Dave shared…

Knowing what I know in understanding and education and my background, I’ve met people with paper on their walls, three or four PHDs. What I’ve learned from being around people like that, I’d rather have the Holy Ghost than to have all of that on the wall. Education is powerful. It helps you. But the problem with having these tools, is we tend to lean on those things more than we lean on what is inside of us.

We are first and primarily a spirit. When we look in the mirror, we see a physical body. But that body would not exist without your spirit. Take your spirit out and you’re done. And the Holy Spirit is the one that allows us to do and see things that are impossible. And things that are beyond you. Beyond your capability and resources and education. Everything you know is right or true. Even things that you can scientifically prove are one way. You literally can write out an equation for your situation and say here’s the number. If you take this and this and this and figure out what the statistical probability of this activity to happen. Like DJ here. You’re in real estate right? Sales. A lot of times sales people deal with how many houses are in the market. They go by how many homes have been sold in this area. There is a lot of information they use to help them do their job. It’s a powerful tool because you can position yourself in a way to be successful. But there are always unknowns in those situations. You may have a fish on the line, a customer ready to buy that house. All of a sudden, they pull out. You can plan for everything but not always everything happens the way you think it will, even with all your numbers.

I say that to say this, that it’s the Holy Spirit who knows things that you don’t know. Not only that, what He knows can control the natural and change the natural. To tell that person who decided at the last minute, I’m pulling out. At the end you didn’t really get a solid reason why. They just didn’t feel like it or some reason. But God can change that whole thing around. They can go to sleep that night and all of a sudden, have a dream. “I was wrong. I want to do that.” See what I’m saying? That’s the factor that we don’t factor in our lives. And we rely too much on natural things.

I’m going to read this scripture. 1 Cor. 2:4, “The message I preached and how I preached it was not an attempt to sway you with persuasive arguments but to prove to you the almighty power of God’s Holy Spirit. For God intended that your faith not be established on man’s wisdom but by trusting in his almighty power.”

Not trusting in man’s wisdom. But trusting in God’s almighty power. Basically, trusting in the Holy Spirit. I remember brother Hagin when I was in school, he said “If I can get you to understand one thing in this school, this is the thing I’d get you to understand. How to be led by the Holy Spirit.” We know that and we’ve heard that; however, practical application of that is another thing.

Because here I am in my mid 50s and I’ve been a Christian since 11 years old. I’ve been in the Word of faith and in church my whole life and I still have challenges with it. I’m not saying that I’m the ultimate example. But if somebody like that has to deal with it on a regular basis, well, then we all are subject to these things. I’m trying to get to this point, the stuff that happened this last week in the ministry in the church was this thing that we’re talking about. It wasn’t man’s wisdom. It was the power of the Holy Spirit. When they laid hands on you, impartations inside of you are participating with you now, are working in you, that you don’t even know. And sometimes it’s a good thing that you don’t know because you’d just mess it up.

I asked the Lord the other day, “Why don’t you just tell me. We can make my challenges in life a lot easier if you just tell me. Tell me what the answer is or what the outcome is going to be and then I’ll be okay with that.” This is what the Lord told me. “If I told you everything, it would be harder on you. It would make it more difficult for you if I told you everything. Because then your mind would be involved and take hold of that and try to work that thing and make it happen and you are not part of the equation. I’m here to bless you, to take care of you with things I could do that you can’t do. Now I can tell you that everything is going to be okay.” And that’s what the Holy Spirit does. He usually tells us and calms our spirit and speaks to our hearts.

The other day I was laying down and the Lord spoke to me, “I’ve got this and everything is going to be okay.” I knew it was Him. It wasn’t one of those, “was that me?” No. I knew this was God. I started weeping because I knew it was His voice. A week or two before, I asked Him, “Why don’t you just tell me.” So He’s telling me this. “I can’t tell you everything because then you start taking responsibility for things that are not your things.”

Just yesterday, I did something. He told me something a week before about what is going to happen in the future. As soon as I got the information, I started working in that direction. Hello!? We’ve been told from various sources that if you don’t do something, God can’t do something. That’s just stupid.

Let me give you an example of how stupid that is. When Jesus died on the cross, were you there to help Him do that? Could you have done anything to cause redemption for the earth and us? Nothing. He didn’t need your plan. He did it before you were born and He did it in such a masterful way that it would not be messed up by anybody. But it would be so simple that we could get it. Even the simplest person can get it.

So there’s a reason why when I asked the question, “why don’t you just tell me?” There’s a reason why. It’s for your good. That’s where trust is so important in God. That’s why when we trust Him and He speaks to us in that still small voice and says, “Everything is going to be okay.” Be okay with everything is going to be okay.

See Barb’s was that if you just pray on the lawnmower, you see how simple that is? Me, it’s like okay, got to have gas fuel mixture. Could be a plugged jet. Could be a fuel filter. Is the gas bad? I’m going through and changing all these things for all the proper environment for success. And with no success. Want to pick up the lawnmower and throw it away and get a new one.

God wants us to have success, to be part of the process where grace is manifesting every single day for us. Where we see the anointing of God’s power in our lives healing our bodies, delivering our children, moving in our lives, providing for our finances and doing everything we need for life and godliness on a regular day 24/7. So much that we get so used to Him doing it that we’re so relaxed and happy. And we’re not frustrated with trying to gain some favor or whatever it is that we’re trying to do, to get that.

I say that to say this that if you understand what I’m talking about, it relieves you of the responsibility of you having to take care of your own self. And that’s the good news. If you’re a self-sufficient person who has taken care of yourself and you’re really good at it… I’ll tell you what, that’s all well and good until the doctor gives you some medical thing and says they can’t help you with it. You just have to go home and die. I’ve heard of people who have had that happen to them.

My neighbor had that happen to him. They sent him home to die. I saw him down. I said, “What’s going on?” “They sent me home to die.” He had been to places where they know about this stuff. They said, “We don’t know. The likelihood of you living is nothing so just go home, make your peace.” That is natural wisdom. That’s not what happened. I saw that guy walk out of that cancer free. He was stage four. They have him little time. I saw him walk out of that! He wasn’t even saved! That throws all your theology out the door. He got saved, by the way. He came to my door, “I have to talk to you.” With tears in his eyes, he told me how God healed him. All I told him was that there was a healer and that He loved him. That’s all I told him. And that it wasn’t real difficult and you didn’t have to join a church and you didn’t have to read your Bible and you didn’t have to do any of these things. All you have to do is believe what I’m telling you.

That night, we went into his garage and prayed a simple prayer. “God, if You’re real, heal me. And I will know that You’re real.” He said something changed inside of him. After he prayed that, he started crying. He went into the house and poured himself a cup of brandy and for the first time in months, he was able to drink his brandy. He liked brandy. You got that? Ha, ha…

“How in the world could God heal somebody who drinks!? He’s not even saved?”

I’ll tell you how He can. Simple faith. And here we are trying to figure it out. This guy is telling me this and he’s crying. This is the day before I’m leaving on a missions trip. He said, “I just had to tell you because you told me about Him and I had to tell you that He’s real.” He said, “I went to the doctor and they don’t know what happened. It’s gone. I have no cancer, no cells, nothing. It’s all gone.” Glory to God!

See, he had spent all his time focusing on going to doctors and look what happened. Then he laid down something simple. I just told him something very simple. He took that and he believed that and because he believed that, he walked away free. No human wisdom there.

I just wanted to share that to say this, that I’ve seen things happen in my life like this my whole life. Things that just don’t make sense. Yet, I still struggle from time to time. But I know that meetings like we’ve had and the Holy Spirit when He moves on us and He works in us, there is something to this. This is real. And it may not seem how in the world me dancing or me prophesying or me doing these things, how is that… that makes no sense. Don’t tell that to that guy I told you about. Because you’re not going to convince him of anything. Because all he knows is one day he was blind and now he sees. That’s the attitude that we need to have toward God when we are dealing with life and the way we live and pray.

You can spend hours and hours of prayer to get something like this gentleman that I just shared with you who got it probably in five minutes. He said he kept telling himself “I know that if God is real that He would allow me to drink my brandy. And I know that if He would heal me if there was a healer like Dave says there is a healer, then I would be able to drink my brandy because I wasn’t able to hold down my brandy because of the cancer and the problems I was having.” So he gets delivered of cancer and we’re still focusing on that fact that he’s drinking brandy. Dear God! You see how simple God is and He just wants us to get out of your head. “I don’t work that way.”

Can He change this nation? Absolutely. Can He free you of guilt or shame? Absolutely. Can He deliver you from your plight or concern where you’re so happy that you don’t even think about those issues anymore. Absolutely.

But like He told Naaman though Elisha, if you just go do this, you’ll be healed. And sometimes it’s so ludicrous and stupid that how could that be. I would have said that about the lawnmower. That’s stupid to pray over a lawnmower. And I would have been wrong.

I want us to get to a point where we receive (snapping fingers). Our testimony should be like this all the time. Somebody asked me, “How do you hear from God?” In my mind, I thought, “How can you not hear from God?” But that’s a valid question. People want to know how to hear from God? How do I know God is speaking to me? You just have to know a couple things about God that are pretty simple. He’s not complicated.

Remember what Mary the mother of Jesus said when He turned the water into wine? That’s it. “Just do what He says.” That’s what she told them. She had been around Him His whole life and she knew that don’t think about it, just do what He tells you to do. Because if you think about the situation of the scenario with the wine, and if you think about that, how are you going to get more wine? We’re just going to fill the jars up with water. Okay, we’re not doing this. That’s not how you get wine. Just do what He says. Really, it’s that simple. Just do what He says. If He says take the day off, or if He says, “We’re not praying today, we’re going to go shopping.” If He says to do that, do it, please. Do it! Whatever it is.

One minister said to write your problem on a piece of paper, tear it up and give it to the Lord. Okay, how is that going to work? You could tell him how stupid that is. But go ahead and don’t do it. What do you have to lose? I say that just to say this, is that the body is so limited by the lack of this. They are so limited by miracles because the lack of these promptings. That if they would just do a simple something and it may not even make sense, really, things can change. And it really is not… it has nothing to do that if you like the mud on the eyes that Jesus put on the blind man, it’s not the mud. Because if it was the mud, we’d have places that sold mud and everybody would be healed. The point is, if it’s something that so simple that doesn’t make sense to you naturally, there’s a reason why it’s that way. It has to be that way. I’ll tell you why. Because you can’t wrap your mind around that. What God is saying is your problem is you and I’m going to give it to you this way so you can get out of your head and into your heart and start hooking up with Me so I can get to you what it is that you have need of.

Prayed…

We thank You for the power and anointing that delivers and sets us free and allows us to walk in a place with You where we can receive an abundance of grace on a day to day basis where the anointing and power would be present in our lives… we don’t have to trust in natural things… we do what You’ve called us to do… and we walk in that grace You’ve given us… we learn not to get too tight with these things and learn how to yield ourselves to the Holy Spirit… so we can watch and see You participate in our lives… where we can truly have a testimony to say that the Lord did this … Father, You’ve told us in the scriptures that it’s Your goodness that leads us to repentance… that allows us to be free from the strives of men… of life and difficulties and challenges…
