Prayer Summary for Wednesday, February 8, 2017

Pastor Ray shared…

I’ve noticed maybe ever since the election, that I feel like I have given too much attention to the news. I remember doing that with President Bush and Al Gore when it was a couple months before it was determined that President Bush was the winner. There were the “hanging chads” problem. I started watching the news and everything that I could get.

I was listening online to some meetings from the Greater Faith Conference being held this week at brother Keith Moore’s church in Sarasota, Florida. He reminded everyone of the time Brother Hagin had a visitation from the Lord. He told him to go back and teach the basics of faith. The Lord said, “You have been doing this for 30 or 40 years; go back and begin to teach all over again the basics of faith so people would receive it and walk in it.” So brother Keith was talking about keeping ourselves in a place of faith. One thing that works against that is too much media and too little Word. Thank God we are in a Word church here. The Word, the Word, the Word.

We had a meeting on Monday with Mark Miller who is a financial expert that goes here. He spoke to the pastors on Monday morning and he is so positive. He met with us in 2008 when everything went down the tubes. People were cashing in whatever they could to get out of stocks or whatever. He said “Do not do it. Stick with it because the market in 6 or 7 years will be up around 13,000.” Well now it’s over twenty. So he reminded everyone that there is a pendulum. Everything swings. It goes this way and it goes that way but in general… Like he said, just try to show up at Pittsburg Blue at 8 p.m. and see if you can get in without a reservation. And that’s not an inexpensive restaurant but all the good restaurants, the Mall of America, business is happening and it’s going to be better and better. He said “Don’t get so focused on the negative things that are being said but focus in on the Word and what God has said. If we sow, we will reap.” So, I would like to spend 20 minutes or so just thinking about Him, looking to heaven, checking our hearts, and taking our places at our heavenly seat. We overcome by the blood. We have overcome because He did.

One of the things that Pastor Keith Moore said was to stay stirred in our faith. We know how to do that. We have been taught how to do that. So it does have a lot to do with what we focus on, what we watch, what we hear. Isn’t that right?

Scripture focus…

(1) Light, space, zest—
that’s God!
So, with him on my side I’m fearless,
afraid of no one and nothing.
(2) When vandal hordes ride down
ready to eat me alive,
Those bullies and toughs
fall flat on their faces.
(3) When besieged,
I’m calm as a baby.
When all hell breaks loose,
I’m collected and cool.
(4) I’m asking God for one thing,
only one thing:
To live with him in his house
my whole life long.
I’ll contemplate his beauty;
I’ll study at his feet.
(5) That’s the only quiet, secure place
in a noisy world,
The perfect getaway,
far from the buzz of traffic.
(6) God holds me head and shoulders
above all who try to pull me down.
I’m headed for his place to offer anthems
that will raise the roof!
Already I’m singing God-songs;
I’m making music to God.
(7–9) Listen, God, I’m calling at the top of my lungs:
“Be good to me! Answer me!”
When my heart whispered, “Seek God,”
my whole being replied,
“I’m seeking him!”
Don’t hide from me now!
(9–10) You’ve always been right there for me;
don’t turn your back on me now.
Don’t throw me out, don’t abandon me;
you’ve always kept the door open.
My father and mother walked out and left me,
but God took me in.
(11–12) Point me down your highway, God;
direct me along a well-lighted street;
show my enemies whose side you’re on.
Don’t throw me to the dogs,
those liars who are out to get me,
filling the air with their threats.
(13–14) I’m sure now I’ll see God’s goodness
in the exuberant earth.
Stay with God!
Take heart. Don’t quit.
I’ll say it again:
Stay with God. Psalm 27 (MSG)

Pastor Ray shared…
