Morning Prayer Summary for Thursday, May 02, 2019

Mary led group singing God Bless America

Pastor Ray shared…

I remind you what Billye Brim said about America. “No man can save America. The only thing that will save America is God, an awakening.” An awakening to God.

Group pledged allegiance to the flag…

I pledge allegiance to the flag… of the United States of America… to the republic for which it stands… one nation under God, indivisible with liberty and justice for all.

We have two flags up here. We have America’s flag as well as Israel’s flag. Israel’s flag reminds us while we pray for America, it’s good to lift up and pray for Israel too. Why is it good to pray for Israel? Genesis 12:2 –3, “I will make of you a great nation and I will bless you with abundant increase of favors and make your name famous and distinguished. And you will be a blessing, dispensing good to others. And I will bless those who bless you, who confer prosperity or happiness upon you and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you. And you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed. And by you they will bless themselves.”

Do we believe that? Today as we pray for our own country, we take our authority in Jesus’ name and use it against anti-Semitism. We’re in agreement about this.

Prayed…

We take authority and hold the blood of the Lamb against those that would speak up against the nation of Israel in an anti-Semitic way. In Jesus’ name, we will not see our nations separate. We see these two flags in the front of the chapel this morning connected together forever. Forever. So we lift up Israel, their leaders and we pray over the land of Israel, what needs to take place… we pray for the peace of Jerusalem … and declare, again, this morning that Jerusalem will never be divided up. The land has been given to Israel and it shall not be taken away. We stand with Israel as representatives of the United States of America and we bless the nation of Israel. Hallelujah.

Pastor Ray continued…

Thank God that we have a nation that decided years ago to have a day in May where all the country would lift up the country in prayer. Thank God we can assemble in the chapel to pray. We have freedom in this nation and we don’t take it lightly. I want to read this proclamation.

Presidential Proclamation on National Day of Prayer

Issued on: April 30, 2019

Americans have always found power and unity through prayer. In 1988, the Congress, by Public Law 100-307, called on the President to issue each year a proclamation designating the first Thursday in May as a “National Day of Prayer.” Today, on this National Day of Prayer, we once again come together to give thanks to Almighty God for the bountiful blessings He has bestowed on our great Nation and to ask for His unfailing counsel. We also acknowledge our dependence on God’s love to guide our families, communities, and our country away from harm and toward abundance and peace.

Our Nation acknowledges that religious liberty is a natural right, given to us by our Creator, not a courtesy that government extends to us. The First Amendment recognizes the freedom of religion and safeguards this right against government infringement. The United States’ steadfast commitment to upholding religious freedom has ensured that people of different faiths can pray together and live in peace as fellow American citizens. We have no tolerance for those who disrupt this peace, and we condemn all hate and violence, particularly in our places of worship.

Throughout our Nation’s history, Americans have consistently turned to God for guidance at pivotal moments. In 1775, the Continental Congress first declared a day of prayer, asking American patriots throughout the colonies to pray in earnest for divine help in forming our Republic. Seventy-five years ago this June, President Franklin D. Roosevelt led the Nation in prayer as courageous Americans stormed the beaches of Normandy on D-Day. He prayed: “Almighty God: Our sons, pride of our Nation, this day have set upon a mighty endeavor . . . Lead them straight and true; give strength to their arms, stoutness to their hearts, steadfastness in their faith.” Today, we also pray for strength for our Nation and our Armed Forces as we face new challenges at home and abroad.

Our Nation’s honored tradition of prayer has sustained us and strengthened our trust that God will continue to watch over and accompany us through the best of times and the darkest hours. May we as Americans never forget the power of prayer and the greatness of our Creator. On this National Day of Prayer, let each of us, according to our own faiths, call upon God for His guidance and express our gratitude for the love and grace He bestows on us and our country.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, DONALD J. TRUMP, President of the United States of America, by virtue of the authority vested in me by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, do hereby proclaim May 2, 2019, as a National Day of Prayer. I invite the citizens of our Nation to pray, in accordance with their own faiths and consciences, in thanksgiving for the freedoms and blessings we have received, and for God’s guidance and continued protection as we meet the challenges before us.

IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand this thirtieth day of April, in the year of our Lord two thousand nineteen, and of the Independence of the United States of America the two hundred and forty-third.

DONALD J. TRUMP

Pastor Ray continued…

That’s not just a proclamation. That’s a declaration! We’ll just take it as a word from God through our President asking the country to lift it up and pray for it.

Mary led group is worship singing We Thank You for the Blood of Jesus Christ

Prayed…

We lift up our cities of Minneapolis/St. Paul and all the suburbs… we get in agreement with the pray-ers and prayers that will be prayed in Minnesota today… thank You for the blood… we set ourselves in harmony and believe that what must be done in Minnesota will be done… we’re moving more toward You way… we declare that Jesus is Lord over Minnesota… the blood of Jesus at the State Capital in St. Paul…

So, there’s a theme for today that has been put out from the National Day of Prayer group. It’s “love one another just as I have loved you.” John 13:34. Here it is in the Message. “Let me give you a new command: Love one another. In the same way I loved you, you love one another. This is how everyone will recognize that you are my disciples—when they see the love you have for each other.”

I like that. We’re His hands and feet. If they can’t see His love in us, there’s a problem. The State of Minnesota has a proclamation the Governor put out.

WHEREAS: The needs of the people of Minnesota are great: for jobs, for the safe return of our troops; and for health, hope, and reconciliation for all; and

WHEREAS: The assets of our state are abundant: rich farm land, beautiful lakes, strong families, and an unmatched heritage of hard work, sacrifice, patriotism, innovative ideas, and community service; and

WHEREAS: We desire to foster in our State and nation an inclusive, broadminded, and tolerant society; and

WHEREAS: From the earliest days of our nation, through war and terrorism, economic challenges, natural disasters and the loss of our fallen heroes in the military and law enforcement, our people have turned to prayer to seek wisdom, guidance, and strength, and to express thanks; and

WHEREAS: The Congress of the United States has designated the first Thursday in May as the National Day of Prayer. And

WHEREAS: The theme of the 68th annual National Day of Prayer is “love one another.”

NOW, THEREFORE, I, TIM WALZ, Governor of Minnesota, do hereby proclaim Thursday, May 2, 2019 as: MINNESOTA DAY OF PRAYER in the State of Minnesota. SECRETARY OF STATE IN WITNESS WHEREOF, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the State of Minnesota to be affixed at the State Capitol this 2th day of March.

So we have the President and the Governor making proclamations about prayer. There’s a list about four different points that came out from the National Day of Prayer.

4 PRAYER PRIORITIES FOR AMERICA IN MAY 2019

While Thursday, May 2, is our National Day of Prayer, we must be vigilant to pray for America consistently and even daily. These are our four major prayer priorities for America in the month of May. Tell your friends, share these prayer points with them, with pastors, and church, business, and educational leaders. Let’s join in clear agreement, visible union, and extraordinary prayer for these priorities during May 2019.

  1. ASK GOD TO BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA

“Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord—the people He has chosen to be His own possession!” Psalm 33:12

Ask God to forgive us as a nation for our sinful choices and ways, covering us with His Son’s blood, and extending blessing and favor upon the United States of America because of His great mercy.

Ask God to bless America spiritually in a new and fresh way and move us to return to the Lord our God.

Ask God to bless America by raising up godly leaders in all areas of our nation: locally, regionally, statewide, and nationally.

Ask God to bless America economically so that all people in our nation will be blessed and so we can be a blessing to the entire world.

Ask God to bless America by securing our nation from all evil and harm from within our nation and from outside our nation.

  1. PRAY FOR AMERICANS TO LOVE ONE ANOTHER, BEGINNING AMONG CHRIST FOLLOWERS

“Love one another. Just as I have loved you…” John 13:34

The present anger, division, and broken relationships in America are calling us to pray for and take all necessary actions to remember God’s love for us so we will love one another.

God is the only One who can bring unity, harmony, and oneness in America; therefore, we look only to Him in prayer, asking for this love to prevail.

Call upon God to create a major Love One Another movement across America and empower us to make every effort to live in unity with one another, call for unity, and continually forward unity in America.

  1. PRAY FOR THE CENTERS OF INFLUENCE IN AMERICA

“First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for everyone, for kings and all those who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2

Pray for the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of the United States government to value one another, respect one another, and work together for the good of our nation.

Pray for America’s military, its leaders, and all personnel to be protected by God, and for the courage to depend upon God.

Pray for the members of our media in America to be respectful of all people, bearing truth, and inspiring our nation with stories about loving one another.

Pray for America’s businesses to have leaders of integrity, be creators of economic blessing, and givers to the community.

Pray for America’s centers of education to create a culture of respect and love for one another.

Pray for the churches of America to model and be examples of love for another, inspiring a Love One Another movement to occur.

Pray for the families in America to return to the biblical model, creating families that practice forgiveness and love.

  1. ASK GOD FOR THE NATIONAL DAY OF PRAYER ON THURSDAY, MAY 2, TO BECOME A CATALYTIC SPIRITUAL MOVEMENT ACROSS AMERICA

“They all were continually united in prayer.” Acts 1:14

Lord, we ask You to call your church to love one another, so Your church can call our nation to love and unity on the National Day of Prayer and in the future.

Lord, we ask You to move each of us to love one another in the same way you love us: willfully, sacrificially, and unconditionally.

Lord, we ask You to empower our National Day of Prayer volunteers across America, who will lead and serve in thousands of observances on Thursday, May 2.

Lord, we ask You to use and anoint Dr. Ronnie Floyd, the President of the National Day of Prayer Task Force, as he provides leadership the entire week; but, most importantly the National Observance of the National Day of Prayer in historic Statuary Hall in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, DC, on Thursday, May 2, at 7:30 p.m. EDT.

Lord, we ask You to give Dr. Floyd the exact words needed for every media interview related to the National Day of Prayer.

Lord, we ask You to use the thousands upon thousands of observances of the National Day of Prayer to be a catalytic spiritual movement across America, ushering in the revival of the church and the next Great Spiritual Awakening in America.

Prayed…

All these four points, we cover with the blood… these things that must come to pass… protection from inside and outside our country… protection… thank You for it, Lord… in the name of Jesus, we humble ourselves before You… we trust in the power of the blood… thank You for the name… every knee will bow… thank You for the authority in the name of Jesus… according to Your Word, we pray for those in authority in our nation… Your Word says to do it… we pray for President Trump… cover his entire family with the blood… spiritual leaders in authority as well… we pray Your Word is strong in the heart of our President… that Your Word would direct him… stand against wickedness and lies and deception… a shift toward God’s ways…

Mary led group in worship…
