Pastor Ray shared…

Last weekend a lady was talking to me about the prayer here in the chapel and she said you know I watch every Thursday and you people are so happy. I thought that’s better than sad. I thought of Isaiah 56:7 “All these I’ll bring to my holy mountain and I will make them joyful in my house of prayer.” I am not making myself joyful. He makes us joyful in the house of prayer. “Their burn offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar for my house will be called a house of prayer for all people.”

That will make you happy. He’s making us happy. Wouldn’t you rather be happy than sad? I like that we don’t have to make things up, we just yield up, yield to Him.

Yesterday when we were here in prayer we were worshiping the Lord, and I just had a quick internal vision. I saw that as pray-ers… let’s just say there is a wall up here and there are big double doors. We are on this side and we are just looking at it as pray-ers. That how I saw it, I was just looking at it and so all of a sudden both double doors swung in like this and Jesus was standing there. It was like a room but it was on the other side. It was filled with words. That’s the only way I can describe it and they were words in English and other tongues from different nations and they were black and white. It was very, very clear, easy to see them.

The way I saw it was our tongues or our English language… there was a lifting for the Church, the pray-ers to pray words that had never been prayed before. It was like that. It was divine revelation, utterance by the Spirit but it wasn’t that we would just come on through. He opened it up. He welcomed us in and up, that’s how He said it, “Come in and come up.” It wasn’t that we would come in and just take some words. He was giving us the words and as we are praying I believe, I know I have experienced this, there is an easier seeing in these days as we pray out into the Spirit, sow into the Spirit, moving by the Spirit for the Church, for us, there are things to see to say. When we see it we say it, it comes forth and it’s utterance in the Spirit. So that made me this morning to look up something from Brother Hagin on Tongues.

The following excerpt is taken from Tongues Beyond the Upper Room by Kenneth E. Hagin:

“We Need Both Kinds of Prayer”

You can readily see how the Church as a whole has fallen so far short and so far behind in prayer. Many Christians have tried to get by on just mental praying, so it’s no wonder they haven’t gotten any further in their spiritual progress. They’re trying to get by on one kind of praying when God has given His children the ability to pray with the spirit and pray with the understanding!

Praying only one way is like trying to ride a two-wheeled bicycle with just one wheel. If you do that, I guarantee you’re going to have a problem going very far!

We can apply that illustration to “the two wheels” (or two kinds) of prayer—praying with the understanding and praying with tongues. These are the two wheels that propel prayer forward and produce long-lasting, spiritual results.

When the majority of the Church decided that praying in tongues (the “front wheel”) died with the apostles, believers were left with only one wheel of prayer and could no longer get very far spiritually. So most Christians put their one-wheeled bicycle (praying with the understanding) on a stationary bicycle stand and started pedaling. And as a result, those Christians have stayed in the same spot for years, never making much progress. They may think they are moving forward, but compared to the destination God intended for them to reach, they haven’t gotten very far at all!

That’s why Paul said, “What is it then? I will pray WITH THE SPIRIT, and I will pray with the UNDERSTANDING also … ” (1 Cor. 14:15). We need both “wheels” of prayer so we can fulfill God’s highest and best in our lives!

Many folks haven’t been taught what the Word says about this issue. Some will still try to tell you speaking with tongues is not for believers nowadays. But if it was necessary for believers to pray to God with their spirits apart from their understanding back then, it stands to reason it’s also necessary for us to do so now! We need to pray with our understanding, but we can’t get by with only that kind of prayer for the simple reason that we wouldn’t know how to pray as we ought.

ROMANS 8:26
26 “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: FOR WE KNOW NOT WHAT WE SHOULD PRAY FOR AS WE OUGHT: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.”

On the other hand, we could say the same thing about praying with the spirit. We also can’t get by with praying in tongues alone. Sometimes we need to articulate our needs to God in our known language. Therefore, we need both kinds of prayer.

So learn how to develop your prayer life with the help of the Holy Spirit. By all means, pray with your understanding. But if you’re not filled with the Holy Ghost, ask for that priceless gift, and then learn how to communicate with your Heavenly Father by His divine, supernatural means.

Thank You, Father, for a greater revelation for the upper ward call to prayer
You have given us everything we need
Joyful in seeing the end—we endure and go all the way through
Thank You, for causing the Church to will and do of Your good pleasure
Your bride being prepared for Her groom
Sowing greater seeds of prayer, word, and finances
Oh, Father, let us be about Your business
A greater liberality
Freely we have received; freely we give—an unending supply!
The revelation of that today to every believer
Increase of utterance in prayer
In the night seasons—yielding to more prayer
The word, the word, the word
Liberally planting seeds all along the way
Using our faith as we speak and as we pray
Steady—keeping our eyes on Your Word
Watching and praying, seeing and knowing and going by the Spirit
Grant prayer to the Church, Father
Even the little ones enter more and more by way of prayer
One heart and one mind all across the earth
Entering into the secret place, lifting up the voice and going up
The Devil will not steal that anymore
Greater revelation spreading through the Church
Father, let the strong wind of Your Spirit blow through the Church today
Blowing some things out and some things in
More rooms, doors, access, platforms in the Holy Ghost
By Your Spirit, there is greater light
Repetition, repetition, repetition—confirmation of Your Word, Father
Walking in love, talking in love, moving in love
Be fruitful, be fruitful, be fruitful
Great gains in the Spirit now!
Be it unto us according to Your Word
We esteem and partake of it Father—reverencing it
Atmospheres conducive to change in our minds, hearts, and bodies
The Body is being changed by Your Word and by Your Spirit
The great and mighty King of Kings and Lord of Lords—magnifying You today
We must see that
Praying over situations that did not fully manifest in October
Money that didn’t come in—we call it in now in December
More than would have come in—be multiplied!
Increase in the body today
Manifestations and operations and diversities of operations, undeniable proofs
Miracles, signs, and wonders wrought through the Church today
We will go in the strength of the Lord God, impenetrable strength!

These works and greater works will you do because I go to the Father. Greater works in prayer first and then let the Holy Ghost lead and guide us into those works.

Continued praying…

We are asking for wisdom for the greater
Thank You, Father, for a capacity to yield by Your Spirit
Declarations that must be declared and understood
Witty ideas and inventions, supernatural utterance that create things
Father, we call out for the deeper things
Holy Spirit, teaches us, lead us, and guide us into these specific things
Thank You, Father, for diversity of tongues that births these things
Ideas born of Your Spirit
Unafraid to go where we have never gone before
Asking according to Your will, Father
That all men would be saved—we can go there, Lord
Salvations, salvations, salvations
We bind You, Devil, in the name of Jesus and with the blood of the Lamb
You will not be able to shut the eyes or ears, even of those
A great turning, Father
Your great love in that great darkness
Father, You have no pleasure in the death of the wicked but that all men be saved
Laborers, laborers, laborers
Father, You are so very, very good
Thank You, Lord, that You ever live to make intercession
We ever live to make intercession
Joining forces now in Jesus’ name! Heaven and earth
We take our places, Lord
We purpose to see the victory now
Living far above darkness and cares—shaking them off
