Prayer Summary for Friday, October 02, 2015

Pastor Ray shared…

We were talking this morning about how Prime Minister Netanyahu “stared ‘em down” at the UN. He got on their case about being silent when the people of Israel were being killed. Of course, there was the whole Iran deal and everything else that is going on and so he just stopped and stared at them. There was not one sound in the UN. He stared them down. It was anointed! Sometimes silence is stronger than words.

I had read this in Jeremiah 6:16, “Thus says the Lord: Stand by the roads and look; and ask for the eternal paths, where the good, old way is; then walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.” The last part of that verse is negative. They said, “We will not walk in it!” Ouch.

The Amplified Bible refers you to Matthew 29—“Take My yoke upon you, learn of Me for I’m gentle, humble in heart and you will find rest, relief, ease, refreshment, recreation, and blessed quiet for your souls. For My yoke is wholesome, useful, good, not harsh, hard, sharp or pressing but comfortable, gracious and pleasant. And My burden is light and easy to be borne.” When I read that, I remembered I did a study on that. So I thought about that this morning—His way. It’s not that we’re to follow the paths of the men and women of old; it’s that we are to follow the paths of the men and women of old that did what God told them to do. That’s how I took that verse to mean.

The Lord has been teaching me day to day about how to pray and about His wisdom behind what we pray. For this particular day and this hour that we live in, we can’t pray what we used to pray in years past because that was for a specific time. So we need words from heaven for “now.”

This morning I asked Him, “What should our prayers look like and sound like in this day and this hour?” You can get totally overwhelmed looking at the darkness, so we’ve got to have a light that’s brighter than the darkness. So this scripture in Psalm 138 came and it astounded me. I read it yesterday and it all comes into the 1st John (those who say they love God but hate their brother is a liar). We’re seated high above in heavenly places with Him. From that place, we pray what He says to pray without fear or trepidation or anxiety or despair over what’s happening. We can’t be in faith when we’re in fear or anxiety. We’ve got to have the mind of God and be in a place with Him.

Psalm 138:4–5 says, “All the kings of the earth shall praise thee, O Lord, when they hear the words of thy mouth. Yea, they shall sing in the ways of the Lord: for great is the glory of the Lord.” Think of that for a minute. “All” the kings of the earth shall praise His name. This is the way God thinks and speaks and eventually what He says comes into being. “All the kings of the earth shall praise Your name when they hear the words of Your mouth, O Lord.” We need to be speaking the Word of God wherever we go and into all the nations. Amen? Then the kings will start praising His name when they hear the words of the Lord. “They shall sing in the ways of the Lord.” All the kings of the earth! Can you just see that? Hold onto it. Be encouraged by it. We can read in the back of the Book and know that it will happen. “For great is Your glory, O Lord.” So that was a step for me and it brought me up.

Then today, with the stuff that happened yesterday with the shooting [in Oregon]. My husband, Pastor Steve, and I were home listening to the news. The station said they weren’t going to say the shooter’s name. At the time, I was reading 1st John, about those that abide in love abide in God and if any man says he loves God and hates his brother, he’s a liar. Pretty heavy. I remembered one time when the Holy Ghost said to me so strong, “Nothing, absolutely nothing is worth your prayer anointing being stolen.” So offense, unforgiveness… nothing is worth that anointing in prayer being stolen because the anointing in prayer, He said, is life and death. That shook me to the core. I thought, “Okay, I’ll remember that.” So if I get mad or rear up at somebody or take offense, what He said to me about the anointing being stolen comes before me. Then 1st John says if you say you love God and if you hate your brother then you’re a liar. Abiding in that love is so tremendously important for us as pray-ers.

So Steve and I were talking about this and the news announcer said, “The guy…” I said, “You mean the barbarian?” I looked at Steve and he looked at me and goes, “Yeah.” Then I looked down at the word I was reading in 1st John about hating your brother and I heard the Holy Spirit say, “We battle not against flesh and blood.” I looked at Steve and said, “You mean this poor messed up kid that the devil has come into possess.”

I thought is there then a righteous war? Yes, there is. God knows who will turn and who will not. But at the same time, the love of our enemies and the prayer life that we have for human beings and the tenacity and the anger and the authority that we come across with toward the enemy of our souls, toward the devil and the principalities and powers of darkness that took over this kid and screwed him up. I believe that might be why the Pope forgave the guy that shot him. He said he forgave him. If you say you love God and you hate your brother, how can your prayers avail? And nothing is worth losing your prayer anointing.

This morning when I woke up, I said, “Lord, now what? What do we do here in this place with Syria and Iran. What do we do, Lord?” I saw those nations like on a map and the turmoil and hatred that is there; the principalities and powers of darkness there are using these men and women. He said, “This is what you can do. Name the nation and when you don’t know what to pray, pray in the spirit.” I remembered that’s what Billye’s book, How to Pray in the End Times talks about. There are so many details in each nation that should be prayed about, so many factions there, so if we name the nation and pray in the spirit, that will avail. That’s what He said to do. It’s the next step. So remember to walk in love because it’s so important in these days that we be right with the Lord, pure in heart and know that what He says for us to do will avail.

Let’s sing the song about the kings of the earth. It takes you up to a place of faith and hope.

♪ All the kings of the earth shall praise Your name… when they hear the words of Your mouth, O Lord, all the kings of the earth will praise Your name when they hear the words of Your mouth, O Lord… They will sing of Your ways, O Lord, for great is Your glory, O God… ♪

Can we do that, Ray? Can we name the names of the nations and pray?

Pastor Ray…

Sure. Let’s do it.

I lift up the nation of Syria right now. We’ll put our prayer language to work there and it will be fruitful and do what it’s supposed to do.

Last night, this phrase just popped up in me. It was “the things we do not see.” As I was sitting here, that came to me again. The things we do not see. We see a lot of things on the news. We see things that are happening with our natural eyes. But we need to pray for the things we do not see. Lynne used to talk about this a lot. We don’t want to react to the news. We want to be ahead of the news. I was thinking when Jerre was talking about that shooting, I thought, “Was there not one believer there on that campus in this person’s life that could have ministered to that person?” We have failed because we’re not praying about the things we do not see. We’re reacting to things and we need to get ahead of the game. So when we’re praying for these places, don’t just pray about what you know in your head from the news. Get into the flow of the Spirit and pray about the things we do not see, because the Holy Ghost knows what is going on in every situation, every person’s heart, every decision that’s being made, He knows. And because He’s on the inside of us, we can know and we can pray for those things and we can see those things in the spirit and take care of them before they happen. So when I hear about those things on the news I say, “God, I’m a pray-er. Why didn’t I pick that up?” Or did we pick it up and it could have been a bigger mess than it actually was? We don’t know. It was limited to a small number. It could have been a huge thing. We don’t always know when we’re praying the targets that we hit and take care of. But I believe we can do a better job if we focus on praying for those things by the spirit and not just connecting with our minds but connecting by the spirit and praying those things that we do not see.

Jerre led in prayer…

Father, Your Word says that You show us great and mighty things to come. So we pray that way. We open that door, Lord. So we lift up the nation of Syria (all are praying in the spirit). … We lift up the nation of Russia (praying in the spirit). … We lift up the nation of Ukraine (praying in the spirit). … We lift up Iran (praying in the spirit). … The Koreas (praying in the spirit). … Iraq, Iraq, Iraq (praying in the spirit). … Pakistan and Afghanistan (praying in the spirit).

Pastor Ray said…

Let’s pray over the UN for a while (praying in the spirit).

Jerre said…

Let’s lift up Israel and the United States together (praying in the spirit). … Every land, Father, we lift up every land (praying in the spirit).

I believe we did some damage to the enemy today! Do you? On Wednesday service, we shared that the Lord said to enter into the celebration of your prayers. He said it is the finishing of your prayer. So we enter into the celebration of whatever we prayed today in the Holy Ghost which was perfect and right on that it will come to pass. We rejoice and we celebrate, Lord, and we say this—“we will see a difference in Jesus’ name! Hallelujah!” So go in peace and know that the Lord is well pleased with our yielding today.
