Ephesians 1:17, Passion Trans. “And the Father of glory, the God of our Lord Jesus Christ would unveil in you the riches of the spirit of wisdom and the spirit of revelation through your deepening intimacy with Him.” That’s where we want to be isn’t it? “I pray that the light of God will illuminate the eyes of your imagination flooding you with light until you experience the full revelation of our great hope of glory. We know that is the reason He called you to Himself. I pray that you explore and experience for yourselves all the riches of this wealth that has been freely given to all His holy ones, for you are His true inheritance. My prayer for you is that every moment you will experience the measureless power of God made available to you through faith. Then your lives will be an advertisement of this immense power as it works through you. This is the explosive and mighty resurrection power that was released when God raised Christ from the dead and exalted Him to the place of highest honor and supreme authority in the heavenly realm. And now He’s exalted higher than all the thrones and principalities above every ruler and authority and above every realm of power there is. He is gloriously enthroned over every name that is ever praised, not only in this age but in the age that is to come. And He alone is the leader and the source of everything needed in the church. God has put everything beneath the authority of Jesus Christ and has given Him the highest rank above all others and now we His church are His body on the earth and the completion of Him that fills all things with His presence flowing through us.”
Along with that James 5:16b, “The earnest heartfelt continued prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available, dynamic in its working. Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain. No rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. And then he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops as usual.”
For all that time, he prayed and there was no rain on the earth for three years and six months. I wonder what all he was doing and saying in those 3 ½ years before he prayed, “let there be rain.” In verse 17, we can see the power to stop things was operating through Elijah. He stopped rain and then verse 18, how the power was available but it began to operate then when he was raised up. So he spoke and then the rains began to fall. In other words, something that was stopped through prayer, then the time came when he started it at the right time.
When I first started coming to Living Word, there were power in those meetings and there were things that we’d all see that we never saw before. There were things that Pastor Lynne did I never saw anyone do or say before. The anointing was on it. If the Holy Ghost has a plan for you, He’ll work it out in you and you’ll see things you’ve never seen but you’ll still obey what He’s calling you to do. So if there is a call, and there is… He’s always calling. He’s speaking right now. I believe He’s speaking to us to stop some things that are happening on the earth by our words and prayers, sending out a supply of resurrection power to these situations during this time. Maybe it’s to stop some things. I love how He told us what to do but then He showed us what Elijah did and made a point of saying “He’s just like you.” It shouldn’t be unusual.
