Prayer Summary for Thursday, August 03, 2017

Erika prayed and shared…

Father, we’re thankful for this time together today. We ask that You be in every part of this meeting. Think through our minds. Speak through our lips. We honor and reverence You. We thank You that You are perfecting the Church. We trust You with our lives.

We don’t usually read the news in here but today I’m going to read a little word of encouragement for all the pray-ers out there. Some of you have probably already heard it. If not, you get to hear it now. On CBN news, the article says “Bible studies at the White House.”

Bible Studies at the White House: Who’s Inside This Spiritual Awakening?

A spiritual awakening is underway at the White House. Some of the most powerful people in America have been gathering weekly to learn more about God’s Word, and this Trump Cabinet Bible study is making history. They’ve been called the most evangelical Cabinet in history – men and women who don’t mince words when it comes to where they stand on God and the Bible. Ralph Drollinger of Capitol Ministries told CBN News, “These are godly individuals that God has risen to a position of prominence in our culture.” They’re all handpicked by President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence. “I don’t think Donald Trump has figured out that he chained himself to the Apostle Paul,” Drollinger laughed. Drollinger is a former NBA-playing giant of a man with an even bigger calling. He founded Capitol Ministries with the idea that if you change the hearts of lawmakers, then their Christian world view will guide them to make good policies. He’s started Bible studies in 40 state capitols, a number of foreign capitols, teaches weekly studies in the U.S. House and Senate and now leads about a dozen members of President Trump’s Cabinet in weekly studies of the scriptures. Health Secretary Tom Price, Energy Secretary Rick Perry, Education Secretary Betsy DeVos, Agriculture Secretary Sunny Perdue, and CIA Director Mike Pompeo are just a few of the regulars. “It’s the best Bible study that I’ve ever taught in my life. They are so teachable; they’re so noble; they’re so learned,” Drollinger said. It’s groundbreaking since he doesn’t think a formal Bible study among executive Cabinet members has been done in at least 100 years. America’s top cop, Attorney General Jeff Sessions, also attends the study. “He’ll (Jeff Sessions) go out the same day I teach him something and I’ll see him do it on camera and I just think, ‘Wow, these guys are faithful, available and teachable and they’re at Bible study every week they’re in town,’ “Drollinger said. President Trump is invited to attend the Bible studies, too. Each week he receives a copy of Drollinger’s teaching. And Vice President Pence is also planning to join the study as his schedule permits. He also serves as a sponsor. In Pence, Drollinger sees many similarities to biblical figures like Joseph, Mordecai and Daniel—all men who rose to the number two position in governments at different times in history. “Mike Pence has respect for the office. He dresses right—like it says Joseph cleaned himself up before he went to stand before the Pharaoh,” Drollinger told CBN News. “Mike Pence has uncompromising biblical tenacity and he has a loving tone about him that’s not just a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal,” he continued. “And then fourthly, he brings real value to the head of the nation.” Like others, Drollinger often compares President Trump to biblical strongman Samson. “I just praise God for them,” he said. “And I praise God for Mike Pence, who I think with Donald Trump chose great people to lead our nation.” [end article]

Isn’t that good? Thank You, Father. After I read this, I began going through some notes and things and I came across word definitions of three words. I think it’s appropriate for today. Number one is “transition.” The White House is in transition. The nation is in transition. The Church is in transition. And transition is described as movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept to another. So we’re changing. There is transition going on and we can rejoice and be glad that our ears hear that. God is so good to us that He brings that to us to encourage us but it doesn’t mean we stop. We get back on our faces and say, “Thank You, but we see more just like You see more, Father.”

Transformation is described as “to transform is to change, inform, appearance, or structure. It’s a metamorphous. To change in condition, nature, character, to convert. Transformation is the act or the process of transforming. That’s what’s happening. It’s just like the butterfly. How many times have we talked about how daily we go about the Father’s business in prayer and lifting up His projects. Then we do as much as we can for the day. And there’s millions of believers who are doing the same thing.

And translation. Translation is the change or conversion to another form or appearance. We know in the biblical sense that the appearance of Jesus changed and we have read about where people are translated from one place to another. It’s biblical. But we also know that translation from one form to another is taking place. So I just want to encourage all of us today that He who began a good work in us will see it to the day of completion. He’s working. Our prayers are working. There are people in nations praying for this nation. Glory to God. They want to see that change, probably more than a lot of Americans. So we rejoice in that.

We’re going to pray once again in agreement our prayer that we’ve been using for America.

Father, in the name of Jesus and according to your Word, we pray for those in authority in our nation. We lift up President Donald Trump, his family, his staff, and cabinet members. Let Your Word cling to them, and let them not depart from Your plan. Strengthen them with mighty power by Your Spirit to stand against wickedness, lies, and deception. Guide President Trump’s decisions; let Your light shine upon his path and show him the path of reversal for every evil way. Continually surround him with godly men and women who impart wise counsel to him. Cause the way of the wicked to be set to confusion and come to nothing. Deliver us from the traps and snares the enemy has laid for us, and let the wicked be caught in their own devises and be brought to shame. We take authority over the plots and plans of the enemy against this nation. Let prideful and lying lips be silenced in Jesus’ name. Slanderers will not be established in America. We pray for our congress, our supreme court, our military leaders, and our intelligence agencies. Let the wisdom that is from above reign in this nation and be constantly speaking to our leaders. We exercise the authority You have given us to tread down all the power of the enemy. We cast down and demolish imaginations and arguments that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, and we bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. We bind spirits of strife and division, civil wars and tumults, spirits of hostility, lawlessness and blasphemy, and fires from hell that have burned in our cities.

We speak grace and peace over America. We pray and believe for the voice of truth, salvation, revival, and restoration to be proclaimed and heard across our land. Grant unto your servants everywhere that with all boldness we may speak your Word. We pray for a mighty outpouring of your Spirit with signs, wonders, and miracles. We expect the wisdom of this world that is earthly, sensual, and devilish to depart and vanish until Your mighty work in America becomes a beacon of hope for all people everywhere. We expect the voice of rejoicing to be heard in our nation for your goodness, mercy, and prosperity in Jesus’ name, Amen.

It’s a process… walking out the process… turn to the right way… strength to walk in it, yield to it… boldness… cooperating…

Zechariah 3:7 says “Thus says the Lord of hosts: If you will walk in My ways and keep My charge, then also you shall rule My house and have charge of My courts, and I will give you access [to My presence] and places to walk among these who stand here.” Then in Zechariah 4:3, talking about the flow of the Holy Spirit. That’s what we’re talking about today. “And there are two olive trees by it, one upon the right side of the bowl and the other upon the left side of it [feeding it continuously with oil].” That’s the glory. That’s the presence of God in there. “So I asked the angel who talked with me, What are these, my lord? 5 Then the angel who talked with me answered me, Do you not know what these are? And I said, No, my lord. 6 Then he said to me, This [addition of the bowl to the candlestick, causing it to yield a ceaseless supply of oil from the olive trees] is the word of the Lord to Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by My Spirit [of Whom the oil is a symbol], says the Lord of hosts. For who are you, O great mountain [of human obstacles]? Before Zerubbabel [who with Joshua had led the return of the exiles from Babylon and was undertaking the rebuilding of the temple, before him] you shall become a plain [a mere molehill]!”

That’s the human obstacles. We can take and apply that for today. Erika just read about many of the changes and things that are being said that we’ve been praying for, asking for. Remember how it was when the early believers were praying and Rhoda was knocking on the door and they’re so busy praying for the answer that is outside the door! I love this: “Who are you, O great mountain of human obstacles? Before those that are anointed…” We have the anointing. We’ve been filled with the Spirit. We have the glory. But there’s more and we’re yielding ourselves to more. More and more, we’re seeing changes in our nation, in the earth, in our leaders. But we continually lift and hold that blood over each and every one of them, that they’ll not shrink back, that every human obstacle before them shall become a mere molehill. “And he shall bring forth the finishing gable stone [of the new temple] with loud shoutings of the people, crying, Grace, grace to it!”

Thank You, Father, for the ministry of Your Spirit, for that ever flowing and transitional changes. In that transition there is a lifting and it is continually lifting us up where we’ve never been before. We’re not shrinking back. That’s what we’re praying for, for our leaders beginning with the President. They’ll not shrink back. They’ll not join the swamp. They’ll stand strong and as they study Your Word, there is a supernatural transition happening there with our leaders. Thank You, for it, Father.

Prayed…

We see the way Zerubbabel saw it… those obstacles became nothing, little molehills
Obstacles are shrinking
The church has been lifted up and we are overcoming
We’re changing from one degree of glory to another
We open up our hearts to change… change in our church, our state, our nation

It’s Your presence that distinguishes us, Father
Among all the people, so we’re wanting greater definition … more greatly defined by Your presence
Your great love manifested to a hurting world
Let it be love that is behind everything we say and do
We ask for that transformation, Father
Thank You that we can be vessels that manifest Your love
Faith works by love
We believe You for it and thank You for changing us to one degree of glory to another
Change… transformation… transition… translation… You began a good work in us
You are the author and finisher of our faith

It’s a continual change. Please say this after me. This is so good. The following is the inspiring commitment of a young African pastor from Zimbabwe.

[begin confession]
My Banner Is Clear

I am part of the fellowship of the unashamed. I have Holy Spirit power. My dye has been cast. I have stepped over the line. The decision has been made. I’m a disciple of Jesus. I won’t look back, let up, slow down, back away, or be still.

My past is redeemed, my present makes sense, and my future is secure. I’m finished and done with low living, sight walking, small planning, smooth knees, colorless dreams, tamed visions, worldly talking, cheap giving, and dwarfed goals.

I no longer need preeminence, position, promotions, or popularity. I don’t have to be right, first tops, recognized, or rewarded. I now live by faith, lean on His presence, walk in patience, am uplifted by prayer, and labor by power.

My face is set and my walk is fast. My goal is heaven. My road is narrow, my Guide is reliable, and my mission is clear. I cannot be bought, compromised, detoured, lured away, turned back, deluded, or delayed. I will not flinch in the face of sacrifice, hesitate in the presence of the adversary, negotiate at the table of the enemy, ponder at the pool of popularity, or meander in the maze of mediocrity. I won’t give up, shut up, let up until I’ve stayed up, stored up, prayed up, and preached up for the cause of Christ.

I am a disciple of Jesus. I must go till He comes, give till I drop, preach till all know, and work till He stops me. And when He comes for His own, He will have no problem recognizing me—my banner will be clear. [end confession]
