The following excerpt was taken from Born for Battle by Arthur Mathews:

Old Testament examples of prayer were most dramatically for the believers’ authority over all the power of God’s enemies. There is a finality (now get this) that will not be gainsaid in the way that the superior strength of the alien armies is disposed of as God’s servants prey. In any situation were Satan dominates and threatens, God looks for a man through whom He may declare war on the enemy. He purposes that through this man Satan be served notice to back up, pack up, and clear out. The power of spiritual weapons applied by insistent faith on conflict situations cannot but be thwarted by the enemy because victory to God’s people and fulfil His purpose. This is the only explanation I have for these words from I Samuel 7:13 So the Philistines were subdued, and did not invade Israelite territory again. That is victory maintained.

Prayed…

Thank You, Father, Hallelujah
Let’s just praise our Jesus
Who is King of kings and Lord of lords

We spent the remainder of our time praying in tongues and worshiping the Father.
