Morning Chapel Prayer Playlist
Morning Chapel Prayer Today

Pastor Ken…

Well, hello everyone. It is Friday the 13th. It means it’s going to be a good day for those of us who are in Christ Jesus, who are called by His name. Good to have you with us. I wanted to start off by sharing Psalm 16 from the New Living Translation. Just to start us off with something to reflect on.

Psalm 16:5 says…

“Lord, you alone are my inheritance, my cup of blessing. You guard all that is mine. The land that you have given me is a pleasant land. What a wonderful inheritance. I will bless the Lord who guides me. Even at night My heart instructs me. I know the Lord is always with me. I will not be shaken, for He is right beside me. No wonder my heart is glad and I rejoice. My body rests in safety, for you will not leave my soul among the dead or allow your holy one to rot in the grave.” Of course, that’s prophetic of Jesus. “You will show me the way of life, granting me the joy of your presence and the pleasures of living with you forever.”

Create a supernatural connection with God…

Isn’t that a good thought this Friday morning? Let me add to that, just a reminder about the importance of being filled with the presence of God, being filled with the Word of God. Because when you connect with God, when you yield to Him through time in His presence, time in His Word, you create a supernatural connection. And you make it possible for heaven to flow. It’s been said that when you worship God, it brings the anointing, right? And it’s the anointing that destroys the yoke of the enemy. And so, there’s a flow. Heaven is a flow, as I’ve often said.

Scriptures about being filled with the Spirit…

And I guess to remind us about some of these things, let me remind you of a couple passages of scripture about being filled with the Spirit of God. And then I’m going to read a passage from Nancy Dufresne’s book on the “Supernatural Prayer Life” about this very fact. Prayer is, once again, a partnership with God the Holy Spirit. a.k.a the Spirit of prayer. And I believe He has some things He wants to decree through us. He has some things He wants to pray through us. He’s got some supernatural strategies He wants us to deploy in the spirit through prayer today that are going to shake situations up for the better that are going to prepare the way for God to unfold His plan further. But God is able to do what He wants to do…

Because we surrender to Him
Because we yield to Him
Because we are filled with Him

And the more full you are of the Spirit, the more you possess His wisdom and you know the will of God. And we as pray-ers know how to pray effectively so that God’s plan can go forth. But just as a simple reminder, be prompted in your heart that

Acts 4:8 says…

“Then Peter filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them.”

Acts 4:31, speaking of the early Christians, it says…

“They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the Word of God boldly.”

Acts 6:3 reminds us that…

“Seven men were chosen and they were full of the spirit and wisdom.” By the way, it’s not coincidental. They were filled with wisdom at the same time they were filled with the Spirit. When you get filled with the Spirit, you are full and you have activated the genius of Jesus, the Holy Spirit in all His wisdom.

Acts 7:55 says…

“But Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, looked up to heaven.”

Acts 9:17 says…

“Brother Saul has sent me so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit.” So clearly there’s a pattern here. God’s will is that we would be filled with the Spirit, whether we’re in the pulpit or we’re a teacher in a classroom, whether we’re a mom or a dad, or a business owner, an entrepreneur, an everyday person doing what you do, God always intended that we would live filled to the brim with the Spirit of God, filled up with God, with His anointing, with His presence, so that what we do is not done in the strength of our ability and power, but in His wisdom and power. Not by our limitedness, but by His Spirit, in other words.

Acts 13:52 says…

“The disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.” Now let me shift gears and just read a portion of Nancy Dufresne’s chapter on “Living Full of the Spirit.”

She writes…

“Living full of the Spirit is the only way to accomplish living in its highest sense.” In other words, for you to live in the highest order or sense, you must live full of God the Holy Spirit. She says, “It is the only way to be the supply God intended for us to be. To live and to minister in the power of the Spirit is the only kind of life and ministry that will flourish and finish its course. The life of Smith Wigglesworth was earmarked by the fullness of the Spirit and the flow of the supernatural.”

We are stepping into an era of where we are demonstrators…

Just so you know or be reminded, we are stepping into an era where God wants the supernatural-ness of heaven to come through in our realm. He desires every one of His followers, every one of us, in other words, to be demonstrators. Back in the day, in agricultural circles and realms, they used to put out what’s called a demonstrator tractor. They would demonstrate the capabilities of a new model of machinery or line of tractors.

Well, guess what? God has sent us here to be demonstrators. We’re here to demonstrate what God is capable of doing. And He wants to do that through each and every one of us, not just a few celebrity evangelists or healing revivalists or something. Every one of us are to be candidates. Every one of us have a call on our lives to demonstrate the goodness of God, to demonstrate the supernatural-ness of God.

She says…

“The following are some quotes that give us insight into the life in the spirit of Smith Wigglesworth. He once said, ‘Only one thing will meet the needs of the people, and that is for you to be immersed in the life of God.’ It was said of Katherine Kuhlman that she lived her life in such a way.”

In other words, she lived in intimacy and in the fullness of the Spirit so that others could receive their miracle easily. In other words, how you and I live our lives today, how we pray today will impact somebody that you meet later on today. And whether or not they receive a word of wisdom, are encouraged, or receive a miracle, maybe. So, in other words, how we live our lives makes it possible for others to come to faith in Jesus, for others to receive their miracle, for others to be impacted positively because of that anointing that is stirred up in us and resident upon us.

So Wigglesworth also said this…

“If you find me on the street or anywhere else, if I’m alone, I will be talking to God. I make it my business to talk to God all the time. If I wake up in the night, I make it my business to pray. I believe that’s the reason God keeps me right, always right, always ready.”

I like that.

He also said this…

“I have revival everywhere I go because I live full of the Spirit. Nothing is impossible to a man or a woman filled with the Holy Spirit.”

So this is a key. This is a great key. I guarantee you, good things are going to begin to unfold for you in new and even unprecedented (and I would add) unexpected ways for you. Even today, as you choose a life full of the Spirit. When you feed on His Word, you’re becoming full of His Word and His presence. When you pray in the Spirit, you’re becoming full of the presence of the Holy Spirit.

He said…

“Being filled with the Spirit is worthwhile no matter what it costs. I see anything not done in the spirit as a failure.”

Ooh, that’s good. Think about that. I think there’s a lot of things we do in our lives, I’m convinced that we feel good about maybe in the moment because we were active or we were productive, we think, in some way from some natural standpoint. But that doesn’t necessarily mean we were being productive from a kingdom standpoint.

Jesus demonstrated God…

And the reason Jesus prioritized time and intimacy and time alone with His Father is because… Well, He stated it clearly. He says, “I don’t say anything unless I first hear my Father say it. And I don’t want to do anything unless I first see my Father do it in my heart in my time with Him.”

That’s what God wants us to be productive in. And that’s what will cause our lives to be in alignment with His will and also be sustained. Because some, I think… and I’ve been guilty of it as well… are doing life in an unsustainable way where we’re always running at Mach 10 with our hair on fire. We’re always exhausted, late, behind, forgetful, tired.

Let’s get back to the original template…

Well, I would suggest to you that maybe there needs to be a recalibration of sorts. Maybe we need to get back to God’s original template that Jesus left us, which was to seek first the kingdom of God and His rightness. Which was to live full of the Spirit so that what we step into, what we engage with on a daily basis is not our will, but His will. It’s not the establishment of our kingdom on earth, but God’s kingdom on earth.
