Prayer Summary for September 5

The following excerpt is taken from The Revival Study Bible:

(13) “Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead….”
(Phil. 3:13 NKJV)

Focused Obsession
Philippians 3:13

The apostle Paul says, “This one thing I do.” Why are these words so haunting? It is because anyone in serious pursuit of Christ knows the hindrance of a broken focus. Greatness in any arena, but especially in pursuing a vibrant relationship with the God of the universe, demands a righteous kind of obsession.

A famous football player talked about that kind of focus in describing his own private workouts:

When I’m working out alone, I expect every bit as much from myself as I do when coaches or teammates or workout partners are watching. No shortcuts. No cheating. No manipulating. No rationalizing. I know that nobody’s watching. I know that no one would ever know…I want to know I have done everything I needed to do to prepare myself. Within the rules and bunds of the game, I want to punish them, to make them regret wanting to take me on. I want them to learn why I have earned a reputation. To excel here, I can allow no shortcuts, not even in private…I expect to be the best.

Do you yearn for personal revival? If you do, Paul reminds us here in Philippians that it only comes to those with such a focused obsession. God is never moved to respond to the mildly interested. But when your heart cries out to Him, “This one thing I do,” the Father heart of God leaps in rapid response. Your focused obsession allows you to partner with Christ as you “punish the enemy” and make him regret ever wanting to take you on!

Prayed…

Father, thank You that Your Word is our strength and healing
We are looking for an elevation and reestablishment of the foundation
Father, let every city in this nation be turned around for You!
Believers awakening and arising
That we would deliver the good news of the Gospel of Christ
Lord, we pray that You would be seen and glorified!

Scripture Focus…

(10) “[He planned] for the maturity of the times and the climax of the ages to unify all things and head them up and consummate them in Christ, [both] things in heaven and things on the earth. (11) In Him we also were made [God’s] heritage (portion) and we obtained an inheritance; for we had been foreordained (chosen and appointed beforehand) in accordance with His purpose, Who works out everything in agreement with the counsel and design of His [own] will, (12) So that we who first hoped in Christ [who first put our confidence in Him have been destined and appointed to] live for the praise of His glory! (13) In Him you also who have heard the Word of Truth, the glad tidings (Gospel) of your salvation, and have believed in and adhered to and relied on Him, were stamped with the seal of the long-promised Holy Spirit. (14) That [Spirit] is the guarantee of our inheritance [the firstfruits, the pledge and foretaste, the down payment on our heritage], in anticipation of its full redemption and our acquiring [complete] possession of it—to the praise of His glory. (15) For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints (the people of God), (16) I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. (17) [For I always pray to] the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation [of insight into mysteries and secrets] in the [deep and intimate] knowledge of Him, (18) By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints (His set-apart ones), (19) And [so that you can know and understand] what is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, (20) Which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His [own] right hand in the heavenly [places], (21) Far above all rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named [above every title that can be conferred], not only in this age and in this world, but also in the age and the world which are to come. (22) And He has put all things under His feet and has appointed Him the universal and supreme Head of the church [a headship exercised throughout the church], (23) Which is His body, the fullness of Him Who fills all in all [for in that body lives the full measure of Him Who makes everything complete, and Who fills everything everywhere with Himself].”
(Eph. 1:10–23 Amp.)

Continued Praying…

Jesus, be Jesus in and through us
We are Your hands, feet, and mouth pieces on this earth
Father, we open up our hearts and the eyes of our spirit
We yield greater to You
Thank You for the truth of Your Word
Your name, Jesus, is above all else and we magnify it today!
Each one of us have a part and responsibility to stir ourselves in You
That we would fulfill Your will and purpose
You are opening new opportunities before us to proclaim the name of Jesus
Where we don’t see revival, we command for hearts and ears to be opened up
We speak to our cities and leaders
Laborers going forth now!
Declaring change and a turnaround!
Making adjustments
We shall move along that right way
Praying and opening that path
We put a stop to that—enough is enough!
Declaring the name of Jesus!
Praying over every key and opportunity!
Calling those things to be opened and revealed today
We take hold and we will not let go
Pleading the blood of Jesus over our cities!
Lord, intervene in the situation in the Middle East
Proclaiming Your light in that place
We plead the blood of Jesus over Israel
Every inch of that soil is protected
Calling for direction and wisdom to the leaders
We call them a blessed nation!
Declaring that America will continue to stand with Israel!
Seeing other nations come along side of them!
Your perfect timing, Lord!
Seeing entire tribes and nations coming to the Lord through our praying
Thank You, Lord, that You are continually filling us as we yield more and more to You
Hearing the Holy Ghost calling all of the pray-ers
It is time to step up and step in!
All the believers are called to be pray-ers
There are many prayers that need to be prayed and the army needs to pray them out
The call must be loud and strong!
Father, stir the hearts all over the body of Christ
Cause them to arise and take their places—the force MUST be complete!
Thank You, Holy Spirit, for Your touch!
Father, we give You all the glory and honor!
