The following is a prayer for our nation by Pastor Lynne Hammond:

Father, in the name of Jesus, and according to your Word, we pray for those in authority in our nation. We lift up President Donald Trump, his family, his staff and cabinet members. Let Your Word cling to them and let them not depart from your plan. Strengthen them with mighty power by your Spirit to stand against wickedness, lies and deception. Guide President Trump’s decisions; let Your light shine upon his path and show him the path of reversal for every evil way. Continually surround him with godly men and women who impart wise counsel to him. Cause the way of the wicked to be set to confusion and come to nothing. Deliver us from the traps and snares the enemy has laid for us, and let the wicked be caught in their own devises and be brought to shame.

We take authority over the plots and plans of the enemy against this nation. Let prideful and lying lips be silenced in Jesus’ name. Slanderers will not be established in America. We pray for our Congress, our Supreme Court, our Military leaders and our intelligence agencies. Let the wisdom that is from above reign in this nation and be constantly speaking to our leaders. We exercise the authority you have given us to tread down all the power of the enemy. We cast down and demolish imaginations and arguments that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, and we bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. We bind spirits of strife and division, civil wars and tumults, spirits of hostility, lawlessness and blasphemy, and fires from hell that have burned in our cities.

We speak grace and peace over America. We pray and believe for the voice of truth, salvation, revival and restoration to be proclaimed and heard across our land. Grant unto your servants everywhere that with all boldness we may speak your Word. We pray for a mighty outpouring of your Spirit with signs, wonders and miracles. We expect the wisdom of this world that is earthly, sensual and devilish to depart and vanish until Your, mighty work in America becomes a beacon of hope for all people everywhere. We expect the voice of rejoicing to be heard in our nation for your goodness, mercy and prosperity, in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Prayed…

Thank You for what Your Word says about who we are, Father
The anointing breaks every yolk, every chain, every disease, and every hindrance
Staying steady, staying in the place where we have been called to be
We will keep on marching and moving!
Yes, we join ourselves up this morning with prayers all over the earth
Praying in one accord, praying for things to be right!
We are praying for God’s will and plan and we pray for those things to be made right
Things that are not right, we call for a turnaround there, wholeness there, and restoration there
You have given us authority over all viruses and diseases!
We will rise up and do all that You have called us to do, Lord
No, we will not stop or settle, but we will continue on to do Your will and plan!
Father, we take authority over this virus in the name of Jesus
We call it down and out, we declare for this virus to be cast down in Jesus’ name!
It is defeated by and through the precious blood of Jesus
No weapon formed against us will prosper!
We call for everything we put our hands unto to, prosper in the name of Jesus
Father, we put our hands, our eyes, our ears, and our hearts on the Word of God
Yes, we are strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!
Declaring that the joy of the Lord is our strength today!
We are overcomers in, by, and through the precious blood of Jesus
There is healing and power in the blood of Jesus
We put that blood to work, for there is everything we need in that blood!
Thank You for the blood, we magnify that blood
Father, we send out a supply of Your blood to those on the front line and in the medical field
We send that blood to those that are out assisting and helping others
Cover them and surround them, we lift up their finances, and their families, Father
Lifting up all of the businesses all over America, we call for a quick turnaround
Calling for those things to move back up sharply and suddenly
We cover America with that precious blood of Jesus
Thank You for Your presence, we respect Your presence, Father
No, we will not go anywhere without it, we need Your presence in our lives
We need that touch, that sense of knowing that You are with us
Yes, we welcome You in this place, Lord
Yielding our hearts to more of You!
We call for the fire of God to burn up that virus
That fire is bringing about a great cleansing and burning it up and burning it away
Calling for this virus to be burned up and never to return again!
Jesus is the name that is above every other name!
It is done, over, and it is finished in Jesus’ name!
Hallelujah, we receive that safe place and we take it by faith!
We lift up the church and we pray over every pastor and minister
Let Your Word be declared in these days, Father
Yes, we call for an awakening and a revival in these last days
Calling for safety along our borders, from the north to the south, the east to the west
We will be still and know that You are God!
Yes, Lord, we will do all that You have called us to do!
We give You all the glory, honor, and praise today, Lord

Scripture Focus…

Now in the church (assembly) at Antioch there were prophets (inspired interpreters of the will and purposes of God) and teachers: Barnabas, Symeon who was called Niger [Black], Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen a member of the court of Herod the tetrarch, and Saul. (2) While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, Separate now for Me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. (3) Then after fasting and praying, they put their hands on them and sent them away. (4) So then, being sent out by the Holy Spirit, they went down to Seleucia, and from [that port] they sailed away to Cyprus. (5) When they arrived at Salamis, they preached the Word of God [concerning the attainment through Christ of salvation in the kingdom of God] in the synagogues of the Jews. And they had John [Mark] as an attendant to assist them. (6) When they had passed through the entire island of Cyprus as far as Paphos, they came upon a certain Jewish wizard or sorcerer, a false prophet named Bar-Jesus. (7) He was closely associated with the proconsul, Sergius Paulus, who was an intelligent and sensible man of sound understanding; he summoned to him Barnabas and Saul and sought to hear the Word of God [concerning salvation in the kingdom of God attained through Christ]. (8) But Elymas the wise man—for that is the translation of his name [which he had given himself]—opposed them, seeking to keep the proconsul from accepting the faith. (9) But Saul, who is also called Paul, filled with and controlled by the Holy Spirit, looked steadily at [Elymas] (10) And said, You master in every form of deception and recklessness, unscrupulousness, and wickedness, you son of the devil, you enemy of everything that is upright and good, will you never stop perverting and making crooked the straight paths of the Lord and plotting against His saving purposes? (11) And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon you, and you will be blind, [so blind that you will be] unable to see the sun for a time. Instantly there fell upon him a mist and a darkness, and he groped about seeking persons who would lead him by the hand. (12) Then the proconsul believed (became a Christian) when he saw what had occurred, for he was astonished and deeply touched at the teaching concerning the Lord and from Him.
(Acts 13:1-12 AMPC)

Those who live in the shelter of the Most High will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty. (2) This I declare about the Lord: He alone is my refuge, my place of safety; he is my God, and I trust him. (3) For he will rescue you from every trap and protect you from deadly disease. (4) He will cover you with his feathers. He will shelter you with his wings. His faithful promises are your armor and protection. (5) Do not be afraid of the terrors of the night, nor the arrow that flies in the day. (6) Do not dread the disease that stalks in darkness, nor the disaster that strikes at midday. (7) Though a thousand fall at your side, though ten thousand are dying around you, these evils will not touch you. (8) Just open your eyes, and see how the wicked are punished. (9) If you make the Lord your refuge, if you make the Most High your shelter, (10) no evil will conquer you; no plague will come near your home. (11) For he will order his angels to protect you wherever you go. (12) They will hold you up with their hands so you won’t even hurt your foot on a stone.(13)  You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet! (14)  The Lord says, “I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. (15)  When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue and honor them. (16) I will reward them with a long life and give them my salvation.”
(Psalms 91:1-16 NLT)

Top 5 Scriptures That Banish Fear

Deuteronomy 31:8  “He will never leave you nor forsake you.  Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”

When you’re fearing a situation or emotional challenge, really envision God saying this, just to you. He’s on your side. No matter who leaves after promising forever. When friends, family members or co-workers disappoint you, he’ll never turn on you. Some of my lowest, most painful moments in life have also been my closest times with the Lord. I’ll never forget crying in fetal position on my kitchen floor after a brutal break up, and feeling the presence of God’s comfort and love like never before. It was so powerful I found myself laughing through the tears, as Duet. 31 burned in my heart: I am here. You will be okay. I’m all you need, and you’re never going to be alone. That was ten years ago, and He’s never let me down.

Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

So much fear is based on the wrong assumption than when we’ve made a mess of a situation, it’s too late for God’s help. I’m living proof that God specializes in fixing mistakes. Picture the Prodigal Son meets David during his rebellious years. Honestly, when I get to heaven I imagine God’s sweet embrace followed by, “so that vain phase in ‘09….had us worried there.” God has not only forgiven me after some blatantly unwise, selfish choices, but he’s been quick to open doors, answer prayers and pour out more blessings than I could ever deserve. He’s so good. Combat fear by believing he’ll turn your situation around for good, simply because he has a wonderful purpose for your life, no amount of blunders can hinder.

Isaiah 43:1 “Don’t fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name; you are Mine.”

God actually commands us not to fear, or worry. The phrase “fear not” is used at least 80 times in the Bible, most likely because He knows the enemy uses fear to decrease our hope and limit  our victories. I’ve been a Christian for 15 years now, and I’m still in awe that God, who created the universe, cares about every detail of our lives. We belong to an all-powerful, all-knowing, victorious father who cares deeply about us. When we really meditate on this truth, it’s hard to remain fearful about the trials we face. By focusing on Him, and how He considers us his prized, redeemed ones, our focus naturally shifts from fear to faith. Jesus himself expressed fear to the point of sweating blood, so God understands fear is natural. But whatever you’re fearing– a health crisis, family problem, financial struggle– focus on the power of a God who calls you by name, and commands fear to flee from you heart.

1 John 4:18 “Perfect Love Casts Out All Fear”

My youngest recently asked, “How could love fight fear, mom?” I was kinda stumped. I think this verse can be rather vague and difficult to grasp, even for adults. But when really meditating on this scripture, and how God’s love has made me less fearful through life, I believe it’s simpler than we realize. God is love. Perfect love. And the closer we come to him, the less power fear has over us, because we feel God’s continual presence-his strength, his comfort, and his guidance. This concept reminds me of being little, and experiencing “scary” situations, like hearing a strange noise in the middle of the night. I remember yelling for my dad, feeling terrified, but I had total belief that whatever was happening, my dad would protect us. Or when I got lost on the beach for what seemed like hours but was probably ten minutes, I just knew my dad would move heaven and Earth to find me. When faced with even the deepest most crippling of fear, we need to trust God with the confidence a child ascribes to a loving parent. The key is abiding in that love, on a daily-even hourly-basis. It has to be more than a biblical truth in our lives. We need to experience it continually.

Psalm 18:2  “The LORD is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer.”

Choosing a favorite psalm is like deciding on just one ice cream flavor, but this one sings the story of my life. Speak these words over the cause of your fear. God is our hiding place.  For David, this meant sitting in a cave praying trained warriors bypassed his route. For us, it’s more like sitting in our car on lunch break with worship music blasting, refusing fear, and praising instead. It absolutely works. We weren’t saved and redeemed only to limp through life riddled with fear and anxiety. God can only be our rock if we let him. Trust him to deliver you from every fear coming against the truth not only in his ability, but his desire to deliver you. Yup, still my favorite Psalm. Amen!
