Prayer Summary for April 1

Prayed…

Thank You, Father, that the blood is working through us today
You are our Healer and provider
That Jesus was faithful to go all the way to the cross

Scripture Focus…

(4) But I have this [one charge to make] against you: that you have left (abandoned) the love that you had at first [you have deserted Me, your first love]. (5) Remember then from what heights you have fallen. Repent (change the inner man to meet God’s will) and do the works you did previously [when first you knew the Lord], or else I will visit you and remove your lampstand from its place, unless you change your mind and repent.
(7) He who is able to hear, let him listen to and give heed to what the Spirit says to the assemblies (churches). To him who overcomes (is victorious), I will grant to eat [of the fruit] of the tree of life, which is in the paradise of God. (Rev 2:4-5,7 AMP)

The following commentary was taken from the Revival Study Bible

Back to Our First Love
Revelation 2:4-7

Jeanne Mayo wrote: If revival is going to happen in my life, what conditions must be met? I must come back to my first love.

In the first letter to the churches in Revelation, the risen Christ shared an invitation that all of us must respond to in our hearts to stir personal revival. The letter was to the church in Ephesus. Jesus commended them for their hard work, hate for evil, and perseverance when times were tough. But they had one lethal imperfection … they had lost their first love experience with Christ.

Nevertheless, I have this against you, that you have left your first love. Remember therefore from where you have fallen; repent and do the first works, or else I will come to you quickly and remove your lampstand from its place…. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God. (Rev 2:4-5, 7)

If true revival is going to happen in my life, then I must go back to the most basic of conditions in my walk with Christ … my first love experience. Do you remember the feelings you felt when you first began a friendship with Jesus Christ? The excitement, the love, even the dedication to keep the relationship alive no matter what personal cost.

Paul in 1 Corinthians 13: 13 states, “And now abide faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” If any relationship that continues over the course of time, keeping love fresh is one of the greatest of challenges.

If I work so hard at keeping my friendships, family relationships, and work acquaintances alive, then why do I allow the most important relationship in my life to seem dead? I must go back to what is most crucial, what is most important–the true love relationship I have with Almighty God. It is there that I am most vulnerable to do whatever He asks and not allow my spirit to quench personal revival.

Remember, Repent, Redo…Revival!

Revival is what happens when a once-alive relationship is rekindled again. The Lord Jesus is not satisfied with a well-oiled, efficient, cold, doctrinally correct, lifeless ministry machine. In Revelation 3, He challenges each believer and church body who would find themselves in this predicament to do three things:

Remember
It is interesting the first thing Jesus tells us to do is simply remember! The implication is that something unforgettable took place. You cannot wonder if you have truly met Jesus. He is unforgettable. If you are wondering if you have met the Lord, you probably have not. Your first move is to receive the Lord. It will be unforgettable!

Repent
Jesus would never command you to do something you could not do. Perceive repentance as a vote of confidence from Jesus. He actually believes you can do a 180-degree turn in the right direction.

Redo
Just start to do what you did when you were on fire for God. Remember when you read the Bible as a love letter? Remember when praying was a relational dialogue, not simply religious monologue? Remember when sharing Jesus with others was on your mind? Remember, repent, redo! Step out in faith and do and the feelings will follow. Motion precedes emotion! (GJ)

Continued Praying…

Staying continually stirred up in You—praying in the Holy Spirit
You are our first Love, Jesus
Rolling away every care—led by Your Spirit not our feelings
Setting our steps to walk out in more of You
Standing on Your word
Thank You, for deeper revelation of Your love for us and others
Money, Money, Money—receiving it in Jesus’ name
Wrong decisions—declaring them to turn 180 degrees
As in Heaven it will be on this earth
Contending for the turnarounds today—others going in the right way
Rolling off every spirit of “quit”—overcoming by the blood
911 situations—declaring a turnaround Now!
Different parts of the body that are not right—they will get right in Jesus’ name
Calling those that have never heard to hear the Gospel
Those that that have left to come back—there is a plan for you to be free!
It is a restoration day!!
Suddenly they will hear in Jesus’ name
Lies from the enemy be exposed for freedom and victory
It is critical that every man, women, and child come in; come back—walking free!
It’s a worldwide event—whole cities being set free today!!
Devil, we restrict you and call you out—you are defeated
It’s like an atmospheric change in cities—complete turnaround on this date
REVIVAL! CHURCHES OVERFLOWING!!
Historic change—the former and the latter rain together
It’s an awakening time
Steady as we watch over the cities in Jesus’ name
Pleading the blood over Leaders of cities—some removed and some brought in
We are calling for a cleansing; a move by the Holy Spirit

Shared…

When we were singing for the Lord to send the rain, I saw those words as prayers for the precious move of the Holy Spirit that would move in cities suddenly. We know that it was done at the cross. We know victory has been won but we also know that it’ll be like as the Word says, the former and the latter rain together. It will be an increase and lives will begin to open their hearts for it. I just got a glimpse of that in cities where people were going about their own business, they thought but God has a business and He has the power of His precious Holy Spirit and He has the blood of the Lamb, the wind, and the rain and it is coming. It will come. It will be greater than it was even 50 years ago, 100 years ago, whatever. It will be greater and it’s coming.

And so when we are praying and declaring we are not just saying, you know…put the rain on me put the rain on me…though we are opening up our hearts for more, but it’s a prayer for these cities that are not aware. But then suddenly they will step into a presence realm brought there by the prayers of the pray-ers that keep contending for it and keep calling for the move of the Holy Spirit to go through city after city after state after state, nation after nation, across the face of the earth that the lost would come in by the droves. We know it’s the Word, Lord. We know the numbers are about to multiply; more and more and more of the lost coming in. Eyes being opened up. Ears suddenly hearing what they could never hear before. The move of the precious Holy Spirit of God Almighty.
