Prayer Summary for Wednesday, September 14, 2016

Scripture focus…

“Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].” James 5:16 (AMPC)

God’s power morphs and moves where it needs to as the Church, as we cooperate with Him to pray makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

(17) “Elijah was a human being with a nature such as we have [with feelings, affections, and a constitution like ours]; and he prayed earnestly for it not to rain, and no rain fell on the earth for three years and six months. (18) And [then] he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain and the land produced its crops [as usual].”

Pastor Ken shared…

I like that. I like that rhythm. I like that flow there. And he prayed again and the heavens supplied rain. When I read that, I was like heaven is going to supply us some rain in this hour. Heaven is going to supply God’s power in this hour, open doors in this hour, bless the Lord, creativity in this hour, a new move of the Spirit in this hour, souls in this hour. Whatever it is we need, heaven is going to supply. And it goes on to say the land produced its crops as usual. In other words, God’s will was discharged. His will was accomplished. Amen.

So this morning we are just going to flow as usual and start from this place. Somebody once said to me a number of years ago, “Ken, your grace (your gifting) is xyz but your place is prayer.” You do your grace when you flow from your place. I don’t know about you but whenever I come to this place, geographically or my prayer closet place, I am at home. And it is from that place we can go out and do our grace. We can go out and be mom. We can go out and be dad. We can go out and do what we do in the marketplace, be where God has called us to be. But this is our home. This is our place, this place of prayer.

So this morning I just want us to go there and let the Holy Spirit flow through us. I don’t think we recognize sometimes just how profound and powerful prayer is. In fact I was at a loss of words the other day with my kids because… you know I try not to be preachy with my kids but I try to always impart to them and we just prayed about something. It just hit me that I need to express to my kids just how powerful prayer is. And as I thought about it, I thought well what would I say? I don’t even know how to communicate that. The Lord did give me some words and it probably still wasn’t what it needed to be exactly but it was a start. And I don’t know about you all but I feel like I am a little bit like John G. Lake, not in his stature but I feel like I am what he once said. He said that his life really is the result of his place of prayer. That his whole ministry and everything he became and did flowed and ebbed out of prayer. But I can say I don’t know how Christians do it without that place of prayer. Amen.

And this morning I feel like the Lord just wants to remind us there is such creativity and such flow and such power and such grace and such wisdom and so many solutions just waiting to flow from that place, our place of prayer. There is transportation for that matter.
I remember many years ago, I was at a West Coast Believers convention in California and I remember one particular week I would go to the meeting. I was doing the book table actually for Pastor Lynne. I would finish up the late meeting, go do the book table, then run back to the hotel, get something to eat and run out to the parking ramp that overlooked Disney Land no less. I would pray there for an hour or two each night all throughout that week. I didn’t realize it in the moment because I was just occupying my place in prayer, but by the end of the week the most profound thing happened. God just rose up in me that Saturday morning. I was just minding my own business, getting ready to go do something. How many of you know God loves to speak to us when we are just minding our own business doing the most natural things? And He just rose up and I heard the voice of God so remarkably, so clearly, so articulately within my heart. And He began to speak to me about my future and some next steps that became very real in the following years. It was one of the most supernatural encounters I have ever had with God.

I was telling Pastor Lynne the story a number of years later and she said “Ken, you prayed yourself into another place.” In other words prayer became my transportation. I literally prayed myself into a whole other place. I was already before God but I could hear Him. He could speak to me, He could do things in me personally that could happen no other way just because I kept going to my place, my place of prayer, my place of divine communion and connection with my Creator.

Much of the time that’s what prayer is. It’s mundane. It’s monotonous. It’s just day by day. We just keep coming to our place before Him but all along He’s taking us somewhere. It’s providing us transportation to get where we are to where we need to be. Anybody ever been in that place where you don’t want to be where you are at but you don’t know how to get to where you need to go? You are stuck in a rut maybe or you are in the status quo. But it is prayer I can attest that will provide you the wheels, so to speak, the transportation to get you from where you are to where you need to be spiritually and naturally. Amen.

Prayer is way more remarkable and profound and powerful than we really realize. So I just encourage you this morning to stay the course, keep coming to your place, your personal prayer place, this place and know that God is taking us somewhere individually, as a church, as the church overall. We are going somewhere. We are on track to do some remarkable things in this hour, to see some remarkable things, to see the work of God wrapped up in a phenomenally short amount of time. And so this morning let’s just open our hearts to Him and let’s just trust Him that He is taking us to the next place this morning personally, collectively, corporately. As we occupy that place, He is going to give us transportation to pray out some things that need to be prayed out, for that supply to come so the fruit of His purpose and plan can be realized. Amen.

Prayed…

Father, we thank You for this great grace resting in this place
You have ordained that we would speak and listen to You
We release the cares of life – every worry and concern
Resting in Your arms of goodness, rest, and assistance
We are held in Your hand
You know the way forward, the future
It’s simply a matter that we would occupy this place of prayer
Break down opposition; make us tender and responsive to Your touch
Mold us, shape us, let us be responsive to You in every way
We bless Your name
Holy Father, we invite You to breathe on us and bring those things we so need
We worship and adore You
You are worthy of all glory and praise
Lifting You up in this place

Continued praying…

We reverence and bless You, Holy Spirit
Thank You for Your presence, Your great grace
We love and praise You – we glorify Your name
Open up the gates, Father
We recognize that we are in a desperate place
A nation that needs You
So we pray for a way
Embracing more grace – for grace to open over this country, Father
Over cities, Father
We lift up the combinations – Your plan for each city, town, neighborhood, each church
Surely You have a plan
Send and define, make clear the plan
The plan that must go forth now from sea to shining sea
To north to south and all the outreaching places
That there would be a wave of God going across the land
Sweeping and moving and doing what men cannot do
We release it, we release it, Lord
More and more
Companies embracing and in sync now
We speak unity over the Church now
Coming into agreement and alignment now
Every element!
Not out of joint but in joint – calibrated in God
Embracing, embracing
Seeing it now, it becomes plain now, the NEW THING
Elevated to a new place, things we have not seen before are coming forth
A new caliber, a new class
Of and by the Spirit
Momentum, moving, moving
Let there be enunciation and articulation of those things to be proclaimed
Yes, there is a key
Open up, open up
Aid, favor right now, help come in to play and into place
Restoration, restoration
Open, open it, be bold, be bold
Signs, wonders, miracles
Now is the time, we say yes, yes, yes
We are breathing fresher air, as we go higher and higher
Father, in the name of Jesus, we pray for all that You envisioned for this final hour
For the miraculous, that we would not lose the supernatural moving of Your Spirit
But on the contrary brought to a whole new level
Praying for a fresh renewal, revival, and resuscitating of those things of Your Spirit
So necessary, the operations in and by the Spirit
Communities, cities, nations, whole companies of people manifesting the glory of God
And the power of God
To turn whole nations in a day, salvation of countless numbers of souls
Open our eyes, expanding our hearts
Help us to see with a new perspective, to look up from where we are
All across the church lifting up eyes
Seeing the picture that is so much bigger and greater than what we first thought
Let’s just reach for that in our hearts this morning
Lifting up what you are seeing now
Laying hold of that and so much more
Not missing or lacking or broken in any way
Fully supplied and with the intent to distribute
Power wise
Inspiration wise
In every way, everywhere we call for that, Father
Praying for those parts that have been disjointed, disenfranchised
We call for a restoring and reattaching for all those that have been separated
A supernatural surgery, Father
Calling for a strong body of believers, a strong Church
Burning off the dross and stubble – a pure gold church, Father
Sending out a call and invitation – an outgoing operation by invitation!
Wayward sons and daughter back to where they belong
Back to the house of God!
Time speaks that there is not much left
So come back, come back to your place
Receive healing grace in Jesus’ name
We plead the blood over the church
We take great diligence over the prayers for the church
Blood line around the borders of the church
Devil, not a step further!
We rebuke deception and all diabolical plans
We push you back off of baby Christians
Declaring them to be rooted and grounded in love and unto the fullness and stature of Christ
Undergirding, strengthening
It’s time for that!
Declaring that the future is bright for the Church
Light shining brightly upon Your people
Great grace, power, and angelic assistance
Loosing angels into action—assisting the church like never before
New grace, new supply, new assignments
A whole new day, season, and time
Thank You, Father, bless Your name
Glory to God!
