Prayer Summary for February 17

Scripture Reference…

(1) “By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down, yea, we wept, when we remembered Zion. (2) We hanged our harps upon the willows in the midst thereof. (3) For there they that carried us away captive required of us a song; and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, Sing us one of the songs of Zion. (4) How shall we sing the LORD’s song in a strange land? (5) If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. (6) If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.” Psalm 137:1–6 (KJV)

I felt to take time today to pray for Israel. We did pray for Israel last Thursday morning and Thursday evening. I also wanted to just make mention of Nigeria. They were to have had an election already but it has been postponed for March 28 and then Israel’s election I believe will be March 17.

The current President of Nigeria, Good Luck Jonathan, is a believer. The last time the UN held a vote it was the first time, as far as I know, that Nigeria has more sided with Israel. They refused to vote for the Palestinians. Of course, there is pressure to move that president out. I read something about him this morning from the BBC and thought it was very interesting. They said that he has a way of being at the right place at the right time.

While we are praying for Israel, there are other nations including our own that need to continue in their aligning with Israel. We know, let’s put it like this, there is some shaky ground in the United States concerning Israel. When we were praying for the elections a couple times ago, Pastor Lynne had us to go to Psalms 80 and Psalm 125.

(14) “Turn again, we beseech You, O God of hosts! Look down from heaven and see, visit, and have regard for this vine! (We could insert Israel, Nigeria and other nations) (15) [Protect and maintain] the stock which Your right hand planted, and the branch (the son) that You have reared and made strong for Yourself. (16) They have burned it with fire, it is cut down; may they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance. (17) Let Your hand be upon the man or woman of Your right hand, upon the son or daughter of man whom You have made strong for Yourself. (18) Then will we not depart from You; revive us (give us life) and we will call upon Your name. (19) Restore us, O Lord God of hosts; cause Your face to shine [in pleasure, approval, and favor on us], and we shall be saved!” Psalm 80 (Amp.)

“We trust in, lean on, and confidently hope in the Lord and we are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved but abides and stands fast forever. (2) As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about us from this time forth and forever. (3) For the scepter of wickedness shall not rest upon the land of the uncompromisingly righteous, lest the righteous, God’s people stretch forth their hands to iniquity and apostasy. (4) Do good, 0 Lord, to those who are good, and to those who are right with You and all people in their hearts. (5) As for such as turn aside to their crooked ways of indifference to God, You will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel!” Psalm 125 (Amp.)

Let’s put it this way, “Peace be upon Israel and the nations that are supporting Israel!”

The following except was taken from The Holy Temple of Jerusalem by Chaim Richman:

The Jerusalem that houses the Holy Temple transcends its physical boundaries. Jerusalem is a concept. For the service in the Holy Temple is meant to be nothing less than an act of purification for all humanity. Through the ministrations of the priests and Levites, the participation of the Israelites, the pilgrimage of foreign nations, the sacrifice, the incense offering, the showbread, the menorah, and the Levite’s song … each and every aspect is another note in a harmony of Divine orchestration. Within the Holy Temple, all forces unite to acknowledge Him who brought them all into being as the only reality, the Supreme Force which drives the universe. One of the most important principles of Jewish belief is that man has the capacity to engage in a direct, constant, and fulfilling relationship with his Creator. The memory of that relationship and the dream of its renewal keep the fires of the Temple altar burning within the collective heart of the nation of Israel, and the hearts of all those who cherish God and His message for humanity.

A story relates that Napoleon Bonaparte once entered a synagogue on Tisha B’Av, the solemn fast day ‘that marks the anniversary of the destruction of the Holy Temple. Seeing the Jewish worshippers seated on the floor and reading Lamentations, he asked what terrible disaster had befallen them. He was told: “The Jews are in mourning for their Temple, Your Excellency.”

“What Temple?” he asked. “When did this event occur?” Upon learning that the Jews were grieving over the destruction of the Temple more than 1 ,700 years earlier, the emperor remarked: Such a people as this will never be destroyed; if they still mourn for their temple, they will surely see it rebuilt.”

Psalm 30 was written by King David, who ordered it should be sung by the Levites during the dedication ceremonies of Solomon’s Temple; some say that it was sung at the same event during the Second Temple, and that it will be sung at the dedication of the Third Temple as well.

Annie sings Psalms 30….

I will extol thee, O Lord for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me. O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me. O Lord, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not go down to the pit. Sing unto the Lord, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness. For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. And in my prosperity I said, I shall never be moved. Lord, by thy favour thou hast made my mountain to stand strong: thou didst hide thy face, and I was troubled. I cried to thee, O Lord; and unto the Lord I made supplication. What profit is there in my blood, when I go down to the pit? Shall the dust praise thee? shall it declare thy truth? Hear, O Lord, and have mercy upon me: Lord, be thou my helper. Thou hast turned for me my mourning into dancing: thou hast put off my sackcloth, and girded me with gladness; To the end that my glory may sing praise to thee, and not be silent. O Lord my God, I will give thanks unto thee forever.

When I heard Annie sing “but joy cometh in the morning,” I heard the Lord say “It’ll be alright because in that joy there will be strength to keep on moving and keep on going in the right way, moving in the right plan day after day after day after day—through that joy that comes in the morning! Ha, ha, ha! There is joy that brings supernatural strength to contend for the future and know with a surety that it will be alright. It will turn out and it will turn out alright! Hallelujah.

Someone said to me yesterday “I feel kind of status quo, like I am just going day by day doing the same thing and you know it’s good but it’s just not a great big delight. “ I remembered months ago when Pastor Jim was preaching about Israel on a Sunday morning. During that service I heard in my spirit “In this church, Living Word Christian Center, everything will work out right as long as we stay in that place of lifting up Israel, blessing Israel, keep on being connected with the nation of Israel. Everything here at Living Word Christian Center will be alright.” You know there are ups and downs, turns in the road, different ideas and different plans but as long as we make every effort to lift up the nation and the people of Israel, bless them when we can, we will walk it out right. It will be alright. It seems like that is a word for the Church, not just this church but the Church, the whole body of Christ. It’s time for the church to be absolutely, totally convinced to support Israel.

Are the people of Israel completely perfect? No. Are we completely perfect? No. But the Word of God has said “Bless them and you shall be blessed. Curse them and you shall be cursed.” So, if we want to see our mornings filled with joy, bringing strength to keep us moving upward and out of that status quo-ness, away from that pressure that tries to sit us down sometimes with a frown, we will need to turn it around. For the joy of the Lord is and always will be our strength to keep us moving carefully, accurately in the will and in the plan and in the purpose of God almighty. Hallelujah.

Praying…

Thank You, Father, we worship You today as we bring these nations before you
Heaven is watching to see what the nations will do concerning Israel, what side will they be on
Pleading the blood of Jesus over the Nigerian election
We lift all the plans that are to be walked out concerning Israel
Calling the blessings of God on the people of Israel in Jesus’ name
Pleading the blood of the Lamb over the Jews all over the earth for protection and strength
We lift up the big picture – Your plan
Praying for the peace of Jerusalem – as You have said to do!
The blood of Jesus over all the borders of Israel
Over every person in the Israeli military
Leaders in the military shall see and they shall know
Yes, up in the Golan – that shall not be lost!
We ask You, Father, to uncover and reveal every plan and shut every mouth that rises against Israel
There is protection by the blood in all of Israel!

Pastor Paul’s prayer for Nigerian election…

Father, we give you the glory for removing outside influences that would come to put undue pressure, to manipulate the results of the elections in the favor of the adversary. We ask, O Lord, for a demilitarized zone were the citizens of the country of Nigeria can go and freely vote for the leader of their choice without being coerced or put under undue duress in the name of Jesus. We pray they would not be able to manipulate by fear the airways in order to bring about a low turnout to bring their purposes to pass in the country.

For I ask You, Lord, that You would dig out, root out, unseat them, take away their power, take away their influence, take away their voice, take away their guns, take away their birth rights in that country in the name of Jesus. The very territory and the very places that they have set their feet upon, let the ground open and consume their ideology, in the name of Jesus.

Father, in Your mercy turn the leader to the Lord of Heaven that he would see the Lord Jesus Christ as He is, but turn their council of wickedness to foolishness in the name of Jesus.

Father, I pray for a high turnout – maximum turnout. I ask, O Lord of heaven, that Nigeria would elect a leader who would favor Your righteous cause, who would favor the causes of Israel. A leader who would be undaunted, who will not be able to be coerced by the nations of the world to make choices that are contrary to You but will stand with You and glorify Your name and magnify Your office in the name of Jesus.

Father, we ask O Lord for the day of the election, the 28th of March, 2015, to be the day of the Lord – the day of Your orchestration, the day when angels are assigned in the nation of Nigeria, the day where the election results come out with  authenticity and integrity in the glory of the Lord, the day were no ballots are stolen, no machine breaks down, no electricity seized, where everyone, everywhere is able to go out to their polling place and rightfully elect a leader – the leader You have put in Your heart in the name of Jesus.

Father, we ask that no financial cartel nor cunning religion would be able to manipulate the election in the name of Jesus!

But, Lord of heaven, You who chose David when he was not even called by his father, when his brothers gathered together and the prophet tried to elect a leader from them – they looked like men of war, they looked like men that had been trained by Saul but Your Spirit was not with them and then the prophet said, “Have you no more sons?” and Jesse said “There is one ruddy who is tending sheep.” He said “We shall not seat until we bring him here.” And when they called David, he anointed Him King of Israel even when Saul was still on the seat. My Father, I am asking even though those of the north have all the influence, yet the one You have chosen, the anointed head of the country of Nigeria, the one that fears Your name, the one that trembles at Your word, the one that seeks Your face, the one that favors the righteous cause of Israel, the one that holds up the cause of God, the one that lives by the Word of God, the one that will walk in integrity, the one that will sing Your praises, the one that will dance and say the Lord is our Lord, the Lord is our rock, the Lord is our strong tower, the Lord is our Amen, the Lord is the bread of our life, the Lord is our Chief Shepherd, the Lord is our Dayspring on high, the Lord is our Emmanuel, the Lord is our Faithful and True, the Lord is the God of Israel, the Lord is our Healer, the Lord is Invincible, the Lord is the King of kings, the Lord is the Lord of Lords, the Lord is a miracle working God, the Lord is the one whose name is above every name, the Lord is omnipotent, omnipresent, omniscient, the quicken-er, the resurrection and life, our strength and provision, the Unspeakable Gift, the Wisdom and Power of God, Who is Excellent in Glory, the Lord who is the Yoke Destroyer – the one who is the Lord is the Lord of Nigeria and we will serve Him in Spirit and in truth in the name of Jesus, hallelujah!

Someone said the other day they thought the election was put off into the distance, it was supposed to be last week, so there would be more time for believers to pray for God’s will and His way for that nation. The world says all kinds of other things about it but I agree with that. It’s time to lift it and cover it that God’s will and His plan would be done.

Continued to pray…

Thank You for the power of Your Holy Spirit
The blood that cleanses us and allows us to walk in righteousness
Today we give You glory, all the honor all the thanksgiving for the victory that has already been won
Victory – we thank You for it today in Jesus’ name
