Prayer Summary for Thursday, May 28, 2015

Pastor Ray opened with prayer…

Holy Spirit, thank You for Your presence here today. Thank You for what You’re doing through us, not just for us but for others that we come in contact with, for the steady stream of souls that are coming into You, for the lives that are changing, turned around. Thank You for Your great presence; it’s what we need and want. We open up our hearts to You, to Your precious, holy presence.

I want to go through this confession. It’s what my grandchildren have memorized. Sandy and I had them over the Memorial Day weekend. The first day I was driving the kids to school, I turned the corner and said, “Okay, let’s pray.” “No, no, papa Ray, stop.” What? “No, no, no. This isn’t what we do.” Okay. So they said they had a confession that they make. Each child whipped it out. They said “We have to do this confession, all three of us separately. We do the confession and then we pray.” Okay. So I wanted to read their confession today. One child is 16 and the others are 11 and 9. So they say this:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the blood of Jesus. We plead the blood of Jesus over our vehicles, our family, and our home—front to back, side to side, top to bottom.
We sling [or plead] the blood all around us everywhere we go. We draw a blood line around our property, anything in it, on it, and of it—that should be—is protected by the blood of Jesus.
We send the angels out now to build a hedge of protection around, to keep us safe from any harm.
We believe for an abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness that You have given to us freely.
We thank You for Your anointing and Your presence that is with us ALL DAY LONG!
And we thank You for Your unmerited favor that goes before us and behind us in EVERY situation, providing the opportunity for the empowerment of the blessing!
In Jesus’ name we pray, AMEN!

Jesus is with me, therefore, I am a successful person.
I have the mind of Christ.
My body is healed and whole by the stripes of Jesus, and I am NEVER sick.
And I will never be broke another day in my life.

There is just something I love about a nine-year-old declaring, “I’m never going to be broke another day in my life.” I love it.

That’s big “God thinking.” Kind of like when he asked for the Christmas present—the Segway and the gold bar!

Ray shared…

I forgot about the gold bar! Actually, speaking of the Segway (you know the Segway that you ride), we were talking about it yesterday in a different prayer group. When you watch your grandchildren, along with that, you get some homework. There was one paper that the middle child had left to do before Tuesday morning. It had words that you had to look up in the dictionary. I mean, who uses a dictionary anymore? You just get your iPad or iPhone, whatever, and google it. But the assignment wanted what page in the dictionary it was on. So we got the pages and the description of these words. They were all leading up to having the child write out what they’re hoping and believing for, what they are looking forward to. So I asked Reagan, “What is it that you’re believing for or expecting?” In a split second, he said “A Segway.” He wrote that down. Then he had to name three things that you would do to get what you just wrote down. I thought the first thing would be “save money.” He goes, “No.” He passed right over the money part. He said, “First, believe.” And the other one I think he said, “expect.” And I can’t remember the third one. But the financial part was not even an issue. We talked about that. I thought that it was spiritually true no matter what it is that we’re believing for—we have to look to Him. We don’t look at the situation. That’s not always easy to do. We’re living in a flesh body and we have a mind. It’s easy to focus on what it is that we’re looking to receive, but we have to look to the “Great I Am,” the “King of Kings,” right? So I liked where his focus was on. Every day they go through their confession on the way to school. We’re looking to Him for everything because He’s the one that did it on earth as it is in heaven. We believe we receive. We expect. And we walk in it.

It’s all about the renewing of your mind. What did you get when you got saved? You got Him. He doesn’t have a deficiency. He doesn’t have lack. As I’ve been studying through the last months, the mindset of the Church needs to be renewed to the fact that when you got saved, with the same faith you said, “I believe I’m saved and I got healing at the same time.” It’s not something I have to beg and plead for it. But it’s the same. You got Him. The Holy Ghost.

Erika prayed…

Thank You, Father, for your holy, written Word. Your Word is life to us. Your Word is health to us. Your Word is healing to us. Thant You that Your Word is life and it changes everything about us. Thank You that we can renew our minds, that we can build our spirits so strong that factors that used to be a problem are no longer a problem. We don’t have to think about finances whether they’re an issue. It’s because we live in the Spirit and by the Spirit. The Greater One dominates all of our being. We thank You today that You’re working in us. You’re causing us to will and to do of Your good pleasure.

We never leave praying about an awakening and outpouring. What else is there? What great thing are you going to pray for that is going to make such a big difference in the earth? Nothing. So I’m going to read some scriptures today about the Holy Ghost because I cannot get away from Him. All I think about is the operations, the manifestations, the function of the Holy Spirit in these last days and His place in the Church of the Living God.

John 3:16, John the Baptist speaking said, “I indeed baptize you with water; but One mightier than I is coming, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.”

Luke 24:49, Jesus speaking, “Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high.”

To endue is to invest or endow with some gift, quality, or faculty. What did Jesus say? Wait until you are endowed with some quality or faculty. It means to put on, or assume, to clothe. Endow is to furnish with some gift, faculty, or to equip. So wait for the promise of the Father until you’re equipped. Equipped to do what? What did it say? We’re going to read about it. Endued with power. What does that mean? Energy, power, might, great force, great ability, strength. Dynamite power. Dunamis in Jesus resulted in dramatic transformation. This is the norm for the Spirit filled and Spirit-led church. Endued with power.

John 7:37, Jesus is saying, “On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.” 39 But this He spoke concerning the Spirit, whom those believing in Him would receive; for the Holy Spirit was not yet given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.”

John 13. Jesus is with His disciples and their discussion is going on and He said I’m not going to be with you very much longer. They were like, “What?” John 14, He said I am the way, I am the truth, I am the light. He talked about the Father is revealed through the work of Jesus. And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever…” He gave the Holy Spirit forever! What does another mean? I will send another one. Another means: one besides another of the same kind. The word shows similarities but diversities of operations and ministries Jesus used for sending another. Comforter equals one besides me, in addition to me, but one just like me. He will do in My absence what I would do if I were physically present with you. The Spirit’s coming assures continuity with what Jesus did and taught. He sent another just like Himself. He said I’m going to send a helper that He may abide with you. What is a helper? A helper signifies an intercessor, a comforter, a helper, an advocate, a counselor. In non-biblical literature, it’s a technical meaning of an attorney who appears in court for another’s behalf. The Holy Spirit leads believers to greater apprehension of Gospel truths in addition to general help and guidance. He gives strength to endure the hostility of the world’s system.

Do you think we need the Holy Ghost today? The same one that Jesus said would come just like Himself. Acts 1:4-8 is talking about an awakening.

“And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me[a] in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 2:4, “And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” And they went out and the sound occurred and a multitude came together and they were all amazed and marveled saying one to another. “Are these not all those that speak that are Galileans and they were amazed.” Why? They were filled with the Holy Ghost. How many know that today we need some amazement to go on in and through the Church? Power, enduement, gifts endowed—today!

That’s what we’re looking for, Father
The Holy Spirit, the One who endows and equips us with power, going about doing good just like Jesus
So that the world could see and know
We’re trusting You for that
That there would be a great release of Your power and anointing in this day
That Your great presence would supernaturally come into areas and regions causing men and women to call for Your help
“How must I be saved?”
A greater infilling of the Holy Spirit, individually and collectively
That the fire of God would fall once again in the Church
Going about doing good
The river must flow to the uttermost parts of the earth, into every dark place
Your river of life must flow in a greater way
Ministering the life of God to the lost
Anointings released and uncapped
A determined purpose to know You and the power of Your resurrection power
The same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead operating through the Church of the living God
Making a difference everywhere we go
Greater reverential fear and awe of Your Spirit living in us, filling us, anointing us
That we would so esteem Your Spirit

You said not to forsake the assembly of ourselves together
There is a great purpose in the assembly—operations and manifestations, the gifts of the Spirit
Coming together with the corporate anointing of Your Spirit
The atmosphere charged with You
The saints would go and disperse and carry Your presence
Pour out Your Spirit, an outpouring of Your Spirit
There are billions in the earth that do not know and have not seen or tasted of You, Father
The Church must come up and be a display of Your presence
Operations and manifestations of Your presence

I like this commentary in the Revival Study Bible regarding the scripture that talks about how “there appeared to them divided tongues as of fire. And one sat upon each one of them.” This is what the commentary says about that:

Revival is not about getting “fired up” as much as it is getting under the “fire fall.” In the natural, fire goes up. In the supernatural, fire comes down. Elijah called down fire from heaven on the sacrifice. Fire came down on Mt. Sinai. Fire came down on the day of Pentecost. Jesus told His disciples to go to Jerusalem and wait for the promise of the Father. As they waited, divided tongues as of fire sat on each of them. The fire fell in Jerusalem because that is where He told them to go. Fire falls where God tells you to go. Fire falls on what He tells you to do. Fire falls on obedience. (GJ) [end quote]
