Prayer Summary for Thursday, January 14, 2016

Erika shared…

Our God reigns. He will reign for all eternity. That’s the God we serve. Several days ago, I was reading and praying and the Holy Spirit said, “Take your seat.” I responded, “Okay,” even though I was seated, I knew what He meant. I was drawn to the Authority of the Believer by John McMillian because it’s all about authority. Think of the progression. God has authority. He gave Jesus authority. Jesus came and He gave us authority to use the Father’s authority. So we as the Church, we shouldn’t get far from this. And when the Holy Spirit said to me, “Take your seat,” I knew He was speaking specifically to me about some things that I might have been a little too casual about. Maybe there’s a fly flying around in your house. Well, you got a big house and the fly doesn’t bother you until he’s in the same room with you. You got to get the fly out of the house if you don’t want it in the room with you.

And don’t let him sit on your lunch!

Erika…

No. That’s nasty. And it’ll ruin it. All those flies will ruin everything they land on.

[begin quote]
Do we believe that God hath quickened us together with Christ and hath raised us up together and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus? If we do, our reaction to it will be a fervent, “Lord, I accept thy gracious Word. I believe that thou has wrought for me in humble faith. I do now take my seat in heavenly places in Christ Jesus at thy right hand. Teach me how to fulfill this sacred ministry, how to exercise the authority which Thou hast entrusted to me. Train me day by day that I may attain to the full stature of the perfect man in Christ, so that in me Thy purpose of the ages may be fulfilled. Amen. [quote interruption]

Isn’t that what we’re looking for? In Me, the purpose of the ages. Pastor Mac is doing His new series, “High Calling.” Think of it individually the high calling. Help us, Jesus, to get over to that! That each member of the body of Christ, filled with God Himself, the magnificence of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus, the greatness of the call. Father, thank You that You’re helping us to see it and know it and live in accordance with it both individually and collectively as the body of Christ. You’re the one that causes us to will and to do, that You’re actively working in us through Your Word and by Your Holy Spirit. Your Word is being performed. You said that we would be the glorious church, that we would go from one degree of glory to another. So, Father, we’re thanking even this day that progress is being made all along the way.

That old things are passing away and there are things that are becoming new! New creatures in Christ Jesus that we in deed and in truth are being those new creatures in Christ Jesus. New in every conception, every dimension of what was in the Father’s heart of creating a new creature, that never existed before. A creature filled with God Himself. God almighty living in a human vessel made by God. Father, the awesome majesty and glory. You’re helping us to see and actualize the revelation of who we are in Christ Jesus, of what we have in Christ Jesus of the authority and power. There are actions and activities in the realm of the spirit that must be implemented and executed today, the end days, the last of the last days. Father, we’re looking for that, activities in the spirit, eternal works to produce the great production of God. That He would create unto Himself a greater family, the great family of God. That each person would hear the good news of the Gospel. That they don’t have to die in sin and hopelessness. Help and hope and life is available. Father, we as the Church are humbled at the awesome privilege and honor to be co-laborers with you. You didn’t say “I’ll do it.” You could have done it all by Yourself, but You gave us a commission, a command. You gave us everything we need in order to fulfill Your great call.

[resume quote]
The barriers we run into are not because God’s plan of redemption is deficient. The real barrier is in our knowledge and understanding of what God has done for us in the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. We need to see who we are and what we have in Christ; when we live in the light of the revelation knowledge, we will not only enjoy the blessing of God, but we will fulfill the call of God. Every breakthrough in faith comes from a breakthrough in revelation. Every breakthrough in receiving the blessings of God comes from a breakthrough in revelation and understanding. Every advance filling the call of God in our lives today comes from a breakthrough in the spirit of wisdom and revelation. The power that is available to us as believers is accessed through the supernatural revelation of God and His Word.

In Ephesians 1, Paul prayed for believers to know three things specifically, through the spirit of wisdom and revelation knowledge: the hope of His calling, the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, and the exceeding greatness of His power to those who believe. The spirit of wisdom and revelation is necessary and mandatory for a believer to access the call, the inheritance, and the authority we have as believers. To know and to understand these three things requires that believers have the eyes of their understanding (of their hearts) enlightened or flooded with light so they can see things differently. The reason this prayer is so important to believers is that the call of God, the inheritance, and the authority of the believer must be accessed supernaturally.

The spirit of wisdom and revelation helps believers to see themselves the way that God sees them. When you see yourself the way that God sees you, you not only see what God has done for you in Christ, but you also see everything that is available and belongs to you because of what God has already done for you in Christ. I like the Cornish translation: “and illuminate your inner vision.” Illuminate the eyes of your heart there by explaining and opening to you the full nature of His calling and its aim and expectation. [end quote]

That’s what we’re looking for in the body of Christ. We didn’t stop praying for the spirit of wisdom and revelation. We have to have it now in order for the Church to function to do her job in these last days.

Prayed…

We pray that the spirit of wisdom and revelation would come to the Church
They must understand the seriousness and how critical our part is in these last days
Illuminate that to the body of Christ
Not just for a part of the body but for every member of the body of Christ
Plans must be executed in the day and hour
Illumination and revelation of the day and hour
Instructions must be implemented
Synchronization
Members of the body of Christ moving into cooperation and collaboration
Getting the big picture
Elevating the Church in revelation
Arising to the true height of the Word
The greatest days, a divine infusion of revelation of the sons of the living God
Walking and speaking as our Father
Doing those things we see in His Word
Delighting to do the will of the Father
