Prayer Summary for April 18

Prayed…

Thank You Father, that the blood keeps the destroyer away
It brings life and light to us
Thank You for the freedom of living in this day and hour
All of our sufficiency is in You!
Our eyes are on You, and we are expectant
Give us endurance to finish!

Scripture Focus…

(11) “So great fear came upon all the church and upon all who heard these things. (12) And through the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were done among the people. And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s Porch.”
(Acts 5:11-12 NKV)

(6) “But when they did not find them, they dragged Jason and some brethren to the rulers of the city, crying out, ‘These who have turned the world upside down have come here too… (17) Therefore he reasoned in the synagogue with the Jews and with the Gentile worshipers, and in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there.'”
(Acts 17:6, 17 NKJV)

(19) “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil….”
(Heb. 6:19 NKJV)

(12) “For this reason I also suffer these things; nevertheless I am not ashamed, for I know whom I have believed and am persuaded that He is able to keep what I have committed to Him until that Day.”
(2 Tim. 1:12 NKJV)

(10) “[For my determined purpose is] that I may know Him [that I may progressively become more deeply and intimately acquainted with Him, perceiving and recognizing and understanding the wonders of His Person more strongly and more clearly], and that I may in that same way come to know the power outflowing from His resurrection [which it exerts over believers], and that I may so share His sufferings as to be continually transformed [in spirit into His likeness even] to His death, [in the hope]”
(Phil. 3:10 Amp.)

The following commentary to Acts 17:6 was taken from the Spirit Filled Study Bible:

17:6 Guidelines Amid a Visitation, REVIVAL. So explosive was the revival in Acts, it was as if the world had turned “upside down.” A visitation of God’s Spirit puts leadership in a role requiring wisdom in “handling” such explosiveness. To see His purpose fully accomplished, these guidelines may help: 1) Follow the life of the Holy Spirit. If we respond to the revival in fear (quenching the Spirit) or presumption (seizing initiative God has not given us), we grieve the Holy Spirit. See Eph. 4:30; 5:18; 1 Thess. 5:19. 2) Resolve not to “control” the revival. Seek God for discernment between “leading” and “restricting”; monitor the visitation, but stay submitted to Him. Give wise stewardship to the gracious move of the Spirit. See 1 Cor. 4:1,2; James 4:7; 1 Pet. 2:21. 3) Seek the counsel of gifted ministries, each submitting to and complementing the other as God has designed His church to work together. See Prov. 11:14; 1 Cor. 12:1-28; 14:32; Eph. 4:11, 12; 1 Thess. 5:11. 4) Always complement the experiential side of the visitation with the consistent, systematic teaching of the Word of God. See Luke 24:27; Acts 17:11; Eph.6:17; Heb. 4:12. 5) Always keep the focus of the revival on God, not “things that happen.” In a genuine move of God, people will need to be led to worship God and glorify Him as the Initiator and Sustainer of such blessing and the Source of wisdom and power to walk wisely in it.

The following confession was read during Morning Prayer:

Stability Confession

I stay calm in the midst of strife, fear, anger, and other obstacles the enemy throws at me by attending to God’s Word, inclining my ears to His Word, not letting them depart from my eyes and keeping them in the midst of my heart.

My times are made stable by His wisdom and knowledge. I am established in righteousness. Oppression, fear, and terror are far from me. He gives His angels charge over me, and I won’t dash my foot against a stone. They bear me up, and I remain stable and fixed! No weapon formed against me shall prosper and any that gather against me shall fall. The knowledge of His perfect love and all that it involves keeps me in perfect peace because He is love and my mind is stayed on Him. Perfect love casts out all fear. My soundness of mind involves the knowledge that I have His mind, and He has not given me a spirit of fear or unbelief. He knew His Father and that He was always to be trusted. He knew the Word of God was forever settled in Heaven. As Jesus is in this world, so am I.

He is my rock. He is my fortress. He is my deliverer. He is my strength. He is my shield and buckler. He is the horn of salvation. He is my high tower. He is my joy. Of whom, or what, shall I be afraid? He makes my way perfect. He is my stay. If God be for me, who can be against me? He is always present. He is my shepherd. He is my provider. He is my peace. He is my captain. He is my banner and my victor. He is my physician. He is my righteousness. He is faithful and true. He is the all-sufficient One.

The following commentary to Philippians 3:10 was taken from the Spirit Filled Study Bible:

Kingdom Dynamics

3:10 To know Him, GROWING IN KNOWING. This passage sums up Paul’s primary pursuit in life: to know Christ. From a prison cell in Rome, Paul pens this personal letter in which he comes to terms with an accomplished past and a confining present. After his past as a persecutor of God’s people and through his “superior” religious activities as a Pharisee, Paul came to the liberating conclusion that all is rubbish compared to knowing the Lord! (v. 8). Freed from the stagnation of yesterday’s victories and the emotional paralysis of yesterday’s mistakes, Paul knew that the only thing that ultimately counted was knowing the Lord and being obedient to his will.

Not only was his past subsumed by his singular passion, his present imprisonment could not snatch from him the joy of knowing Christ. Prison chains could not keep him from pursuing God, nor dull his effectiveness in ministry (1:12-14). Paul’s desire to know Christ sprang from no other motive but to enjoy Him. He wanted Christ for Christ’s sake, not a user of God. And whether he moved in Christ’s resurrection power or was stretched to his last ounce of endurance, it mattered little. For Paul, it was all a part of the most fulfilling journey of all: truly knowing God.

Continued Praying…

Father, we pray that You would grant utterance to the five-fold ministry gifts
A word to penetrate the hearts of the people
We believe for hearing ears!
Make us aware that everything we have need of in this life has already been provided!
You are calling us upward away from the world system
Father, You are calling us to a place of intimate knowledge of You
We are looking for the determined purpose of the Church to be to know You above all else!
Thank You for hunger and thirst after righteousness breaking out in Your body
Father, You turn the hearts of kings!
Pour out Your Spirit upon Your sons and daughters!
We ask for a greater stirring and an awakening in the Church
You know how to cause her to shake off the lethargy and apathy!
Touch the ears of the Church and strengthen us to obey!
No longer to hesitate and say, “I will wait another day and then go to the Father”
We MUST be transformed to be Your hands and feet
We MUST turn this world upside down!
Christian schools must be CHRISTIAN schools
Strengthen those who have been holding fast to You!
Grant them encouragement and lift them to a higher place
We are calling for this nation – that You would come!
You are good, Father!
Father, we are looking for strength to be infused in the body of Christ
That we would access the mercy flow
Your perfect love casts out every shred of fear!
There are marks that distinguish us from the world system for our eyes are upon You
To whom shall we go, for You alone are the truth and the way!
We are looking for Your voice to be amplified
Words that pierce the hearts and shake up people’s theologies
That people might taste and see Your goodness
Outbursts of signs and miracles!
Applying the blood even over the little ones for boldness and courage
Thank You, Father, for atmospheric conditions
We plead the blood over the believers in hospitals, prisons, and schools
Let the wind of Your Spirit flow through the universities
For the believers to be raised to higher positions of influence
That they would know You experientially so they can minister to others
You have placed and appointed men and women in the government for this time
Grant them wisdom and let them come to the end of themselves
Let that stirring and hunger lead them on the path to deeper knowledge of You
Calling for divine and supernatural connections
We are looking for a great outpouring in these last days!
Send Your fire to the nuns, priests, and clergy as they stand in the pulpits and wait on You!
Thank You for continued communion with You!
