Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Prayer leader Cindy…
Good morning, everybody. Welcome to morning prayer.
This is our high call…
It’s to worship you. You are worthy of our attention. You are worthy of our adoration.
You are worthy of our deferring to you and you alone in everything.
And that’s what we’re going to be doing throughout all of eternity.
Let’s not wait until heaven. Let’s just be enraptured right now in your presence.
In your glory, in your wonders of your person.
That we might know you and the power outflowing from your resurrection.
It’s the gospel. It’s the power of God unto salvation.
We have been saved. We are being saved.
And we will be saved on that day of redemption.
Perfect salvation. We’re working it out every day.
Until then with hope and expectation of the manifestation, every day of our Father.
That He wouldn’t just be manifested but recognized by those in the world.
Thank you, Father, that we are chosen vessels and the hope to which we’ve been called to be displaying your glory.
The Lord shows us the way to go…
I was praying to the Lord about that because I can go off in just all kinds of directions. I’m praying, “Lord, you always show up and you direct me in the way I should go.” Because I got like three books and different things. But there’s one verse that out of the scriptures that the Lord had me to repeat every day. I just flop out of bed and kneel at my bed and pray. And it is just an encapsulation of the Gospel.
Once, we were dead. I mean, just think about that. We have been saved from death. We were dead men walking. We were sentenced to death. There was no escaping it once we were dead, because of our disobedience and our many sins.
God is rich in mercy…
We used to live in sin just like the rest of the world. Obeying the Devil, the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God. All of us used to live that way following the passionate desires and inclinations of our sinful nature. By our very nature, we were subject to God’s anger just like everybody else. But God is so rich in mercy.
Grace and mercy go together…
Pastor Jim was talking about that last weekend that he’s listened to a gentleman over and over and really blessed by the ministry. But recently this gentleman said that as Christians, we don’t need mercy anymore. We just need grace. But you can’t find grace without God’s mercy. It’s like He gives grace to the humble, and every one of us is working out our salvation. And we don’t want to go back to this, you know, drawback to obeying the commander of the powers of the unseen world, the Devil.
So to whom you yield yourself a servant to obey his servant you are to whom you obey. Whether sin, leading to death, or obedience leading to righteousness. We have been justified.
Salvation is just the introductory offer…
But Pastor Lynne would say that’s an introductory offer. We are sealed and heaven is our home where we’ve got some things to work out. And it’s through obedience and hearing God’s voice. And this is the Gospel message. We’re no longer dead, we’re alive. Our hearts are tender and new. And He’s said to live out of our hearts in the newness of life.
We’re to glorify God in our bodies…
We used to live in sin just like the rest of the world. Obeying the Devil. Oh, that’s so distasteful. The commander of the powers in the unseen world. And the world doesn’t see it. They’re under the sway. But we see it. And that’s why we’re here. We’re here to glorify God in our bodies. We’re here to obey Him. We’re here to shine a light to those that are obeying the Devil and don’t even know it—The commander of the powers of the unseen world, the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.
Why do they refuse? Because they don’t have light.
We have a new heart…
But, Father, you have recreated us in Christ Jesus. We are born anew. Our hearts cry, Abba. We have a new heart and we obey you from a delighted… He said He gives you the delights of your heart. We delight in Him. Yes, but God is so rich in mercy and He loved us so much that even though we were dead because of our sins, He gave us life when He raised Christ from the dead. It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved. For He raised us from the dead along with Christ and seated us in the heavenly realms because we are united with Christ Jesus.
You can’t take the credit… It’s a gift from God…
So God can point to us and all future ages as examples of His incredible wealth and His grace and kindness toward us as shown in all He has done for us who are united with Christ Jesus. God saved you by His grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this. This is a gift from God. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done. So none of us can boast about it. For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus so we can do things He planned from long ago.
We go forth in His name…
He plans things for us to do. Hallelujah. We just thank you, Lord, that our names are written in the Lamb’s book of life. Hallelujah. In His name, we will cast out demons. We will lay hands on the sick. We will raise the dead. We will do all the things that He said we will do. But we are not to focus on that. We are focusing on our salvation and helping others to be saved.
The restoration! Hallelujah. Thank you, Lord.
The disciples said, “Wow. Even the demons came out because we used your name.” And Jesus said, “I saw Satan fall like lightning. Rejoice that your names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.”
Have joy in the salvation of the Lord…
Thank you, Lord, that you are training and equipping us to be of such great faith, that works by love, and also the love that shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who’s given unto us the Spirit that reveals everything… who comes up alongside and takes hold together with us in our doing the things that God has already planned long ago for us to do.
Fill our sails, Lord…
So we thank you, Lord. We’re showing up. We’re present.
And we say, “Fill our sails today, Lord.”
We will go and we will flow in those unforced rhythms of grace.
We will be full of courage.
We will know the way to go.
We will hear your voice.
You are our shepherd.
You take the reins and whatever it is that you have for us, Father, we’ll flow into it. Hallelujah. Thank you, Father, for your great salvation.
Thank you, Lord, that you are building us up together.
And you supply the joints and the ligaments because of the effectual working of each one of us doing our part.
Thank you, Father, for the gifts that you have given already.
You ascended on high and gave gifts unto men… the fivefold ministry gifts for the equipping of the saints.
And light that they would be built up for the ministry to go out.
Thank you, Father, for the building up so when we get together those of like precious faith, building ourselves up in our most holy faith.
The gifts in operation, the value, the recognition, the honor of what you’ve done already done.
In the things you’ve planned in the body of Christ and through the body of Christ.
Each one individually joined together, knitted together with the joints and ligaments that are supplied when we are working in the thing that God has called us to do.
