Prayer Summary for October 21

The following excerpt is taken from Devotions for the Praying Heart, Prayer Notes by Lynne Hammond:

Don’t Quit Until the Battle Is Won

Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. Revelation 3:10–11

Once you’ve gained the altitude advantage over the Devil with the Word of God, maintain it. Keep watching in the spirit. Keep praying and don’t stop until the battle is won.

Spiritual victory requires perseverance.

Why? Because the Devil is persistent! Unlike many Christians, he doesn’t give up easily. So you must stubbornly hold the Word against him. As Ephesians 6:13–14 says in the Amplified Bible, ” … resist and stand your ground on the evil day [of danger], and, having done all [the crisis demands] … stand [firmly in your place Stand therefore [hold your ground] …. ” If you want to see what happens in the realm of the spirit when you persist in prayer, read Exodus 17. There you’ll see the Israelites under attack by the Amalekites. During the battle, Moses climbed to a hilltop and lifted the rod of authority that represented God’s covenant promise to Israel of victory over their foes.

What’s most interesting is this: Moses didn’t just raise the rod once then lower it, turn his back on the battle, and go back to his tent. He found that when he raised the rod, Israel prevailed but when he lowered it, Amalek prevailed. So with the help of Aaron and Hur holding up his hands, Moses kept the rod raised against his foes until the sun went down and the battle was won.

Such is the victory of prayer. It takes its place above the battle, opposes the enemy with the Word of the Lord, and refuses to quit until that Word is an accomplished fact on the earth.

Prayed…

Father, every morning that we come to You, we are strengthened
Thank You for the manifested victory You have given us when we stand in Your strength
For Your great mercy in these days
We let go of all things that would dilute our strength which is found in You—not backing down in what we are called to do
Putting on the full armor of God—we wear it and we use it!
Shifting more and more into Your plan, Your way
Marching over into complete victory in Jesus’ name
Breaking down walls in Your name – You have completely equipped us, Father
We thank You for supplying us with wisdom to pray out mysteries in these last days
Father, You are our necessary help in prayer; we are completely dependent on You
Your ways are higher, we pray out Your ways in the Spirit and by faith
Thank You for supernatural change taking place when we pray in Jesus’ name
We lift up the keys, Father, that unlock those things that bring about Your change
Congregations coming together to pray out mysteries with one voice
Ever advancing—taking more and more territory for Your Kingdom
Father, we give You all the praise, honor, and glory in the mighty name of Jesus
