Make a Prayer Sandwich!
Christ’s model prayer started with praise: “Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name…” and ended with praise: “…For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen” (Matt. 6:9, 13). This is what I like to call the “Sandwich Technique.” Start your prayer thanking Him, praising Him, and declaring how big He is. Then, slide in your petition and end by praising Him some more. When you approach God with your request by slipping it in between two healthy slices of praise and thanksgiving, you’ll find that you don’t really have that much to ask Him for.
“Oh God, the doctor told me that I’m going to die! I remember this same condition killed Aunt Suzie. It’s so bad!” That kind of “praying” just discourages you. It builds up fear and depression. What if you prayed more like this? “Father, thank You that Your name is above every name. Cancer has a name. AIDS has a name. These things the doctor told me are in my body have names. You are above them all! Thank You that You are greater, stronger, and more powerful than all of this!” Spend another five or ten minutes just praising Him for His greatness, then by the time you’re ready to put your request in, it’d be more like, “Father, this is so small in comparison to what You’re able to do. I shouldn’t even have to ask, but the doctor did say that I’m going to die. So since Jesus has already provided my healing, I’ll just receive it!” Then go back to praising and worshiping Him. In light of who God is, nothing is really that big of a problem.
Many people pray, “Our Judge, which art in heaven. You are so very far away. Oh God, I’m going to die…” and then spend forty minutes talking about what the doctor said before ending with, “… heal me in the name of Jesus, if it by Thy will” and wonder why they’re depressed. That’s a depressing, ineffective prayer! The only one going to answer that type of prayer is the devil.
Praise
Whatever you focus on will magnify in your eyes. Focus on the problem and it’ll grow. Focus on God (who is your solution) and your vision of Him will increase. This is why the direction of your prayer is so important. Will you choose to magnify God or your problem? The one you magnify will grow stronger in your life and the other weaker.
A huge amount of prayer ought to be praise! Praise is important because it blesses God and strengthens you. The Lord inhabits the praises of His people. (Ps. 22:3.) That’s the main reason why church services usually start with praise and worship!
One of the words in the original language for prayer literally means “worship.” Another means “to kiss the face.” Prayer is worship and worship is prayer. Prayer is kissing our Father’s face. Prayer is loving and communing with God.

Calling for the Church and the body to be lined up, renewed, and restored!
No, we will not abandon that, but we will look over every detail and facet of that, Lord
We ask for Your truth to be revealed in Jesus’ name!
Calling for every lie of the enemy to be exposed, uncovered, and revealed
The blood of Jesus is working on our behalf, and we choose to cooperate with it
There is healing and wholeness in the precious blood of Jesus
Pushing out further and further today in You, Lord
Some things are done, and some things are still yet to be won
The promises have already come, and the provisions have already been won
We call, receive, and believe for those things to move in the right way
Not bending under any kind of pressure but bending under the power of the glory!
Praying that those things will be lined up and restored in Jesus’ name!
We ask You to give us a greater increase of Your Holy Spirit
Supernatural ways and steps are being carried out
Your glory and Your presence is making a way where there seems to be no way
No, it cannot be stopped for it shall come to pass
Calling for doors to be opened and for minds to expect and receive
Every rusty way will be oiled up by the spirit
Give us a greater increase of fire and desire, dear God
Those things You have said in Your Word are coming to pass in these days
We plead the blood of Jesus over every operation and plan
Our steps are being ordered from heaven today
Praise always moves us forward in the right way
There is an increase, and we ask for more and more of You today, Father
We will stay steady in those right plans and steps
Standing strong and contending all day long
Old things have passed away and all things have been made new
It is the fight of faith, and we will enter on into the plans and purposes of the Father
Resources of every kind are being provided today!
Nothing wasted, nothing stolen in Jesus’ name!
Every piece and every part will be joined together
Supernatural restoration today!
We are overcomers by the blood of Jesus
Times of refreshing and times of wholeness are on the horizon
Thank You for everything You have done for us and all that You are continually doing in and through us
We give You all of the glory honor and praise today
