Morning Prayer Summary for Thursday, November 29, 2018

Pastor Ray shared…

I wanted to read Romans 8:26–27. It came up in me again. We’ve gone over this verse many times before. We don’t always know what to pray about and we, many times, don’t even know how to pray about it even if we knew what to pray about. Someone came up to me after morning prayer and said things in their family were so bad, so devilish that she quit praying in her natural language and she started praying more, almost completely, in other tongues. Because she didn’t know what to pray about. She knew what was happening but she didn’t know any other way to pray other than praying in the spirit.

Here is Romans 8:26 in the Passion translation:

26 “And in a similar way, the Holy Spirit takes hold of us in our human frailty to empower us in our weakness. For example, at times we don’t even know how to pray, or know the best things to ask for. But the Holy Spirit rises up within us to super-intercede on our behalf, pleading to God with emotional sighs too deep for words.”

Are we praying if we’re just sighing? Yes! Or if we’re groaning. I like this footnote. It says, “The Greek word hupererentugkhano is best translated “super [or hyper]-intercede for us.” That’s the Holy Spirit. He’s super (or hyper) interceding for us on our behalf. So we can only imagine how many blessings have been poured into our lives because of the hyper intercession of the Holy Spirit for us. How can we lose? Or groanings. This verse talks about that. And the footnote says “We find three groanings in this chapter. Creation groans for the glorious freedom of God’s children (v. 22), we groan to experience the fullness of our status as God’s children (v. 23), and the Holy Spirit groans for our complete destiny to be fulfilled (here).”

One other version, The Message. “Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting…” We can get tired of it. “God’s Spirit is right alongside helping us along.” If we ever thought we were alone, we’re not! Right? “If we don’t know how or what to pray, it doesn’t matter.” I love that. That way we can’t miss it if we’re praying in the Spirit and a lot of the times praying in other tongues. “He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans. He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our pregnant condition, and keeps us present before God. That’s why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” We can be sure of it. This is the Word. We’ve gone through this for the last few weeks… talking about getting out of the natural and getting into the realm of the Spirit. One way is we take the Word, we take it into ourselves, and we’re lifted by that. We lift Him up and worship Him. We pray. There are times we don’t know how to pray, but many times, maybe you think if you’re tuning in here in the room, you think we know exactly what to pray for. No. But we all enter in and do the best we can to get over in the realm of the Spirit and then let Him reveal it to us and then lift that up.

It’s been a while ago, but in one of our prayer groups that we had years ago, one of the men… I’ll use this as an example. We’d say, “We’re going to pray for Pastor Mac and Lynne. We’ll lift them up. We’re going to pray in the Holy Ghost over them.” So we’d start praying in other tongues. And we’d spend the rest of the hour praying in other tongues for our pastors. If English words came up, we’d speak them forth. But, basically, we’d stay in the area of praying in other tongues. Toward the end when we felt like we accomplished what we were supposed to, there was a guy that would always have to add his English version of what we should be praying for them for. I’d always think, “Wait, I thought we decided we’re going to pray and let Him lead us and not pray out of our minds.” I don’t ever want to do that. To me, that’s making light of praying in the Spirit and then getting back over into my mind and think, “You know what, I saw them yesterday and I think da, da, da, da…” The Holy Spirit may not even be praying for them at that time. There may be something else that He is praying about, praying through us. We’re not alone.

The Holy Spirit in the night brought treasures to my heart. I thought, “Okay, I know where You’re going with that.” The Lord brought to me the Carpenter version of Ephesians 3:16, “That He would grant you according to the riches of His glory to be strengthened with might by His spirit in the inner man.” And it says this, “I am thinking of your inner selves, the deep well of Character, whence actions and habits are thrown up. As a rich man keeps his chief treasures in an inner strong room of his house, I want the deep center of your life to be a stronghold where the Holy Spirit reigns, the Strengthener, the Comforter, where He and you together, he, the Giver of Life, and you with your glad obedience, make up a mansion where our Lord can come and dwell.”

Isn’t that good? That’s a treasure. The Holy Spirit told us He wouldn’t leave us. The Lord said He would send another comforter, one exactly like Himself. Not a different one. Not a lower degree. Not a lesser degree. But the same Spirit that raised Him from the dead dwells on the inside of us. That is amazing.

I want to share this word spoken through Kenneth E. Hagin in 1988.

Maintaining the Glow

For He is high, and He is holy, and you cannot worship Him with man’s means. Yea, you dare not come into His presence in your own holiness or righteousness. But you must come into His presence robed in His righteousness. Come into His presence clean and holy but thou canst not make thyself clean neither can thou make thou self holy. For man alone is an utter failure. But you can come into His presence because His blood cleaneth you from all sin. You can come into His presence because His blood has atoned for your sins and all are washed away. And you are made unto your God kings and priests. So, put on your robe of righteousness and enter into His presence with thanks giving and allow the Holy Spirit, who dwells in your spirit to teach you to be reverent. Yea, come not with the clamorings of the flesh. There shall come a time, in fact the day has now arrived, that you will learn to worship Me, said the Lord of hosts, on a different level in which you have worshiped. Even learn to praise Me on a different level in which you have learned to praise. For so much of that which has been in that manifestation among you has only been in the flesh. But now you will come into the broad place of the Spirit. Come with a reverence. Come with a humility. Come with a desire to fellowship with Me. Come not in arrogance. Come not in the energy of the flesh. But rather come with a humble spirit. Crucifying the flesh. Not letting it dominate you or even endeavor to worship me as such. But come in a spirit and oh that can only be as you respond unto to the Holy Spirit. For the Holy Spirit Knoweth the mind of God and he will lead you in the way even in worship as the Father would have you to worship Him. For He is high and He is holy. And you come not unto Him as you would come unto man. And you give not Him applause as you would man. For you must not bring Him down on the level of man but you must come up on the level where He is in holiness and reverence. Worshiping Him and Him alone. Worshiping Him and Him alone. Worshiping Him and Him alone. And then shall the Spirit of God descend upon you like mighty rain from heaven. Mighty rivers shall flow out of you and ye shall be known as a reverent worshipful people. And ye shall be known as a supernatural people. For the supernatural will be ordinary with you. And it shall be said of you as it was said of those in days gone by they that have turned the world upside down are come higher also. Hallelujah!

Father that is our prayer, that Your people would come before You in humility and reverence and worship You in the Spirit by the Holy Spirit. That we be set apart, sanctified, separated unto You… That we would always give You the highest seat, the highest place of honor in our prayers and actions and activities… Without You, we know nothing. We have nothing. We are nothing. Our trust is in You. You gave us the Holy Spirit… let us never be casual about that, Father… let us ever be mindful of the Holy Spirit dwelling in us… esteeming the gift of God on the inside… we are the temple of the Holy Spirit… containers of Your presence… let us draw nearer to You… we need You more than ever… for this time… how to function and advance and overcome obstacles… how to reach the unreached… things to open up… reveal and unveil the things of the Father for this hour… rising higher … unfolding and revealing to believers their place… how to influence this generation… praying out the mysteries… preparing the way… that You would set up amongst Your people… distinguishing marks… supernatural… come out from among them… the world’s way of thinking… come unto Me and I will give you rest… peace that passes understanding… we desire for You to be seen and glorified… carriers of You, Your very self…

Sister Jeannie Wilkerson prophesied:

“Yea,” saith the Spirit of the Lord, “Thou shalt truly become the body that I AM. Thou shalt truly become the body prepared for the Lord God, Himself to dwell. Yea, thou shalt become the body moving in the earth. And thou art going to shake off every cord and every hindrance that has fastened itself upon thee. The weights are going to be removed, For thou canst not rise with these weights fastened upon thee. And this body that I Am in thee shall become like in the Lord. It shall be full of the life of God. And all that is darkness is going to be revealed. And therefore when the light doth shine, darkness doth flee away. When the body doth become truly the body of the Lord Jesus Christ, then all darkness will of necessity have vanished away. And this is the hour of the completion of this act of God. Whereby He doth make the body truly the body of life.”

“And now are ye light in the Lord. And the Spirit is even in the process now of finishing the last act of God in the earth, in a body. Awww watch Him as He moves from now on. Watch His body. For it is going to be moved with power and great glory and anointing. And spirits will be fearful and tremble. For they have heard of the rising up of the Lord God in the midst of His people. And again as they become the powerful militant body of the Lord. Satan’s forces are going to retract their statements that they have made concerning Me. Yea, they are going to withdraw from the sanctuary of the most high God. They’re going to be driven back and driven out,” saith the Lord. “For they have no place here. And all that is not of My life and My light will be removed,” saith the Lord. “For this is the hour of it. Look now to it,” saith the Spirit of the Lord.

Prayed…

Father, we’re looking for that transition and that transformation to be more and more complete … in Your hand, You mold us and make us… You transform us by Your Spirit… sons of God… without spot or wrinkle… for there must be now a transformation… a transition, O God… no longer staying with the status quo… moving and drawn by Your spirit of mercy and grace… drawing us to Yourself… My sheep hear My voice… there are guides along the way… the Holy Spirit is the guide and He says this is the way, walk ye in it… no longer delay… I’ll walk in the way… each day, giving yourself to the Word and Spirit… for you are a supernatural people… set apart by My Spirit for such a time as this… we look for that, Father… to see the glory of God in the church… the world is wearied without the displays of Jesus Christ… You’ve chosen us… to be in Your image and likeness… we yield ourselves to You… so we live with purpose and passion and an intimate relationship with You…

I want to read from a book called “For God’s Sake, Grow Up.” by David Ravenhill. I’ll just read some highlights.

Growing in Intimacy With God

It’s time to grow up. It’s time for believers to come under the tutoring of God and become trained in His ways. Though many yearn to be part of God’s purpose, they fail to understand that our involvement with God’s purpose flows out of our intimacy with God. Our personal relationship with God is the one basic prerequisite for an effective Christian life. Mark recalls that Jesus appointed 12, “that they might be with Him …

Erika interjected: Think about that. “that they might be with Him.” He called them aside to be with Him. They had the Torah. They had all that. He said I want you to read that a little bit more and I’ll come and check back with you. He didn’t say that.

“Like Gabriel, we need to stand in the presence of God before we are sent forth to proclaim His Word. To fail here is to fail everywhere. It is only as we come to know God and His ways that we can fully understand His mind and purpose. There is far too much “Spiritual” activity today that lacks the hand of God’s blessing upon it.

Erika interjected: I’m not discounting and saying there is none. You understand that, right?

We have seen the television evangelists who like the speech of Proverbs, constantly cry, “Give, give, give.” The show goes on oblivious to the fact that God has long since removed His blessing. How desperately we need to return to a new hunger after His presence. Like the holy anointing oil of old, there can be no substitute. No wonder the Lord says, “Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, that I am the Lord.”

The one common denominator of every effective saint of God has been a love for His presence. David, despite his failings, had a longing after His God. Time after time, he expressed in the Psalms his desire to know Him more intimately. “As the deer pants for the water brooks, so my soul pants for Thee, O Lord.”
