Morning Chapel Prayer Today
Pastor Ken…
Good morning, everyone. Happy Monday! My name is Ken. It’s good to have you with us.
We’re going to definitely do some praying. I want to first pray for the families that have been affected by the floods in Texas. And then I want to share something with you before we go back into some either worship or prayer, both.
Prayer for flood victims…
But Psalm 34:18 states this: “The Lord is near to the broken hearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” And so let’s lift up the people that have lost their lives in those floods in the hill country of Texas. But a lot of people are suffering loss today.
So, Father, we just lift up the families, the spouses, the children, the moms and dads, the grandparents and the neighbors that are experiencing loss today, due to the floods in the last few days in Texas.
We just lift them up to you. And truly, Lord, your Word is clear that you are close to those who are crushed and those who have suffered loss.
And so we just pray for the manifestation of your Holy Spirit in the lives of every one of those families that we may not know their names, but you know them, Lord.
You know them intimately. You know what they’re feeling and what they’re going through this day.
And so we just pray over them. We plead the blood of Jesus over families and households and neighborhoods and cities and that whole region of Texas today.
We pray, Lord, that may your supernatural grace and mercy be close and hover over these people, that have experienced this loss and are devastated because of a child or a loved one, or a neighbor, a family member that was swept away by the flood waters.
So today, Father, we pray for your peace and for the ministry of the Holy Spirit to flow into those areas and into those hearts and lives and homes and just minister peace and comfort and the help in the moment.
Pastor Ken shared…
Let me read something to you that honestly I don’t think I have read before. As I was preparing for this weekend services, I was looking at some things and I came across a prophetic word from Kenneth Hagin from many years ago. And as I read through it, I thought, “I have never seen this before.” But this is super timely and relevant for right now. And so I thought I would share at least an excerpt of it. But Brother Kenneth Hagin, who went on to be with the Lord, said this under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit…
Prophetic word by Kenneth Hagin…
There are those who stand here today that will not stand in this place, nor will you be the same again. You need desperately to get into your spirit what’s being taught about prayer. For you will stand in need of it. Do not treat lightly… Yes, there are lives here, families here, and even though you do not know it, it’s creeping in upon you. Darkness is creeping in on you. The enemy would endeavor to steal from you the blessing of God. The enemy would endeavor to invade your home, your lives, and marriages. But, to be forewarned is to be forearmed.”
Pastor Ken comments…
I like to say God is always out ahead of the enemy. The enemy is not all knowing, but our God is. And He has plans set in place, provision already prepared well in advance of any problem you even know at this point you’re going to have. And prayer allows us to access and release strategies, solutions, resources. As I said yesterday, it’s your ability to take from one realm and implement it into this realm.
Brother Hagin goes on to say…
…intercede against the powers of darkness. Do not stop in your prayers because things seem to change a little bit. I can hear the Spirit of God saying within my spirit, “The end of the age is coming upon this generation. The powers of darkness, the forces of evil are rampant as never before. They will be increased in intensity and velocity even many Christians will see and look upon these things and throw up their hands in futility and say, ‘Well, I guess it’s all over. We’ll just have to hold on and pray until Jesus will come shortly for the Devil is about to take everything over.’
But… the Lord says “In this day, I am searching throughout the body of Christ to enlist soldiers in the army of prayer. I’ll raise up a new band and a new army that will know how to pray against the powers of darkness and the light will dispel darkness.”
Commentary…
Aren’t you glad that light dispels darkness—every single time? You flip a switch in your room, guess what? Darkness flees. When you wake up in the morning and choose to take your stand of faith, when you choose to make your faith decrees, when you choose to intercede or just say, “Lord, what’s up?” I’m telling you, a light switch is flipped in the spirit. The enemy recognizes, “Oh my goodness, they’re up.” The children of the most high God have awakened. They’re up.
The church is awakening…
We have awakened, I believe, you know, spiritually speaking. The church is awakening. The church is arising. It’s not just something we’ve been praying for some time now. It is occurring. Take my words to the bank. The church is waking up.
The giant prophecy…
Back in the fifties in Argentina, there was a great man of God who preached that there would come a day before the coming of the son of man a second time, where the true giant, which isn’t the legacy media, nor some foreign power or even the enemy and his entities, but the church! That the bands that held them and limited them would begin to shatter and break and the true giant that’s in the earth would begin to awake and arouse itself and arise and stand up and be present on planet earth to have her way.
That giant is the church!
Because we’re the beacons and carriers of light. You may not see it or notice it in the natural, but when you begin to pray in your heavenly prayer language, when you say to the enemy, “Go!” and you stand on the Word of God regarding that, you better believe that forces of the enemy back off. They flee.
The Bible says when you resist the enemy… it implies in the Greek language where it talks about resisting the enemy that he flees as if in terror. Who must you be that your enemy who’s been around a lot longer than you have flees and is afraid of you when you walk in your spiritual endowment of authority?
I’m not saying we’re prideful of that. No. We’re humble. We know where our salvation comes from. But we can hold our heads high knowing that all of heaven backs us up when we pray, knowing that our faith decrees carry a certain supply into this realm that has to be respected because it’s the Word of God. Because it’s the Spirit of God in our declarations and in our prayers. As I said yesterday, the Holy Spirit when we pray pours into us His supplications. When you pray, He prays. He is the spirit of prayer.
Brother Kenneth Hagin goes on to say in this is inspired word…
…the darkness and the truth will set men and women free and prayer will break the bands that bind people’s minds, spirits and bodies.”
Commentary…
Hard stop. I just have to say this. One of my favorite quotes on prayer comes from Hudson Taylor, the great missionary to China. He said, “It is possible to move men through God by prayer alone.”
In other words, you are called to influence the destiny of others. You can and you are called to set people free. Yes, you may be used to call a Lazareth forth from a tomb who’s physically dead and see them revived. But you’re also called to call forth people who are dead spiritually. Many people are cowering and struggling and faltering under the weight of oppression and their past and distractions and the harassing voice of the enemy all around us.
Prayer wasn’t meant to be just a thing that’s practiced only in solitude. Yes, I get there are times of prayers of solitude and silence where it’s just you and Him. You as a single lone kneeling figure before God. But also we see in the scriptures and we see in the early church the example of people coming together in a united fashion with a loud and a clear and a singular voice to pray in agreement, to pray for one another.
You have an assignment not just to see your needs met, but to see the needs spiritually and otherwise met in the lives of people that you rub shoulders with every day, whether they’re related to you or not.
People that even in the church have a good face and they put on a good front. But if you drop down into your spirit, you’ll sense, “Oh, I can tell there’s something going on there. I can that they’re struggling in some way.” You don’t know exactly how. That’s okay. That’s why we have a super-natural technology, AKA prayer in the Spirit so we can begin to lift that one up. Or even just make mention of them by name before the throne of God that there would be a release of divine encounter and presence into their lives, to uplift them, and to shatter those bands that bind their emotions or bind their minds or cause them to falter in some way.
The anointing was sent into the earth to remove burdens and to destroy yolks. And we are called to be dealers of that anointing and that hope. In other words, we don’t have to sell it. We give it away. But we have to be cognizant and we have to be intentional to be available to the Holy Spirit to pray… to say… Sometimes you just need to speak a word of encouragement over someone or to someone. Other times we speak the Word of God or the promise of God in the form of a prayer decree over them.
Regardless, understand that it dispatches, it assigns, and delegates the anointing of God to remove burdens and destroy yolks in people’s lives where they can’t help themselves.
