Prayer Summary for June 9

The following excerpt is taken from The Triumphant Church by Kenneth E Hagin:

I TIMOTHY 2:1,2,4
1. I exhort therefore, that, FIRST OF ALL, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for ALL MEN; 2. For KINGS, and for ALL THAT ARE IN AUTHORITY; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. 4. [God] Who will have all men to be saved and to come
unto the knowledge of the truth.

We’ve seen an example of the Word of God prevailing over the strongholds of Satan in the decline of Communism in the Eastern Bloc nations. In 1983, the Lord began to impress upon me to pray according to James 5:7: ” … the husbandman waiteth for the precious fruit of the EARTH … until he receive the early and latter rain.”

We were conducting a weekly prayer meeting here at RHEMA at that time, and I announced, “I believe we’ve missed it in how we’ve been praying for the Eastern Bloc nations. I think many of us have unconsciously marked off the Communist countries as unreachable for the gospel. We’ve prayed for the Christians there, but how many of us have prayed for the Communist leaders?

“But the Bible doesn’t say the Lord is waiting for the precious fruit of the United States or the Free World. He is waiting for the precious fruit of the earth, and that includes the Communist countries.
That means before Jesus comes again, there has to be a revival behind the Iron Curtain and the Bamboo Curtain, for the Bible says there will be a gathering of the harvest from the whole earth.”

So week after week during our prayer meetings, we prayed for the Communist nations, as well as for the other nations of the world. We asked the Lord to send forth the rain – the outpouring of the Holy Spirit – upon those nations, according to Zechariah 10:1: “Ask ye of the Lord rain in the time of the latter rain….” We prayed for the leaders of the Communist nations according to First Timothy 2:1 and 2. And we asked for the Lord of the harvest to send forth laborers (Matt. 9:38).

As we direct our prayers to the Lord of the harvest, we take our position on the earth as the triumphant Church of the Lord Jesus Christ, and Satan’s dominion over the lives of the lost begins to be weakened. That’s how we deliver people out of the bondage of the enemy. When we pray for those in authority in the cities and nations of the world, we weaken the effectiveness of Satan’s kingdom in those cities and nations. When we pray, God can have His way in those countries instead of Satan.

I am well satisfied that the changes we have witnessed in the Eastern Bloc nations have occurred because many believers throughout the world prayed scripturally for these nations by the prompting of the Holy Spirit.

As Christians, we have the authority in Jesus’ Name to bind the power of the devil over the political scene of a nation. We have the right to demand that Satan take his hands off the government and the economic and social scene of a nation. We can bind every foul spirit that is affecting these areas and command them to stop in their maneuvers and cease and desist in their actions against us (Matt. 18:18; John 14:13,14).

Satan’s strategies against us on the earth can be stopped in every encounter, and God’s purposes can be fulfilled, as Christians stand in their place of authority in Christ on behalf of the nations of the world by praying for those in authority.

Therefore, let’s put first things first so God, not Satan, can have dominion in our city or nation. Before you pray for your family, pray first for those in authority, so that ” … we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty” (1 Tim. 2:2). This is one way we can keep Satan from taking advantage of us, “. . . for we are not ignorant of his devices” (2 Cor. 2:11).

The reason we haven’t been more effective over the powers of darkness is that we haven’t taken our rightful place in Christ and we haven’t based our prayers securely on the Word of God. And we haven’t put first things first as much as we should have.

No matter what we think. No matter what we’ve seen take place it is not just our right but really it’s a command from above to pray and allow that the flow of the Spirit to go there, to bring about change that needs to be brought about. For the rain, that latter rain to begin to pour down… in earth as it is in heaven. Hallelujah! Thank You, Father.

So we are not leaving out any leader whether we think we agree or not. We don’t leave them out especially if we don’t agree, especially if it doesn’t agree with the word. We definitely do not leave them out. We cover them, all men, all positions of authority, our nation, every nation of the face of the earth. We lift them. We bring them before You this morning. Just like the ones in 1983, the nations that looked like they could never be reached. For the wall was up but the wall came down! Ha! Ha! Ha! And in the way that it took place then it can and it will take place now.

As the Church and we are members of the body, as we take our positions of power, by grace, by the authority that has been put within us and take our place and stay in the race and call these things that are not as though they were and declare somethings to turn around. When? Right now! Where? Right there! In Jesus’ name. No matter what they have been named. It could be Isis. No matter what it is. No matter what the title has been given them we declare no, in Jesus’ name. We plead the blood. We hold the blood against the operation of the enemy over all the nations of the earth.

When the tours go through Israel one of the first things that’s done every morning as every person gets on the bus and there is probably a minimum of three bus loads this year, we pray down through Psalm 91. So we are going to pray Psalms 91 over every single person on the tour. We know that these tours are not just a sightseeing kind of a tour. It’s a Holy Ghost directed tour and it will go places were other tours do not go. So we are declaring a covering and the direction or leading by the Spirit for these tours to go exactly where they need to go and so they can say exactly what they need to say and do what they need to do and it will bring about help and bring about change in the land in Jesus’ name.

Scripture focus…

(1) I will praise You, O Lord, with my whole heart; I will show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your marvelous works and wonderful deeds! (2) I will rejoice in You and be in high spirits; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High! (3) When my enemies turned back, they stumbled and perished before You. (4) For You have maintained my right and my cause; You sat on the throne judging righteously. (5) You have rebuked the nations, You have destroyed the wicked; You have blotted out their name forever and ever. (6) The enemy have been cut off and have vanished in everlasting ruins, You have plucked up and overthrown their cities; the very memory of them has perished and vanished. (7) But the Lord shall remain and continue forever; He has prepared and established His throne for judgment. (8) And He will judge the world in righteousness (rightness and equity); He will minister justice to the peoples in uprightness. (9) The Lord also will be a refuge and a high tower for the oppressed, a refuge and a stronghold in times of trouble (high cost, destitution, and desperation). (10) And they who know Your name [who have experience and acquaintance with Your mercy] will lean on and confidently put their trust in You, for You, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek (inquire of and for) You [on the authority of God’s Word and the right of their necessity]. (11) Sing praises to the Lord, Who dwells in Zion! Declare among the peoples His doings! (12) For He Who avenges the blood [of His people shed unjustly] remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted (the poor and the humble). (13) Have mercy upon me and be gracious to me, O Lord; consider how I am afflicted by those who hate me, You Who lift me up from the gates of death, (14) That I may show forth (recount and tell aloud) all Your praises! In the gates of the Daughter of Zion I will rejoice in Your salvation and Your saving help. (15) The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made; in the net which they hid is their own foot caught. (16) The Lord has made Himself known; He executes judgment; the wicked are snared in the work of their own hands. Higgaion [meditation]. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! (17) The wicked shall be turned back [headlong into premature death] into Sheol (the place of the departed spirits of the wicked), even all the nations that forget or are forgetful of God. (18) For the needy shall not always be forgotten, and the expectation and hope of the meek and the poor shall not perish forever. (19) Arise, O Lord! Let not man prevail; let the nations be judged before You. (20) Put them in fear [make them realize their frail nature], O Lord, that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Selah [pause, and calmly think of that]! Psalms 91:1-20
