Prayer Summary for Thursday, October 27, 1016

Prayed…

We thank You, Father, for the opportunity to pray
For filling us with Your Spirit
Sensitivity to bring the situations before Your throne
By faith, grabbing hold of Your promises today
We yield to Your Spirit, Lord
Whatever You want to pray
We have ears to hear what Your Spirit says this day
We put our minds on You, on those things above
Thank You for Your love

Last night in the service, we prayed over the election, over the states, the swing states battleground states. I want to make mention of the states again here this morning. I actually went back and looked up which states are swing states. According to some things I could find on the Internet, they are Colorado, Florida (we know that’s a major one), Iowa, Michigan, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and Wisconsin. It’s interesting that they are scattered out, some in the center and some toward the west and the east. We’ve declared over Minnesota for years that Minnesota is moving more in the right way. What’s that way? God’s way!

I will just begin by making mention of these states. And we are believing for this election to be an honest election where every hidden thing would be revealed, every deception, every illegal thing would be uncovered in Jesus’ name.

Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming

We cover these states in the blood of Jesus. I was just reminded right now, Patsy Cameneti was here years ago and she had a prophecy and she declared some things about “what is the state of your state.” And we do have responsibility for the state that we live in, absolutely, as members of the body.

Continued praying…

This is the United States of America, coming back together
Taking authority over division
Pleading the blood of Jesus over God’s plan
When this land was discovered they put that cross in the ground
It’s for freedom
Many of the freedoms are in jeopardy
But it is not going to go that way
We are so blessed that we have been filled with the Holy Ghost
Speaking in other tongues or languages

Scripture focus…

(26) So too the [Holy] Spirit comes to our aid and bears us up in our weakness; for we do not know what prayer to offer nor how to offer it worthily as we ought, but the Spirit Himself goes to meet our supplication and pleads in our behalf with unspeakable yearnings and groanings too deep for utterance.
(27) And He Who searches the hearts of men knows what is in the mind of the [Holy] Spirit [what His intent is], because the Spirit intercedes and pleads [before God] in behalf of the saints according to and in harmony with God’s will.
31 What then shall we say to [all] this? If God is for us, who [can be] against us? [Who can be our foe, if God is on our side?]…
(37) Yet amid all these things we are more than conquerors and gain a surpassing victory through Him Who loved us. Romans 8:26–27, 31, 37 (AMPC)

Last night Mary started singing in other tongues and then she started singing that “there is more” and we sang that for a while. I absolutely, totally believe there is more. One way I know is that there’s something more about praying in tongues that we maybe haven’t quite gotten to yet. It’s in our yielding, how we yield to the Spirit. There are a couple different excerpts from pastors that I want to read but first I want to share what I wrote out yesterday. I was thinking back to when I first found out there was such a thing. First of all, I was shocked that we were to be born again. I had never even heard that term until Sandy told me about it. So I got baptized in the Holy Ghost some 30 years ago and I had to by faith believe that there was even such a thing. Then I had to yield to it and obey the Holy Spirit. I just thought about this. If we can pray in an unknown tongue, we have the faith to believe that we can absolutely pray in an unknown tongue. If we can yield that way, then we can yield to the Spirit in an even greater way and believe what we are praying produces supernatural results. That’s the way I had written it down.

So we absolutely believe and we practice it. We pray in other tongues. We should, while we are praying, believe we are producing supernatural results. We believe these prayers are having results and they are supernatural. What we do now for what needs to be done, we have to be in the Spirit just like the Bible says. Praying out in the Spirit to me, how else can we do it? There are so many unknown things. There is more for us to pray out. So we purpose to get out in the Spirit and believe we are praying out supernatural changes.

The following quotes were taken from The Importance of Praying in Other Tongues by Pastor Curtis:

Pastor Curtis:

I have noticed that people who do a great deal of praying in tongues find it easier to experience the presence of God. I can relate with Brother Wigglesworth when he speaks of being lifted up by the Spirit. Pray much in the Spirit and enjoy this experience for yourself.

I arise early enough on Sunday mornings in order to spend one hour in prayer before I get to church to pray more in the prayer room. Much of my praying is spent praying in tongues and I can always tell the difference in regard to the anointing to preach when prayer has been a priority. I believe praying in tongues will also cause the congregation to receive what is preached with greater understanding. Praying in tongues causes the spirit man to be sensitive to spiritual things.

Smith Wigglesworth:
When we are praying in the Holy Ghost, faith is in evidence, and as a result, the power of God can be manifested in our midst. (The Anointing of His Spirit, page 159 – Smith Wigglesworth)

Pastor Curtis:
Some of the greatest miracles, revelations of God’s Word, and experiences of God’s presence have been mine after I’ve spent much time praying in tongues. The flesh will battle it but determine to keep at it. As Paul stated in I Corinthians 9:27, cause your flesh is to be ruled by your spirit man.

Judson Cornwall:
Praying in tongues is not the work of the subconscious. It’s really supra-intellectual praying. That is, the prayer is beyond the natural mind, not beneath the conscious level. Intercessory prayer in tongues is not incoherent speech. The very words are motivated by the Holy Spirit, addressed to the Father, and approved by the Lord Jesus (see Mark 16: 17). The speaker is not in a trance. The language is spoken with complete cooperation of the praying person and the person can stop praying in tongues whenever he or she chooses to do so. The believer knows what he or she is doing when praying in tongues.

Furthermore, intercession of the Spirit in tongues is not contra-intellectual. This kind of prayer is neither an overwhelming nor an anti-intellectual experience beyond the control of the person. For the Spirit-filled believer, this kind of intercession is very natural. It allows the Spirit to pray through us intellectually without violating our own intellect. (Praying The Scripture, page 213 – Judson Cornwall)

To me, that’s how we can pray more effective prayers in the Spirit. When we stay “tuned in,” we keep ourselves, our thoughts… you know the more we pray in other tongues, the less problem we have with our minds. I don’t have that problem so much. When I am praying in other tongues, my attention, my mind it is not dormant but it has to line up with the prayers that I pray or that you pray. So, I am always looking to get further out, not just like he says out in a “Trance” but further out in the Spirit where I am hearing what He is saying and I am directed by that prayer. After all prayers come down, come into us, come through us and go back up. Isn’t that right? Amen. So we’re not just coming up with things. We are being led by the Spirit.

Mary, please come up here and share what you were saying to me this morning about singing in tongues and then how you get to the place where you can interpret that, just how you know how to do that.

One of the things that I thought of after the fact last night was I always remember when Patsy Cameneti said that “We are to be the river bed for the Holy Spirit to flow.” You know I have been praying with Pastor Ray and Jerri and Erica for years now. As a singer I have been trained but the training has helped me yield to the Holy Ghost. Being the river bed, we just yield and let the Holy Spirit flow through us however He wants to. Some of the first things that you can think of when we yield to the Holy Spirit, laughter, joy or all those things but from the singing place, I have learned to yield to the Holy Spirit and let Him flow and whatever notes and sounds come out, that’s what the Spirit is calling for. And even before the service last night Pastor Brandon was sharing with us to put aside the trained side or the learned side and just yield and let the sounds come out. I was agreeing, yes I understand that. So as we are in tune with the Spirit up on the platform we are following the leader, following him as he is following the Holy Ghost. You know everybody has a part. Every instrument they have their part. Every singer has their part and when you bring all the parts together, you have what God intended. Amen.

And so I am just up there and I am so aware of Brandon’s playing. I just get caught up in it. I am listening and then things happen inside of me that I am aware of and words are coming. I am just waiting and waiting. You know letting him… he is the leader. Through the years in the chapel, I have a liberty to step out on my own. You know we are to respond to the Spirit and step out. So the words come and then Brandon said something. Okay, is he talking to us or the congregation? Then he said it again and that was my que. So I went with it and in the process, I am just yielding and yielding more and more and more. You know it’s a prayer, it’s a cry. Even that first song I said to myself that there is cry in that song. And the more that you yield, the more you cross over. That’s what we want. We want to be less aware of ourselves and just respond to the Spirit. And so the Spirit is flowing in that river and in that river bed and accomplishing what needs to be accomplished. We are just going from one thing to the next thing to the next thing and it’s what God had intended, I do believe.

Everyone has a piece and a part and last night was from here to here to here to back here to over here. That’s the way I saw it. You know sometimes you flow and you stay in it and you stay on whatever that is and you just keep plowing in the Spirit and then other times you stop and you wait on the Spirit. Even when Pastor Brandon was playing… okay we are going to ride this in the Spirit. You take your que. We all have a side as we have been told how many times, a side of the mountain. Okay you hear it a certain way. Jerri hears it a certain way. I hear it a certain way. So you sing in the Spirit and you follow what you are hearing along with that main line which is Brandon’s playing. You just go with it and it ends up building. So the second time I was so aware of his playing. In my spirit, I could hear it. I am hearing sounds, a certain melody and it started building and building and the band came in and then I knew. I went with what the Lord had showed me. When you are in that place, you are over and you are not aware of everything that you are doing and saying and it’s just yielding to the Holy Ghost. Praise the Lord.

That’s what we are purposing to do every time we come in here. Sometimes you have a definite direction. Sometimes you have a piece of it and other times it’s like “help me, Holy Spirit.” And thank God you have all the parts and the pieces and everybody is in their place. Every part perfectly joined together and we accomplish what He has need for us to accomplish in that one hour. Hallelujah.

Ms. Jerri shared…

When you said that you were so aware of Brandon’s playing, the old term we used to use is “he Minstrel to the Prophet.” Sounds that are anointed of the Spirit when they’re following the Lord and they’re going with something. But the Minstrel to the Prophet pulls out the prophetic song. So that’s what I believe you were feeling.

Ms. Mary shared…

And there is also something I am aware of for myself is the minor keys. Minor keys do something to me. You get in a minor key and all of sudden froommmm! Okay where are we going to go? I don’t know if that is like that for everybody but…

Ms. Jerri shared…

I use the minor keys whenever we pray for Israel. The Spirit of God is not the “same old same old” song. We are following one another, so I can be playing over here and He will say “pray for Israel” and then I go (minor keys played on the keyboard). There is an Israeli sound that comes and there is also in those minor keys a strength and a power that comes out of them and that pulls the gift out of people. I don’t know if they are power cords, I don’t know how to explain that but those A minors are power chords that help to stir the gift. We were always taught to in whatever we were doing to pull the gift out of the minister. What we had last night, that corporate anointing where we are all following the Lord and the Lord just works through different people and works through the music, it’s just really exciting. It’s hard to explain what… there is no road map for it, there is no real teaching for it but following the Spirit so fresh, thrilling and exciting because He is the leader and He goes where He wants us to go and to go in that river.

Ms. Mary shared…

And there are just certain things to me at least for myself… I can’t make up what I did. I can’t repeat that. Certain things you can only do when you are in the Spirit. It’s definitely His ability. You know you are the vehicle. It is thrilling and just makes you want to keep going.

Righteousness in the people groups
Voices, voices, the Spirit word
For there are people groups within the states
Within the cities
The precious people groups, we lift them, Father
That they would go the right way
They have an unction from the Holy Ghost
So as we yield to the fullness of the Holy Ghost and He has His way
In this time, with these steps
Moving from one tongue to another
The truth, the truth, the truth
Those that gather together, the purpose
All, all, all, all, all
A great turning, Father
Voices, voices, voices – they step out in boldness
We are asking You, Father, for a divine boldness on Your people
Watching over these calls, assignments for all these different ones
So they can move
Know the way, there is a knowing and a drawing
There are changes
Which way, the ways, the steps
We pray over those accesses – heaven’s ways
That’s been changed, it’s moving
Not moved by what the world is saying
We are moved by what the word says
Lifting our hands to give You all the praise and all the thanksgiving
For what You have done. Amen
