Prayer Summary for Friday, July 22, 2016

Jerre led in worship…

I’m going to sing a song. I borrowed it from the writing of John G. Lake. It’s something that he said and it came from his heart.

♪ I’ll never cease to praise You, God… For revealing to me the depth of Your power of the blood of Jesus Christ… ♪

That’s it! Some of the psalms I got years ago were from being in prayer and hearing someone pray “the deep” of their heart. So many beautiful words. One of my favorite is Spurgeon because he spoke the Word of God with such beauty.  He had a gift for making the gospel beautiful. I say I only “borrow” these words, cuz I don’t think they’re mine.

How many of you know that this is not “just a song”? Encapsulated in this song is the power of God. I sang this, this morning. I had a little Word time and then started to pray in the Holy Ghost and then read this about what he said about the power of God and believing in the power of Pentecost. I just walked over to the keyboard, sat down and started singing this over and over. I got a breakthrough in something right in the middle of this song. A healing breakthrough. It was just a small thing but it just felt so good to go, “Ahhh!” No flesh can glory in His presence. This little piece of flesh was right by my eye and it needed to be healed. And during this period of time of just singing, encapsulated in the song was the power of God! So I encourage you to sing it and believe at the same time. Amen?

When you said “depth,” it reminded me a few weeks ago when Pastor Lynne was talking about praying in tongues. She said that you could go into deep places with your tongues. Sometimes it takes time for us to get that connection. We come into the chapel and do what we did this morning and we’re trying to make that connection. But there is a place where you connect, when you’re no longer on the surface.

When Lynne was preaching, I got this picture. If you imagine a swimmer swimming across the surface of the ocean. He’s swimming but it’s just across the surface. But there’s a place that you can go in worship, there’s a place you can go in tongues that’s in the deep. Picture that swimmer diving down deep into the depths and swimming down and imagine what they can see below the surface of the water. It’s a completely different view.

That so excited me when she said that. I said, “Yes! That’s what we need to practice. Escaping from the surface and making the connection where we’re going down deep into the depths where we can see more than we’ve ever seen.” It’s like a whole different realm. Like a new door opening up and we can see so many things that He can show us and teach us and take us so many places.

I was listening to a minister this morning. He was talking about connection. He said, “Why does the music pastor have to sing the song 50 times before we actually ‘get in.’” Why do we hear a song and say, “Oh yeah, that’s a good song.” And you’re singing the words and then after the 50th time, it’s like, “Yes! God is good!” Why is that? He said it’s because of connection. We’re coming from being out in the world. We’re not staying connected when we’re out there. It’s harder for us when we come in here. We need to maintain that connection.

So when she sings that song, just connect with the words, connect with the Spirit. Like she said, today there’s healing in that song. If you can connect with that song, there’s healing in it. Right now!

This morning, I flipped open my Bible and it opened to Acts 3. On the right side of the margin of my Bible, I put, “Power for purpose.” So when we’re singing about His power, there’s always a purpose for it. It’s not just for “Wow!” There’s always a purpose for it. I was reading Acts 3:6, after Peter and John were going up to the temple at 3 in the afternoon. The crippled man was there expecting something from them. Peter said, “Silver and gold money, I do not have. But what I do have, that I give to you in the use of the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk!” He didn’t wait. Just grabbed hold of the man and with a firm grip, raised him up. And, at once, he was healed.

Then in verse 16, “And His name, through and by faith in His name, has made this man whom you see and recognize well and strong. [Yes] the faith which is through and by Him [Jesus] has given the man this perfect soundness [of body] before all of you.”

When you were singing about His power through the blood of Jesus, I focused on that part of His name that all authority, all power in and through the name of Jesus. That’s our part to use our faith in the power that’s in that name and use it the way the Word tells us to use it and never use it any other way or just as a phrase or an end to prayer. But recognize continually the power that’s in His name. The blood of Jesus. The name of Jesus.

As Barb was saying, sometimes it takes a while. At first when I started listening to that song, I was like, “Okay, yes. I like that.” I sang it again. Sang it again. Suddenly, I entered into a place of faith more than what I came in here with. I love it. To center in, yield, believe to go deeper in the water, so to speak, and the power that comes from heaven has purpose and brings about change where it needs to come.

I saw this when you were talking about the name of Jesus. I saw the name written out and then I saw the blood all over it. If we see that name like that… it will remind us of the depth and power of God.

Thank You, Lord, that we are flowing with Your Spirit. We are yielded to Your Spirit more and more and more. You are teaching us, Lord, step by step by step. Thank You, Lord, that this is the day that the Lord has made, not only when we rejoice and be glad in it but this day we will move in the power and the anointing of the holy One. This day we will operate, we will go, we will show forth the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light. Thank You for the outpouring of Your Spirit. Thank You, Father, for the spirit of seeing and knowing in greater manifestation in this day in this hour, right now, in this place in the name of Jesus. Thank You, Lord, for teaching us, for showing us, for helping us to yield to You more and more and more and more, day by day by day, step by step by step… We are yielding to You, Lord. We are cooperating with you, Father, to get the job done in these last days. We are cooperating with You, Lord, to get the job done. The job has to be done. The plan of God has to come into manifestation today and we are cooperating with You, Holy Spirit, to get the job done.

Pastor Ray shared…

Pastor Folu, when you started praying in tongues, you began to pray, “It is done. It is done. It is done.” And then the words that were prayed by the Spirit, those things are done! See it that way. Declare it that way. IT IS DONE! Miss Barb said at the beginning, we don’t have to wait. It’s for today! It’s done because He won!

Prayed…

Thank You for Your Spirit and Your power that we can carry out Your will and purpose in these hours. We pray over our feet, cover our feet today with the blood of Jesus, where they’re called to walk, our mouths for what we’ve been called to say and declare… like the man that expected money, he got something else. Healed in the name that’s above every other name! What’s that name? Jesus! Jesus! Jesus!

Jerre led in song about the name of Jesus…

Word…

What is recorded up there is already settled, okay? Everything that’s been recorded is recorded because God has already done it. Our thing is to believe and enter into all He has done. It says if all the things that has been done and said was written, there wouldn’t be enough libraries in the world to contain it. We have a hard time with what we have. Amen? But as we walk in these things that God has spoken, as His true sons bearing His image and likeness, things will begin to be revealed to us beyond what’s ever been said or spoken. But it’s for us. We are heirs together with Christ! Think about that. We are heirs with the very Son of God! Think about it. All that He is, is ours.
