Pastor Ray shared…

I had this morning to build up the body of Christ. It’s part of our job. I want to read a scripture in Ephesians 2. “It wasn’t so long ago that you were mired in that old stagnant life of sin. You let the world, which doesn’t know the first thing about living, tell you how to live. You filled your lungs with polluted unbelief, and then exhaled disobedience. We all did it, all of us doing what we felt like doing, when we felt like doing it, all of us in the same boat. It’s a wonder God didn’t lose his temper and do away with the whole lot of us. Instead, immense in mercy and with an incredible love, he embraced us. He took our sin-dead lives and made us alive in Christ. He did all this on his own, with no help from us! Then he picked us up and set us down in highest heaven in company with Jesus, our Messiah. Now God has us where he wants us, with all the time in this world and the next to shower grace and kindness upon us in Christ Jesus. Saving is all his idea, and all his work. All we do is trust him enough to let him do it. It’s God’s gift from start to finish! We don’t play the major role. If we did, we’d probably go around bragging that we’d done the whole thing! No, we neither make nor save ourselves. God does both the making and saving. He creates each of us by Christ Jesus to join him in the work he does, the good work he has gotten ready for us to do, work we had better be doing.” (Message)

Then the last part of chapter 2:21, “God is building a home. He’s using us all—irrespective of how we got here—in what he is building. He used the apostles and prophets for the foundation. Now he’s using you, fitting you in brick by brick, stone by stone, with Christ Jesus as the cornerstone that holds all the parts together. We see it taking shape day after day—a holy temple built by God, all of us built into it, a temple in which God is quite at home.” (Message)

The Passion translation, verse 20, “You’re rising like a perfectly fitted stone or stones of the temple and your lives are being built up together upon the ideal foundation laid by the apostles and prophets and best of all you’re connected to the head cornerstone of the building, the anointing one, Jesus Christ Himself. The entire building is under construction. And it is continually growing under His supervision until it rises up completed as the holy temple of the Lord himself. This means that God is transforming each one of you into the holy of holies, his dwelling place through the power of the Holy Spirit living in you.”

Each one of us is a stone and there’s a place for us where we fit. Each one of us has a different gifts, callings, plans that He put within us and we all fit together. This morning I googled “building up the house of God” and I got get some unusual things. One of the messages had eight points on how to build up the house. Points like coming to the services as often as you can. For sure! Give. Tithe. Be a part of the church. But they forgot the key thing that builds up the house and that’s prayer. Nowhere on the list was prayer. And I thought, “Wait, isn’t that the foundation?”

Jerre interjected…

Prayer is the heartbeat of the ministry. He is the Spirit of intercession. And there is something called the sin of prayerlessness. Nothing will work without prayer. Without Him directing us, Christianity would be a “head Christianity.”

When we were praying about the US today, I saw darkness covering the US. The Lord was saying to me that even we Christians have been responsible for some of that darkness, speaking negatively over our nation. As we were singing in the Spirit, that darkness was dispelled.

Jerre continued to lead group in worshipful singing in the spirit…

♪ We call down deception in the name of Jesus
Restore those broken parts and make then new
Renewed vision, come forth in the name of Jesus
Gifts of the spirit, come forth in the name of Jesus
Sensitivity in the spirit
We lift it up, we built it up
That darkness must come down in Jesus’ name

I keep hearing in my spirit, “I want My church back.” So we’re praying some things to be back in line, back where it should be. In other words, restored and brought right back where it should have been when it took that turn that it shouldn’t have taken. We pray it to be back on track!

A shift that needs to take place
Or a paradigm shift
Ears to hear what the Spirit is saying
Open up ears
The pastors—a shift upward
Momentum
That has to go—leave the church!
The right spirit
I declare some fire and burning there!
Shake out of the old and shake in the new
It’s an order from heaven, to shake things up
It’s a supernatural right—an abundance, glory, momentum, increase
It’s a Holy Ghost ride—a supernatural ride of great glory and momentum and victory
We lift up that low place
We call in those resources in Jesus’ name
