Prayer Summary for Thursday, July 30, 2015

Erika shared…

Filled with His glory, lost in His presence, swept away in the arms of His love, walk in the Spirit, have divine visitation… and why do we have all those things? So we can say we did? But for His plan—to make the glorious Church glorious! Amen? So that the world can see and know this precious One we love.

This morning we’re going to continue to pray for the Church. But we also have other projects we’re praying about, for kings and all those in authority. It’s by the Holy Ghost that we do all of these things. I’m going to read again from Patsy Cameneti’s book, For Such a Time as This:

“For four years, my husband, Tony, and our daughters and I lived on the island of Singapore. Occasionally we took a cable car to a smaller island called Sentosa. The cable car travels along a strong cable which is securely fastened high above the ground between two grand towers. One on Singapore and the other on Sentosa. This scene illustrates something of equal significance to me. There are two major events on God’s calendar which give Christians purpose and direction for their lives. One is the First Coming of Jesus, and the other is His Second Coming. When we accept Jesus as our personal Savior, our lives pictured by the cable are lifted up from the ground and fastened onto the first tower, the First Coming of Jesus and the redemptive work for which He came. But without the second tower, the second tower representing the Second Coming to attach to the cable, the cable of our lives begins to go downward and we will only live for the here and now. God’s purpose for each of us will be lost and we will not reach out destiny. If we are to ever fully accomplish our God-given destiny, then our lives must be suspended between these two towering events: Jesus’ First and Second Coming. The purpose of our lives must be fastened and suspended between a consciousness of these two events. May the Lord open our eyes to see and live in the awareness that Jesus not only came but is coming again. The subject of Jesus’ return was not only a part of our prayers but has many times the last verse of a song we sing, we thought about His coming, planned for it, and yearned for the day we would see Him face to face. We lived conscious of the fact that we would stand before Jesus one day regarding what we did in obedience to His will. Just as preparation was made for Jesus’ First Coming, preparation is being made even now for a Second Coming. There are those who are preparing the way for His return just as John the Baptist did for His First Coming.”

When I found out this morning that I was going to be doing this, immediately the Holy Spirit said, “I want you to pray about voices.” He then directed me once again to this book and praying about the voices in these last days. We know there were lots of people that were part of the First Coming of the Lord. He used Mary and Joseph and He used the Shepherds and Simeon. He used the wise men… Think about it! What an amazing thing—the orchestration! But the Holy Spirit, God almighty, got a hold of a bunch of people to work for His plan. They were just walking out their lives and God had them all work together. Isn’t He the orchestrator? Isn’t He the master director of the symphony? Every part working together.

Think about how many believers are on the earth this time who have a part of the plan. I like it! I just got happy about it when I thought about it this morning. Think of it. There’s millions and millions of believers everywhere just getting in line, just walking in step with the plan.

We know in the First Coming their roles were different, so everyone has a different role and they’re all significant. But some stood out more than others. They’re not more important, the spotlight shined a little bit more on them. So it is with the Second Coming of the Lord. There are going to be some people… there is going to be lots of people that God is going to use. That in itself is an amazing testimony. That He would use us! But one of the characters that was used in the First Coming was John the Baptist. He had a ministry and role in the First Coming which was of such great importance Jesus said that there was no prophet ever before John who was greater with the absence of any recorded miracles. What was it about John’s ministry that made him stand above the rest, according to Jesus? A prophecy was given at the time of John’s birth through his father, Zechariah. It shows us the importance of John’s ministry and his direct connection to Jesus’ ministry and purpose on the earth. “And you little one shall be called a prophet of the most high for you shall go on before the face of the Lord to make ready His ways.” The Greek word for “way” is hodus and its primary meaning is rode. The Good News Bible actually translates it this way: “You will go ahead of the Lord to prepare His road for Him.” In other words, John built a spiritual road that Jesus walked on in ministry. Mark 1:2–3, “As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, which shall prepare thy way before thee. 3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make his paths straight.” Mark was quoting Isaiah, so let’s see what Isaiah had to say about road building. A voice of one who cries “prepare in the wilderness the way of the Lord. Clear away the obstacles. Make straight and smooth in the desert a highway for our God. A highway in Hebrew means thoroughfare or turn pike. This gives us the picture of a main highway like interstate. Isaiah 40:4–5, “Every valley shall be lifted up and filled up and every mountain and hill shall be made low and the crooked and the uneven shall be made straight and level and the rough places a plain. And the glory majesty and splendor of the Lord shall be revealed at all flesh. All flesh shall see it together for the mouth of the Lord has spoken it.”

So we see what John’s call was. And then one of the things Jesus told us to do before He left was to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. Jesus said in this Gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations and the end will come. Of course, we want to see the glory manifested in our churches but God wants the whole earth to be filled with the knowledge of His glory as the waters cover the sea. The Holy Spirit has been stirring the Church with the desire to access the places which are void of the glory of God. But desire alone does not get the job done.

There’s a lot of people who go, “I really desire it.” But desire doesn’t get it done. John the Baptist prophesied as one crying in the wilderness. There’s a wilderness out there, a wilderness of darkness, a wilderness of lost. He used his voice to bring mountains down and low places up. His voice straightened crooked things and smoothed out the rough places. Our voices like John’s serve as a tool empowered by the Holy Spirit to prepare a road for Jesus and His ministry.

So every day we pray, every day you pray, every day the Church prays… there is some road work being done. I’ll confess, I used to go, “I just would like this done.” Well, if you drive around in Minnesota during the summer, the road work doesn’t get done. It doesn’t get done in one day. And it’s the same in the spirit—persistent and consistent prayer by the Church of the living God, preparing a highway for our God. Using our voices to prepare that way, bringing some things down, smoothing out some things, straightening out some crooked things. Day after day after day.

There are a multitude of believers who have been praying for years and years. How could you do that? Most people can’t stay on a task for very long. But by the Holy Spirit, by His mercy and grace we go down this road in preparing a highway for our God. Using voices. The Church has a voice. And I believe that as we continue to pray and by His mercy and grace and empowerment, that voice is being amplified in the earth. And the Church is speaking up a little more. But speaking the truth in love, I am not ashamed of the Gospel, the good news is the power of God unto salvation. I believe by the Holy Ghost some jaws are being unwired. They’ve been shut up for a long time. But freedom and liberty, because of revelation by the Holy Ghost of whose we are, what we have, whom we serve, revelation of the day in which we live, we’re coming to the end and getting up on the last tower that connects the cable! We’re going to live in the light of those revelations, not just say, “I had a good revelation.”

Believe means it translates into action. It’s just not some head knowledge but it becomes a part of who you are. It is the whole of who you are. That means everything you think about, everything you do, how you act is affected by your belief system. And I believe more and more the Church is aligning to that. Because He’s working in us and through us.

You see where we’re going about all those voices? First of all, those voices which represent individuals have to see and know by the Holy Spirit the day and the hour in which we live. They have to know that Jesus is coming. We have to live in the conscious revelation that He is coming soon. We cannot delay in our actions and our activities. But by the Spirit, because we believe we speak and we act in accordance with our belief system.

Prayed…

We thank You that more and more, Father, that wisdom and revelation is coming to the Church of the living God that we do have a voice. The voice is for preparation. There are many voices and we need all the voices to speak up every day, speaking and declaring the things the Father would reveal and say. Thank You that there is a great choir on that side and on this side that is expressing the will and word of God, revealing those things that we might pray, preparing a highway for our God. It is revelation of Your divine God-given authority that You said. God created man to have dominion over the earth and everything that He had made in it. He also gave man authority and the glory and the power to do the job he commanded him to do.
