Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Good morning. Happy Monday after Easter. Good to have you guys here in the chapel. My name is Ken and we’re going to flow in some prayer today. Can we do that? And just let the Spirit of God utilize us, our voice, our faith, our time to do what He wants to do through us in prayer.

God is on the move…

Heaven is flowing into the earth realm. Almost every day, we’re hearing new accounts and reports of revival breaking out, lives being changed, just outstanding things happening—miracles, signs, wonders. And today that will continue. And I don’t know about you, but that encourages me when I see things happening. Yes, we walk by faith, but it’s also encouraging to your faith to see things actually coming to light as far as what God is doing. And that, to me, just encourages me to pour more gasoline on the fire. Like, let’s pray all the more to perpetuate and propel God’s work in the earth in this last hour.

Kenneth Hagin’s book, “Following the Plan of God for Your Life”

Well, I was thinking of a couple verses this morning and I want to read something from Kenneth Hagin’s book, “Following the Plan of God for Your Life.” I won’t even show it to you because I’m sure my version of it is so old. It’s like, “Wow, Ken, Did you come from the 19 hundreds?”

Yes, I did actually.

Proverbs 3—Trust in the Lord with all your heart…

So I’m reminded of this verse found in Proverbs three. It says, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him and He shall direct your path.” Amen. Aren’t you glad that you’re not here wandering aimlessly, but that we have the great guide, the Holy Spirit, the Father of all spirits to guide us and to direct us and to lead us on our way in fulfilling what God has for our futures and our lives. God’s got good things in store for the year 2026. Things are just warming up. Things are just getting started for you and for me and the church globally.

And Brother Kenneth Hagin writes in his book, “Following the Plan of God for Your Life,” in this one chapter where he talks about maintaining a Spirit-filled life. I’m going to read a couple different excerpts, I think. But it has to do much with consecration and dedication and surrender to that plan and to the leadership of the Holy Spirit.

Proverbs 6:6…

And another verse that comes to me is found in Proverbs. We read Proverbs three. We’ll jump three chapters over to Proverbs 6:6. It says, “Go to the ant, you sluggard.” How’s that for a Monday morning? I’m not stepping on any toes, maybe just my own. “Go to the ant, you sluggard, consider her ways and be wise.”

The original definition for sluggard…

I’ll just stop there because, I thought this is interesting. Somebody pointed out that in the original language, of course, this does mean those that are slow, those that maybe aren’t putting forth the effort. Sluggard does imply that. But most fundamentally from the original language, this word sluggard implies somebody who avoids pain. In other words, you can be somebody who’s quite diligent and puts forth a lot of effort maybe in being active and doing certain things, but maybe we’re avoiding something. We’re avoiding the pain of dealing with something, of putting forth the effort in some particular area, like your spiritual life or something, or prayer.

And so I thought that was interesting. Somebody said that word “sluggard” really, from the original language, means an avoidance of pain. It doesn’t mean you’re not necessarily hardworking or diligent. It means you’re avoiding pain in some way. And so I just want you to reflect on that this morning. Where in your life have you avoided, procrastinated, put off, left to chance some aspect of your journey.

Maybe in your soul.
Maybe in forgiving someone.
Maybe in addressing something you went through.
Maybe it’s just a simple decision to give yourself to prayer in some way.

Whatever the case is, the Bible informs us and reminds us to go to the ant and to consider her ways.

Quote from brother Hagin’s book…

So, brother Hagin writes in this passage here in this chapter, “Maintaining the Spirit Filled Life,” he says, “You will not fulfill the plan of God for your life all at once. Fulfilling God’s plan for your life is a step by step-by-step journey of obedience and faithfulness to walk in the light of what you know He wants you to do each and every day. Obedience to God and His Word every day, even in the little things will help you maintain a Spirit-filled life. Also, if you want to maintain a Spirit-filled life, you must also maintain an attitude of consecration.”

You could say commitment or surrender.

“If anything is lacking in charismatic circles today, it’s a lack of teaching on consecration and sanctification. Consecration and sanctifying yourself to do the will of God is an ongoing process. In other words, you don’t just consecrate or surrender or dedicate yourself to do the will of God once and for all and you never think of it of it again. You may not always know exactly what the Lord wants you to do in specific detail, but you should always be willing to do whatever He wants you to do and to go wherever He wants you to go. You will not be able to follow God’s plan for your life unless you are willing to do whatever He might ask you to do.”

Ken’s added commentary…

And that includes maybe those things that we avoid because it’s painful, or it’s difficult, a decision, a hard conversation, a confrontation, whatever it might be. I have found sometimes the biggest spiritual steps are very practical like having a conversation with somebody that you need to confront an issue…
Or you need to forgive
Or you need to process through some pain
Or some unmet expectations
Or you need to get your house in order

As a pray-er, I challenge you…

I just challenge you as a pray-er, what have you been avoiding that seems painful or procrastinating? Maybe that’s a doorway to a supernatural promotion. Maybe that’s the pathway to what’s next that God has in store for you. And it might be really simple.

So I’m going to flip over to another section here. Brother Hagin writes this in the next chapter over, called “Consecration to God’s Plan.”

He says…

“God is looking for believers who will dedicate and consecrate themselves wholly to Him to carry out His plan for their lives, just as Jesus did at Gethsemane and throughout His earthly ministry. The Lord’s eyes roam throughout the earth to find people whose hearts are dedicated to Him.” (Of course, that’s 2nd Chronicle 16:9.) “God is looking for believers who will say as Jesus did, ‘Lord, not my will, but yours be done.’

“Also, notice Jesus didn’t just pray this prayer one time. He prayed virtually the same prayer three times in Matthew 26 also in 42 and 44. You see, the prayer of consecration is not a one-time prayer as the prayer of faith. The prayer of consecration is a prayer you pray throughout your life. You will only be able to follow God’s plan for your life if you constantly maintain an attitude of consecration and surrender to the Lord’s will or whatever it might be.”

God wants you to be willing…

In other words, you must maintain a willingness. For some that maybe is where you’re at. God is just asking you to be willing. Willing. Open to whatever that thing is. Sometimes that’s where the plan of God starts. You might even know some of what the plan is, and you say, “No, I don’t know if I want to do that, Lord. That’s hard. That’s difficult. I don’t think I’m capable.” Well, don’t worry about that. Don’t focus on that. Just open your heart and be…

Willing to give yourself to prayer
Willing to take that next step
Willing to do whatever He has for you

And that will give Him an entrance to work in you, to give you the desire, to prepare and change you and transform you so that you can take those next steps.

And then finally, if I flip over a couple more pages, he writes this…

“Many Christians have never surrendered everything to the Lord. They’re willing to make Jesus Lord of part of their lives, but sometimes they aren’t willing to give up control of certain areas of their carnal nature that they hold dear. Some believers profess they’ve laid everything on the altar, but in reality, they are holding back a part of themselves from the Lord. It’s so important to make a quality decision once and for all to go all out for God.”

God never meant for us to just coast…

That’s really simple, but that’s good to hear. I need to hear that this morning. That’s the sweet spot, where life gets really interesting and we experience a next level of joy and contentment and peace. And God didn’t intend for us to live kind of somewhere where we’re just coasting. Or in the middle. He’s called us to live “all out” for Him. “Pedal to the metal,” as I say.

Quote cont…

“That decision will be either an anchor to your soul.” Isn’t that interesting? In other words, a commitment to live all out for Him becomes an anchor to your soul, “…to keep you in God’s perfect will when the Devil tries to bring his best temptations into your life to distract and detour you from the plan of God. You see, the Devil will bid high for you. He’ll use his best temptations to try to keep you from obeying God. If you’ve never fully surrendered everything to the Lord, you stand in danger actually of being persuaded by the Devil’s temptations to pursue your own will and fleshly inclinations and desires and lose out on God’s best for you.”

It’s for our protection to give ourselves fully to Him…

So it’s to our advantages, to our benefit, to our safety and protection from the enemy’s devices and strategies and trickery and deceptions to give ourselves fully to him. So where do you need to do that today? Where do you need to surrender? What do you need to turn over to Him? What do you need to let go once and for all so that you can choose the better thing? What distractions?

Martha was distracted…

Martha, in the scriptures the Bible says was encumbered or burdened with many distractions and things that were everyday things. But it was the main thing for her. And it kept her from the best thing and the highest thing, and that was to be at the feet of Jesus having a great conversation with Him.

Brother Hagin goes on to say…

“Many Christians are at a crossroad in their lives right now. In other words, they face decisions that will affect the course of their lives. They are at a crossroad where they must decide if they are going to consecrate themselves fully to God’s will no matter what He asks them to do. Believers who stand at a crossroad can choose to follow the path of their own plans and desires. That path may look wide and bright and stretch out before them as far as their eyes can see, but if they continue to lean into their own understanding and disobey God, that straight wide path will eventually lead them into darkness. In other words, believers who don’t choose the perfect will of God will encounter trials in life God never intended them to encounter.”

Oh, come on now, right there, there’s an answer for somebody. Maybe online. Maybe in here. There’s an answer. You’re encountering trials. You’re going through adversities, maybe simply because you’ve not fully surrendered to Him. I’ll just leave it at that. And contended in your prayer life for the perfect will of God.

He goes on to say…

“On the other hand, the path God has planned for obedient believers may be a narrow path that goes over mountains and through valleys. God’s path might have bends and curves in it that sometimes obscure their view. Believers who follow God’s way may not always be able to see very far down the path because following God is a step-by-step walk of faith and obedience. But despite the difficulties that lie on the path of obedience, such a great future in the Lord awaits those who choose to walk in God’s ways.”

That’s a good reminder.

He goes on to say in this last section…

“Your path will grow brighter and brighter, and many other lives will be influenced for Jesus because of your obedience. For you see, it is on the path of obedience where God reveals His glory and your strength is renewed day by day.”

I would add to that…

It’s on that path where you say, “Lord, not my will, but yours be done.” Less of me, more of you. I want what you want, Lord, that’s my prayer today. It’s on that path of His plan and divine intent for your life, where you will find all that has been prepared for you personally and in every other way that pertains to your life, that pertains to godliness. It’s on that path. Not your path. It’s on His path.
