Prayer Summary for Tuesday, October 06, 2015

Pastor Ray shared…

Tomorrow, Pastor Lynne will be here. She’ll be making an appearance in the chapel live! She’ll be using Periscope. Have you heard of Periscope? I’ll try to explain what it is. It’s an app you download. The Periscope site describes it as: “Periscope lets you broadcast live video to the world. Going live will instantly notify your followers who can join, comment, and send you hearts in real time.”

Pastor Lynne first used Periscope a month ago when she was in Texas at the prayer conference at Pearson’s. This reaches worldwide. You go live using your phone or iPad. Some people have a stand where they put their iPad on there, turn it on, boom, you’re live. You can’t see anyone, but they can hear and see you. They can comment by text while you’re broadcasting live. People are using it for all kinds of reasons. It’s another way to communicate.

She said in Texas there were at one point… granted it was a prayer conference so many more people knew about it. But there were 80 different countries represented watching through Periscope. It’s not online like we do on Thursdays. It goes everywhere also but we need cameras for that and we need it streamed out. To use Periscope, you just click on the app. But before you broadcast, you have to put it out on your media connections so people will know you’ll be on. Does that make sense?

Pastor Lynne told me that there was a group of people from Dubai that started messaging, having never heard what they were talking about concerning prayer. So there was a connection made in Dubai just because of this going out live. So it’s far reaching. I’m telling you about something I’ve never done, so I feel like I’m trying to tell you how to drive, having never driven before. But she’ll do it and we’ll see how that works tomorrow. But I wanted you to be aware of it. It’s another way to connect with people.

I found something I wanted to read to you in the publication Herald of His Coming. This is about a revival that took place in Germany years ago.

THE EXALTATION OF CHRIST by John Greenfield

One mark of a genuine baptism with the Holy Spirit is the exaltation of Christ. “He shall glorify me,” saith Jesus with reference to the promised Paraclete (John 16:14). One result of Pentecost in apostolic days was the determination “to know nothing among them save Jesus Christ and Him crucified” (Acts 2:23; 3:15; 4:10; 1 Cor. 2:2). This is exactly what happened two centuries ago in Herrnhut, Germany (during the great Moravian revival). They were all filled with the Holy Spirit and became witnesses of Christ and Him crucified. One of their number, John Cennick, truly set this forth in the stanza:

Christ is our Master, Lord and God,
The fullness of the Three in One;
His life, death, righteousness, and blood,
Our faith’s foundation are alone;
His godhead and His death shall be
Our theme to all eternity.”

The baptism with the Holy Spirit caused the renewed Moravian church to see no man save Jesus only. Their spiritual vision became so keen that they could “see Him who is invisible” (Heb. 11:27). The form in which He appeared to them most frequently was when He was “led as a Lamb to the slaughter, wounded for their transgressions and bruised for their iniquities” (see Isa. 53).

In this divine presence of their bleeding and dying Lord, they were overwhelmed with their own sinfulness and with His more abounding grace. Hushed were their controversies and quarrels, crucified were their passions and pride as they grazed upon the agonies of their “expiring God.” With the apostle, they learned to die daily unto the world, the flesh and the devil, and to live for Him who died for them. Henceforth their one passion was to gaze upon the King in His beauty and to proclaim the “slaughtered Lamb” as the “chief among ten thousand” and “the one altogether lovely” (Song 5:10, 16). They did exactly what they sang:

Then will I tell to sinners ‘round,
What a dear Savior I have found;
I’ll point to the atoning blood
Behold the way to God.

Their prayers, their litanies, their hymns, their conversation and their sermons had one theme, namely, the wounds, the blood and death of Jesus. Their great leader, Count Zinzendorf, set this forth most clearly in his famous hymn:

The Savior’s blood and righteousness
My beauty is, my glorious dress;
Thus well arrayed, I need not fear,
When in His presence I appear.

The holy, spotless Lamb of God,
Who freely gave His life and blood,
For all my numerous sins to atone,
I for my Lord and Savior own.

In Him I trust for evermore;
He hath expunged the dreadful score
Of all my guilt; this done away,
I need not fear the judgment day.

Therefore my Savior’s blood and death
Are here the substance of my faith;
And shall remain, when I’m called hence,
My only hope and confidence.

How many thousands have been brought to Jesus by this hymn, eternity alone can reveal. Moravian sermons were just as full of Christ and His atonement as were Moravian hymns. In one of Count Zinzendorf’s letters, we find the following declaration:

“Our method in proclaiming salvation is this: to point out the Living Lamb, who died for us and although He was the Son of God offered Himself for our sins—to every heart, as his God, his mediator between God and man, his throne of grace, his example, his brother, his preacher of the law, his comforter, his confessor, his Savior, in short, his all in all—by the preaching of His blood, and of His love unto death, even the death of the Cross.

“Never, either in the discourse or in the argument, to digress even for a quarter of an hour from the Loving Lamb; to name no virtue except in Him, and from Him and on His account; to preach no commandment except faith in Him; no other justification but that He atone for us; no other sanctification but the privilege to sin no more; no other happiness but to be near Him, to think of Him and do His pleasure; no other self-denial but to be deprived of Him and His blessings; no other calamity but to displease Him; no other life but in Him.” [end quote]

In other words, it’s all about Him. And I like the way they focused in on what He did. I think sometimes maybe we pull back a little and we’re not so much thinking about what was done on the cross. I know we know what He did for us. I know we know about His grace for these days that we’re living in. Every day is a new day but sometimes we just don’t think about it as much. I like how they said that when they kept their eyes on Him and the blood that He shed and the beating that He went through, it worked in them to walk their lives out in a way that He called them to walk it out—to look up and keep tuning in to Him.

The instant that Mary started to sing, I saw the Eiffel Tower in my spirit. I haven’t been looking at the Eiffel Tower or thinking about it. Let’s bring that before the Lord. Father, we lift that monument before you. It stands out all over the earth. We plead the blood of the Lamb over it for protection today. We plead the blood around every part of it in Jesus’ name. We pray over those that have been set there for protection. We protect them by the blood of the Lamb. We declare safety there in Jesus’ name. That every hidden thing would be brought to light. Every plan of the enemy would be uncovered and no weapon formed against that building or that area or even in that city. We lean not on our own understanding but we lift this up. [praying in the spirit]

Prayed…

Uncovered, revealed
The plans of the enemy to disrupt city after city and nation after nation
We hold the blood of the Lamb against those plans
We speak it, declare it, believe in it, and apply it
From one nation to another, across the earth
We cover and plead the blood over the nations
We pray over the police and the FBI, the military
Eyes be opened, ears be opened in Jesus’ name
NO! that will not…
We hold the blood there in the name of Jesus
Stability, a strengthening, the anointing
We pray over Israel and we cover that land in Jesus’ name
We pray around the borders of Israel
Nothing broken in the name of Jesus
Hidden things, be revealed
Attacks, be uncovered and brought to naught
We pray for Israel’s leadership, for the Prime Minister
We stand with you and beside you
Protection in Jesus’ name
Prepare the way for a paradigm shift, for a turnaround
For the United States of America—one nation under God
We prepare the way for the right way
For alignment—aligning things in the right way
Every lie be exposed and uncovered
Revealed! Uncovered every hidden thing!
We declare we shall move in God’s way
We’re voting for revival today, for the glory of God today
One nation under God indivisible
We’re bringing these things before You, Father
You know what needs to take place
You know the one that needs to occupy that place
We pray over Washington DC, the White House, the Congress and Senate
Things are being uncovered right now
As we get closer and closer, more and more shall be uncovered
If not now, when?
We pray over the Church to do its part
No more status quo but changing for the new

I’m reminded how yesterday we said “Let the weak say I’m strong.” We speak that over this United States of America in ways where it’s been weakened, we declare it shall be strengthened by the power of the precious blood and in the authority in the name that is above every other name. In advance, we thank You for the great outpouring upon this nation.
