Morning Prayer Summary for Friday, September 9, 2022

Pastor Dustin goes back and forth with praying and teaching at the same time…

I just had in my spirit this morning that we should spend some time praying in tongues, yielding ourselves over to praying in the Spirit. So let’s just do that. One of the reasons is because I believe that God wants to do something in your life, in this church, in the world right now that’s far beyond our understanding. And when we pray in the Spirit, we pray out mysteries. We pray out the perfect plan of God… His perfect will. And we can’t afford to limit Him or limit ourselves with our own understanding. Jesus said, “I’m leaving. But it’s better for you that I go because I’m sending you the gift. I’m sending you the counselor, the intercessor, the advocate, the strengthener, the standby, the ever-present help in times of trouble.” He said, I’m sending you the paraclete, the one who will come up alongside of you and aid you and support you and help you. The Holy Spirit is a gift from God to you, to help you, to empower you, to enable you, to equip you.

Don’t presume you can live life without His help…

Don’t presume that you can accomplish this amazing plan that God has for your life on your own. Don’t presume that you can live life without His help. Jesus said you’ve gotta have Him, so I’m sending Him to you. Oh, you’ve got to put in the time. When you’re praying in the Spirit, you’ve got to cultivate this flow in your life, this relationship in your life… where you yield yourself over to Him, where you practice responding to His voice throughout the day. We’re living in a time where it’s more important now than ever that we walk accurately by the Spirit… living out of your own understanding isn’t going to work like it used to. Living out of your own understanding won’t do anymore. He gave you a brain to use. I’m not saying ignore everything that you know, but I’m saying that we need to be willing to look to Him and respond to Him and certainly include Him in our decision making. Look to Him, acknowledge Him in all of your ways. That’s not a suggestion. That’s not saying if you think you can do it, try to do it. No! It says you need to do this. Look to Him in all of your ways.

He will keep you on track…

And then what will He do? He will keep you on track. He will keep you in the secret place where you are not touched by the enemy. The Devil will set up traps and snares and all of these things to try to take you out. And the Spirit of God will just lead you around all of it. You know that they tried to kill Jesus before His time. And the Spirit of God wouldn’t allow it, but He was led. Jesus said, I only do what I see the Father do. And I only say what I hear the Father says. They tried to throw Him over a cliff at one point before it was His time. And the Bible says that Jesus walked right through them. Either God gave Him the ability to just pass and walk through people or everybody’s eyes were blinded. Regardless, the enemy had a plan to take Him out. But the Spirit of God led Him through it.

Don’t make your focus the plans of the enemy…

Make your focus the Spirit of God and allowing Him to lead you and whatever the enemy throws in front of you, He will lead you through it. He will lead you around it. So what the enemy intended for evil, God will turn around for His glory. What the enemy intended to take you out, the Spirit of God will lead you through it and you’ll come out better and stronger. You’ll come out with a testimony. This is going to happen when you yield yourself over and respond to Him. Get out of autopilot. And start checking in with Him. I’m not saying you need to take three weeks to make a decision all the time, but just look to Him. Listen to Him, include Him.

You will marvel…

You’ll look back at times… You’ll do things that seem strange. They might seem unusual. They might not be the way everybody else is doing it, but you’ll look back as you allow Him to lead you. You’ll look back and you’ll see what a genius He is. You’ll see how smart God is. Do you know that God is smarter than you? I’m not saying that to be rude. It’s just the reality. And it’s the truth of it. He’s smarter than you are so you can trust Him.

Prayer for illumination…

Father, I thank you for revelation to every believer, revelation of who they are, revelation of who you are, revelation of what you’ve called them to do. Not just in a general sense, but specific steps. Illumination, things being made clear. Being able to see it. Like you’ve never seen it before. Yes, yes. Seeing and knowing.

Stop saying, “I don’t know…”

This isn’t something to get condemned about, but I thought of this as we were praying. Stop saying, “I don’t know.” Stop saying, “I don’t know” all the time. If there’s something that you’re stuck on, just don’t let that come out of your mouth anymore. “I don’t know.” You can say other things. You can say, “The Lord’s going to show me.” That’s faith. You understand that’s faith. The Lord’s going to show me. He’s in the process of revealing that to me. I believe the Lord’s going to make that clear to me. The Bible says that you are His sheep and you know His voice. Let that become real to you. It would be good for you to say that throughout the day. “I’m His sheep. I know His voice. The voice of a stranger, I don’t listen to. I don’t follow. I know His voice. I’m familiar with His voice.”

Don’t believe the lie that God’s voice is unfamiliar…

So many believers have believed a lie about that. They think that God’s voice is unfamiliar. They think that God’s voice is unclear. It’s a lie from the enemy to deceive you, to make you lose hope so that you stop trying to even look to God and hear His voice. You just default to your own understanding and your own way of thinking and your own way of doing no. No, no, no. The Bible says that you are His sheep. You hear His voice. You know His voice. His voice is clear.

Prayer to be able to hear God’s voice…

Father, I thank you that we hear your voice. I pray that we wouldn’t be led by our own understanding. We wouldn’t be led by other people’s opinions. We wouldn’t be led by fear of failure. We wouldn’t be led by external pressure. We would be led internally by your Spirit. We would be led by your Spirit. Like Jesus said, “Lord, I pray that we would get to that place where we only do what we see you do. And we only say what we hear you say.” I pray that we would walk accurately by your Spirit.

It starts with expectation…

The members of Living Word Christian Center would walk accurately by your Spirit. Let that be your expectation. It doesn’t always happen all at once, but it starts with looking for it. It starts with believing that it’s possible. It starts with an expectation in your heart. It starts with a changing the way that you think about it.

And you won’t just immediately step into perfection, but you can start getting better, more accurate. You can start doing better with it. Jesus said there are many voices in this world. There are many things that will try to lead you. Many people that will try to lead you … many things that will try to lead you. We have to be locked into Him. We have to have our eyes on Him. We have to have our minds renewed to His Word.

Be transformed by the renewing of your mind…

He says don’t be conformed to the pattern of this world. Don’t be like everybody else. He says be transformed. By what? By the renewing of your mind. By changing the way that you think. By changing what you fill your mind with. It’s going to change every other part of your life.

One translation says “Don’t become so well adjusted to the culture around you that you fit into it without even thinking.” Don’t become so well adjusted to the world around you, to the culture around you. That you’re just like everybody else. You’re doing things the way they do things. You’re thinking like they think. It says don’t do that. Why would He say don’t do that? He would say don’t do that because, one, we’re not supposed to. But, two, because I think there’s a natural temptation that would try to pull you in that direction. It’s like a river, like if you aren’t consciously doing something different, if you aren’t making an effort to renew your mind to God’s Word, then don’t imagine you’re going to have a different outcome than other people. Don’t imagine that your life is going to go a different direction. If you’re doing what everybody else is doing, then you’re going to end up where they end up. Right?

And so He said, if you don’t make a consistent effort to renew your mind to the Word of God, then you’re going to end up thinking like everybody else. And the Bible says that as a man thinketh in His heart so is he. And so the battle is for how you think. And the Lord said if you renew your mind to the Word of God, you will be changed and transformed.

What do you give your mind to?

What do you think on? What do you meditate on? What do you mull over? Are they things that build faith? Are they things that encourage you? Are they things that strengthen you? Is it the Word of God? Because it makes a difference.

Sister Barb also prays and teaches at the same time…

So let’s lean into the Spirit right now and be intentional with your tongues. As we lift our voices to the Lord … Lean in. Lean in! And you will see Him expand your tongues. You will see Him expand your language. He has so much more. It’s time for an expansion of your spiritual language. Speaking with the tongue of men and angels. He wants you to speak in the tongues in the languages of the peoples of the earth… language you know not of. So yield yourself now. New tongues. New tongues. New tongues. To take you into the deeper places. You need new tongues, new tongues to finish the race. Let the Holy Spirit pray through you. Let Him use the language He wants to use. Obey. More … more words, more words.

So when you pray, you are even preaching to another nation, to another tongue. When you yield your tongue to the Holy Spirit, your feet may never touch the soil, but your words go forth and that preaching goes forth by the Spirit. So yield yourself to that tongue of the Holy Spirit.

Now, now, now, Father, tongues … assignments … assign tongues … assignments, Father, assignments by the Spirit

Leading, leading, leading… Doors open to you… more, more. Thank you, Jesus

Open, open, open, Lord. Thank you, Lord. All the ways… all the ways open… open, open by your Spirit. Global invasion of the spirit… right now, as we lift our voices… praying out your will … speaking your words for … Thank you, Lord. Hallelujah.

Pastor Dustin…

Translated in the spirit…

“As you yield to this,” I heard as she was praying, “the door will open to more.” And I’m not going to be quick to say what that is, because I feel like there’s a lot to that. But as you yield yourself over and pray in the Spirit like this, doors will open to more. Let’s not forget that when we pray in the Spirit, when you step out in this way and begin to yield to Him and pray in the Spirit, there are so many testimonies of people who’ve been translated. There are so many testimonies of people who find themselves in a different place. Sometimes physically, sometimes spiritually. They find themselves in a different place in the world and they’re ministering to lots of people. They’re ministering to an individual.

Prayer assignments for nations…

Oh and as you were praying, that’s what I began to see. If I have a problem, I’m stressed out or I need to do something so I’m going to like “machine gun” prey in tongues. There’s a devotional tongue. But then you have the gift of tongues where there’s interpretation. And then remember, this is the access. This is like the door where you begin to step into the supernatural, for lack of a better way to say it. And the Spirit of God… Oh my goodness, what can He do? What can He do? I know of people who’ve had prayer assignments for nations and when they begin to yield themselves over and pray in tongues, they’re praying in a language that they don’t know. But it’s an earthly language and they’re ministering to people. Whether they’re in the body or out of the body, like the apostle Paul said, sometimes they don’t know. But it’s like the Lord will take them to different nations and they’ll pray over nations. They’ll pray over borders.

Phil Halverson…

There’s a story about Phil Halverson who used to pray here years ago before he went home with the Lord and was one of the people that was a part of this church in the early stages of it. And there were stories about times where he would pray in the spirit and he would see himself… There was one story in particular, he saw himself in a hospital room and he was praying for this person. And he just thought he was seeing it in His mind. And the person called Him and thanked Him for coming to their hospital in a different state and praying for him. And he didn’t even know that he had gone to that hospital, like physically. And he still, from what I was told, it didn’t sound like he knew. Was it my spirit that was there? And for him, it was like was I there in the spirit? Or physically was I there? The truth is it doesn’t really matter. God did what He needed to do.

Doors to more…

But as you were praying, I just kept getting this thing in my heart … “doors to more.” Step into those things. The Lord will open those doors. I’ve heard Pastor Kent when he talks about praying in this spirit, how sometimes he’ll see himself in like this huge hallway with lots of doors and the Lord will lead him which door to go into. This is something he just sees in His mind, in His heart, like with His imagination. And the Lord will lead him which door to go into. And he said every door that he steps into there’s a different assignment. It’s like a different assignment, a different place, different people that he’s praying for. And so, as you pray in the Spirit, the Spirit will help you pray more accurately. He’ll help you pray out what languages. He’ll expand your prayer language. Like when you pray in the Spirit, He’ll give you words to pray out, not just English words. But He’ll give you tongues, specific tongues to pray out, specific utterances to pray out.

Don’t put a limitation on God…

And He wants us to help us be more accurate even in how we pray in the Spirit. So don’t put a limitation on what this looks like in your life. Obviously, the Word of God is our boundary. But don’t put a limitation on how God can work through you in this way. Because you might say, “Well, I’m not a missionary,” because you’re looking at your natural circumstances. I have small children or I have a job or I’m retired, or I’m confined to this building or whatever the situation may be. But what if you would close your eyes and begin to pray in this Spirit? And God would translate you to a person in another part of the world who needs encouragement. And you could flow in the gifts of this Spirit. Words of knowledge to this person. He’s God! What can’t He do? He can do anything. He won’t violate His Word, but He can do anything. He could put you before Kings. He could put you before dictators.

The testimony of Saul…

I mean, Saul before he was Paul, he was a terrorist, terrorizing Christians. And Jesus knocked Him off the donkey and changed His life. I wonder how the Lord wants to use you during times of prayer. Oh my goodness. What could He do if we would yield ourselves over and respond to His voice? If He’s done it for people like Pastor Kent, if he’s done it for people like Phil Halverson, if He’s done it for people like Pastor Lynne. Oh my goodness. He’s no respecter of persons. Just cooperate with Him. And it’s okay to have a hunger, to have a desire. It’s okay to have an expectation for this. Don’t force it. Don’t try to control Him. Yield to Him. And He will grow you and develop you and give you new prayer languages and new insight and new revelation. And He’ll begin to expand you and give you new experiences in Him. And you’ll begin to see new doors open to you. New assignments. As you’ve proven yourself faithful, as you’ve learned to be faithful in these other things, He’ll begin to open up more and more to you. And He’ll open up new doors for you and you’ll step into them and you’ll know how to hear His voice and you’ll know how to walk accurately. And you could find yourself in different nations. You could find yourself standing before people that you hadn’t met yet.

Sister Barb…

I’m reminded of several years ago, my sister was really sick and she woke up in the middle of the night and she saw my husband and I standing there laying hands on her. She’s in California and we’re in Minnesota. And she said she could feel our hands on her. And we were praying for her and she was healed. So, you know, you may not know unless somebody tells you. You may not know where you travel to when you’re praying in the Spirit.

Even at night, when you’re sleeping, the Holy Spirit isn’t asleep within inside of you. So even when you sleep, you might dream something and you think, “Oh, I had this really cool dream.” Well, maybe that really happened! This is real! These things really happened. And you can travel in your spirit.

Holy Ghost passport…

And I heard the Holy Spirit say, “Receive your Holy Ghost passport.” You’re receiving your passport today to travel. Not just in the natural. But traveling in the spirit, literally you can have an adventure every single day in the Holy Spirit. You can go places you don’t even know. You’re just praying. You’re enjoying yourself in the Holy Ghost. You’re praying in the spirit. You’re praying in tongues and He’s taking you places. He’s reaching people. He’s taking you to continents. He’s taking you… who knows up into space! Wherever. He’s taking you places and you’re traveling in the spirit.

Experience life the way God has it…

And so God put His Spirit in us so that we could have so much fun. I’m telling you, we make life and life with the Lord kind of hard sometimes and He put His spirit in us so that we could experience life the way He has it. The way that God is in His bigness and greatness. And we think of “what can God do?” God can do anything! And that unlimitedness is in us! We are unlimited. We are not limited by this physical body, to this physical earth. By our spirit, we can do so many things.

When you’re driving in the car. I am never quiet in the car. I had a friend driving by one day, they’re trying to get my attention. I didn’t know. She told me later. But what am I doing? I’m in the Holy Ghost. I’m singing in the Holy Ghost. I’m praying in the Holy Ghost. And my friend said we were waving and trying to… I said, “You know what I’m doing in the car? I’m not paying attention to what’s going on around me. God gets me where I need to go and I don’t get in accidents, but I am with God. We are enjoying His presence together. And I’m yielding myself to the Spirit because there’s no time lost.” I don’t listen to the radio. Why do I want to listen to the radio when I can listen to Holy Ghost 101! Whatever, you know. I’d rather tune into that and yield to the Spirit that way. And oh, it’s so wonderful.

My friend drove us to the airport one time and I always sing. I love singing in the Spirit in my car. And so she was going to drop us off. And she said, “You know, when I got in your car to drive back to your house, just the presence of God in your car. I was just so caught up in the spirit.” And I said, “Well, that’s because it gets into stuff. The anointing gets into things.” So when you’re constantly yielding yourself to the Spirit, it’s going to get into the bench where you’re sitting. It’s going to get into your car seats. It’s going to get into your cubicle at work. It’s going to get into the people around you. So it’s good to just be that source of the Holy Spirit going out and yielding out to the people.

It’s easy to yield to Him…

And so just continued to just… I don’t like to say press because that sounds like work. But it’s an easy thing, really. I mean, opening your mouth. You’re turning on the radio. It’s easy for you to sing a secular song. How easy to just open your mouth and sing in the spirit. Hallelujah. So thank you, Jesus. We yield ourselves again.
