapons…
Daughter, Son… here are your weapons. Let’s just pretend like this is the sword. Here’s your weapon. Here’s My Word. Here’s My promise. Use it! And do it with joy. Do it with peace. Do it with ease. Why?
“But, Father, why would I?” Because you’ve already won, honey. Daughter, you’ve already won! “But I don’t think I have.” Well then get with Me. Renew your mind and let me minister the truth to you.
Oh, there’s an idea…
Well, then that would mean I’d have to lay down the way I see it. That would mean I’d have to go with what your Word says instead of what this expert says. Yeah, exactly! You would actually have to humble yourself. And believe me and have your mind war and tell you you’re crazy and declare My Word.
Do you remember that Jesus wanted to give up before He finished it? Do you remember that it looked completely like over… beyond over when He called it finished.
Yes, I do.
Well, let me minister that to you. And then the war becomes enjoyable because you know you’re in it and you’re winning it. Because you’ve already won it. That is where we’re at today. That is our position today. So even when Goki opened with, we see it the way you see it. That’s how we see it. And that’s how we say it.
One last thing…
There are too many examples in the Word. Jehosaphat. The Moabites. All of the “ites.” It was everywhere. It was coming from everywhere. But what did he do? Did he talk about the expertise of his enemy? Did he say, “Well, they’re good at this and they’re good at this and they’re coming from this direction?”
He didn’t do that! He humbled himself and cried out to God. And then God gave him… did God give him a solution that made sense? No, of course not. Of course not! God wants to show off. He told him to praise. And then God sent confusion into the enemy’s camp.
That is where we are at today.
Let’s just pray in the Spirit for a minute and watch. Pray with victory on your mind.
Remember every example, everything that ever happened in the Word, that even made it into the Word, every victory.
Prayer leader Mike…
We see that the Word is actually a weapon. As Goki was singing about the song saying there’s a lion inside you. That lion is the lion of Judah. That’s Jesus in our lungs. But if it stays in our lungs, it’s ineffective. It’s meant to be used. If we don’t speak out these things of the Word, what God said, nothing happens. These words on a page are nothing more than just words on a page. If we do not activate them with our mouths. The church will wonder, “Why isn’t anything happening?” It’s because we haven’t allowed that to be released.
A sword is not decoration…
You know, they talk about the Word is a sword that cuts between these things. But if a sword just hangs on the wall, it’s just a decoration. A sword is not a decoration. The Word is not just this book, this physical words on a page mean nothing unless they’re actually activated and spoken. Nothing happens until we speak God’s Word. And by the way, we are God’s mouthpiece here on this earth to declare this. He demonstrated it when He started everything. He spoke things into existence. He didn’t think of them. He didn’t scribble them on a piece of paper and hoped that they came to pass. He actually had to speak them and say them.
The Word in your mouth, if it’s not spoken out, it’s nothing more than just nothing. It’s nothing. God gave us the authority to speak these things out. He didn’t say that just so it’s a religious thing that we do in the mornings or whatever. That there’s actually power in there.
God also given the impression of a gun. If there’s a bullet in there, but the bullet has no black powder in there, the hammer can’t strike it and create a spark. If there’s no spark, the bullet just sits in there and doesn’t do anything.
Jeannie…
You know, it’s interesting that when Jesus spoke to the weather, it was a storm. Think about that. So I’m Jesus, and I get with my Father and He talks to me about the authority that I have. And He speaks to the weather when it’s stormy. He doesn’t speak to the weather when it’s calm and tell a beautiful breeze to come through. He speaks to it when it’s stormy. And while everyone around Him is panicking.
We have the opportunity right now when people around us are panicking to use that authority and speak to the storm. And the storm is ready to listen. Do you know that? Those storms are ready to listen! To the authority that you have in Jesus’ name.
In fact, right now we wipe off all of the deception that would try to tell us that those storms aren’t ready to listen. The earth is crying out for the sons and daughters of God to be revealed. The storms are crying out for us to speak to them.
We’re going to speak to that storm. But Holy Spirit prepares us and we co-labor with Holy Spirit and we let Him convince us that those storms are ready and aching to be spoken to.
Prayed…
Clearing out in our hearts. Holy Spirit, minister to our hearts right now.
The weariness and the fog of war, we just lay it before you, Father.
Delays, denials, we lay that before you, Father.
Any losses, we lay that before you, Father.
Heartache, we lay it before you, Father.
You heal those things in us.
You heal those things in our land. You heal our land. Trauma and tragedy, be healed in our lands.
Idolatry, worshiping other gods, be healed in our land.
