The following commentary is taken from The Revival Study Bible:

The Glory of God

The expression “glory of God” is used in the Bible in a number of different contexts. However, a simple but accurate definition is “the glory of God is who He is, clearly manifested, and what He does, powerfully demonstrated.” Glory is essentially the nature and acts of God in self-manifestation.

Man has been created in such a way that his ability to be what God intended him to be can only be accomplished when he is in the presence of God and the power of God is released through him. Man is no more capable of functioning independently of God than an automobile is capable of operating without gasoline. Of course, you could give the car a shove down a hill or even push it along on a level road, but no one would actually claim that was the proper use and operation of an automobile. Without the presence of God’s glory, man can do nothing concerning his God-intended purpose for being. When God is able to work in and through us, demonstrating His glory, nothing is impossible, “for with God nothing will be impossible” (Luke 1:37).

Why do so many Christians live poor, defeated lives when they might be living in victory? God never intended for life in Christ to be a constant falling and rising and falling again, or yielding and resisting and yielding again, always at the same points of temptation. If we are at all like-minded with God, this low condition will be a grief and a disappointment.

All true Christians have “godly life” for they are “born of God,” but not all have that divine life so strong as to be overcoming life against the corruptive influences of the world (2 Pet 1:4). Overcoming life gives victory over temptation and inward corruption. It is an overflowing life that can spend itself joyously in blessing others because it is so full and free. This is the purpose of the glory of God, and revival is the divine carrier of that glory to God’s people and His Church that both may be what He intended them to become.

Without the glory of God’s self-manifestation of who He is and what He does, we Christians live so much lower than we ought to live, lower than we might live, lower than we were redeemed to live, lower than it is safe for us to live. We live below our duty because we live below our privileges, below our godly aspirations, below our prayers. The worst condition of all is when we are content to live in that low condition (BP)

I will stand my watch
Habakkuk 2:1

Habakkuk was faithful to do what he knew he was called to do. He stayed upon his watch and waited for the Lord to speak. How important it is that, even in times when God does not make sense to our head, we guard our heart against unfaithfulness toward Him. Revivals have typically come to those willing to remain faithful in waiting upon God to answer them. “But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint” (Isa 40:31). As Habakkuk waited, God answered him with a promise: “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea!” God further assures him that He is God and is still on His throne, and He is still in His temple. A true revival will have two outstanding revelations of God He is a God of judgment, but He is also a God of compassion toward His people. Therefore, “let all the earth keep silence before Him.” (WF)

Prayed…

Father, You are so good to us
We worship You for who You are
Resting in Your presence, today
Thank You for providing all that we need
Your goodness and mercy follows us all the days of our lives
Giving You all the glory, honor, and praise
It is a new day, and Your mercy is new every morning
You have given us the perseverance to press ahead
The cleansing power of the blood of Jesus is flowing through us
Taking our place of position that You have given us in Your army
Staying faithful to the Word of the Lord
We humble ourselves before You, Father
Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that You are Lord
We will not quit—we will hold steadfast
Your arm is not too short!
Pressing on and keeping our eyes on Your promises
Not by our might but by His Spirit we will go
We will run and finish the last lag of the race
No lack—everything we need will be provided!
Continually drawing near unto You, Lord God
You will never leave us, nor forsake us
We are watching, and we are waiting
Light is coming in a greater degree and in a greater measure
There is a great dispensing now of Your orders and Your plans
Clear communication in Jesus’ name!
Calling down all hindrances
You who started a good work would see it to completion
There is much at stake, but we will hold steadfast to Your Word
We will go in the blood and go in the glory
That we would not live with any regrets
Calling those things to be straightened out, that every part would be fulfilled
Declaring that we would finish our race without spot or wrinkle
We are blood bought and cleansed by the blood of Jesus
Going about the Father’s business in boldness and courage
Perfect love casts out all fear—no fear in the name of Jesus!
Moving over into a greater release of Your anointing
Everyone functioning together—united we stand!
Pulling down the strongholds of the enemy this day
Pleading the blood of Jesus over eyes
We must see clearly now!
Those eyes would see and hold to the truth of Your Word
Eyes, be open to see the signs and wonders all along the way
Continually contending in and by Your Spirit
The power and anointing is going to take us all the way through
It is not over—it is time to step up and take our place
Calling those things that be not as though they were
The truth will set You free!
You will come right in time and right on time
Applying the blood over every word that has been spoken
Supernatural aid and assistance for every step of the way
An awakening is coming—be ready!
Your glory is moving from the north to the south, from the east to the west
Calling for the rain—an outpouring of Your Spirit
The forerunners and trailblazers will run with fire and with purpose
They will NOT compromise!
Looking to You, not by might nor by power but by Your Spirit
Rain, fall from heaven, fall afresh on us!
No weapon formed against us shall prosper
Binding deception and lies of the enemy, today
Calling for a renewed energy of Your Spirit, Lord
Hearing and heeding to Your instructions, Father
Lord, empower us to complete our call and plan
Seeds that have been planted would produce a harvest
We are hungry for a move of Your Spirit, Lord
Eyes will be opened to the truth of Your Word
Keeping our eyes fixed and focused on You
Walls are coming down and the believers are rising up
Every need is being met according to Your Word
Holy, holy, holy are You, Lord
